is that the bakery next to the fairmont???

Yes it is.  I recommend it to all Fanime goers with sweet tooths xD

Honestly, it's not nearly as expensive as it looks, my raspberry mousse was only $3.50.

;A; I didn't eat nearly as much as I should have.. in fact I barely ate at all during, which yes I know is bad.. but strangely I had next to no appetite the entire weekend..

One thing that REALLY stuck out though was a raspberry mousse I got from Bijan Bakery.

;A; trying again since I've had no luck

Friday: Just be Friends Megurine Luka.  I'm not really sure how to differentiate myself from other Luka's.. I'm fairly tall, pale skin, wig was straight and light pink, flower crown.

Friday evening: Carina Verritti from Shukufuku no Campanella. costume had a white witch hat with blue ribbon, a white blouse with a blue "shawl", blue mini skirt with white thigh high stockings.

Saturday: Saki from Ar tonelico III (also known as Ar tonelico Qoga) reference picture of the character: http://i1111.photobucket.com/albums/h464/MichiMii/Cosplay%20Ideas/19-1.jpg  I was like.. the ONLY Ar tonelico cosplayer there.

Sunday: Looking for any pictures of me from the Black and white ball.  I was wearing the bob wig from my Saki cosplay, and a pink and white dress with a large hoopskirt.

I am ESPECIALLY looking for pictures of Carina and Saki.  ;A; I'm worried about finding photos since they're from lesser known series.

o_o Sorry you had such crappy luck, for me the Fairmont was amazing, the staff was polite and helpful, the room was large, spacious, and clean, and not a single bite.

Well, this was my first year getting a prop peace bonded, and the person who did it made it a rather enjoyable experience for me.

Also, many thanks to the staff member who asked if I was alright during the Black and White Ball.

Hotel Name: Fairmont
Would You Book Next Year: YES! With the fury of a thousand burning suns YEEEEEEEEEES

Pros: For one thing, the hotel is GORGEOUS. The rooms are huge, mine had a double bed, dresser, flat screen tv, couch, chair, and desk.  There's a vanity with lighting and a magnification mirror for applying makeup, ample closet space, the bathroom is also a major plus, the shower and bath are separate, there's actual floor space, and the toilet is behind a separate sliding door.  They also provide bathrobes.  Other pros? The elevators are FAST (well except on checkout) also the Bijan Bakery is right next door, delicious and BEAUTIFUL sweets.  For a pretty fair price too.   The staff was also, in my experience very friendly and accommodating.

Cons: To some, the Fairmont may be considered "far away" but really it's not that much of a walk, I enjoyed it in fact.  Also when I say the elevators are fast, I mean they're FAST. I could literally feel my body being pushed down when I went up, and each time I was on, my ears popped.  No mini fridge, though you can rent one for $25 a day. (just get a cooler :p) also, I didn't have to deal with it, but apparently parking is EXPENSIVE.  Best to find another place to park your car.

Special Notes to Share: 1. Beware the mini-bar/refreshment center. It's automated and if you move anything you WILL BE CHARGED.  It happened to me once, but they waived the fee without question when I told them I had just moved things to see what they were.
2. I thoroughly recommend joining their President's Club. There are different levels, but even the basic (aka FREE) package will get you perks.  For example you get free internet (instead of paying a fee) and you get to have your own line for check in and check out.

Friday: Luka Megurine (Just be Friends, Vocaloid)
Friday: Carina Verritti (Shukufuku no Campanella) White witch hat, oar shaped staff, blue skirt
Saturday: Saki ( Ar tonelico 3 also known as Ar tonelico Qoga ) Short blonde bob wig, poofy pink top, black spandex shorts
Sunday: If anyone has pictures of me from the ball that would be great, I was wearing a pink and white dress with a hoopskirt

Thanks in advance!

Are there any rules concerning hoopskirts?

Er, well there was a mini fridge in my room as well.  However it was a fully stocked MINIBAR.  I mean yeah sure, you could stuff a couple things in there, but you have to be careful, since it's automated/has sensors. If you MOVE anything in there, you'll be charged.  Of course when I told the front desk that I just moved things to look at them, they waived the charged.

If you want your own personal, empty, mini fridge, you have to pay.

The microwave is a no sadly, but they definately have closet hangers

@Inai: They have mini-fridges? I thought that they didn't have them. Well that is a pleasant surprise :D (don't have to lug around the ice chest this con ^-^)

According to their website, they have mini fridges available for $25 a day.

Considering how many people fly through DIA on a daily basis... Also he's flying in on the Wednesday, so unless you're also planning to get there very early, I doubt it.

:p I know.  It was more of a silly excitement over seeing another Coloradoan

Aww, good luck. I was pretty shocked, I also got the ticket for my friend who is coming in from Boulder, and it was about half the cost of mine. It's usually less than a quarter.

What we ended up doing is flying into San Fransisco, it's actually a fair bit cheaper. United flying from DIA to SFO worked out to just over 300 round trip, if that helps.

DIA? As in Denver International Airport?  :o I wonder if we'll see each other!

For Sale

Pandora Hearts, Alice White dress. $80.00

http://i1111.photobucket.com/albums/h464/MichiMii/003-a.jpg

The dress is in great condition, and is made from a very thick silk I believe (Not the shiny cheap stuff) the only real flaw I can think of is the ribbon on the choker is held on by a safety pin (it came this way) and there's some minor fraying to the small ribbons.  When I commissioned this dress my measurements were as follows: Height: 5'8, Bust:41 inches, Waist:33 inches and Hips: 40 inches.

Wild ARMs XF for PSP $18.00

Sorry if this has already been asked...

So, I want to pre-register for Fanime 2011, but you need photo identification, right? Though school IDs don't count, so what should I do? I'm not old enough to have a driver's license...

To my understanding, you do not need a photo ID to pre-reg.  You need a photo ID to pick up your badge at the convention.  Also, even if you're too young for a driver's license, I believe that you can pick up a State issued ID card at your local DMV.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: Your Hotel Stay- 2010

Where I stayed: The Fairmont. 9th floor one bed.
Good or Bad: EXCELLENT
Staying again: Oh god yes.

Good:  The service was prompt and friendly.  Room was great.  Really spacious.  Couch, chair, desk, large bed.  The bathroom was huge as well, shower and bath where seperate, and the toilet had a sliding door for extra privacy.  Vanity with a large mirror and lights for putting on make up, spacious closet, large flat screen TV.  Any time I asked the front desk for anything, they were extremely helpful. ^.^
Also Bijan Bakery is next door. DELICIOUS CAKE THAT IS NOT A LIE.
Bad: It is expensive.  No fridge or microwave, but I believe you can request a mini fridge, I'm not sure.
They charge for internet, but that can be waived by joining their President's Club.

Neutral:  At first I was worried about the distance, but I ended up loving the walk to the convention center.  It gave me a chance to pass by cosplayers, get some fresh air and get in the mood so to speak XD

Additional information:  Don't move anything in the mini bar! XD;; I wasn't aware of this, being that I've never stayed at a hotel with a minibar.. but apparently they have sensors. Almost got charged because I picked up a bottle to read the label.  But the front desk waived the fee with no questions asked.

There's a Safeway within easy walking distance of the convention center.  A Safeway is chain of grocery store, for those that don't have them.

Map/Directions here.

Thank you so much!
