That is a good question. I myself think this is gundam style, because that's how big our pyramid is. XD

It's more of like Giant Robo style, because if it was Evangelion style we would be causing 4th impact on this subject.

I wanna tell you guys something, This game inspires Dick Clark's Pyramid games back in the 80's. Thank you Glitch for resurrecting a classic game taken to another level. :)

Got one big fat suitcase dedicated towards snacks ಠ.ಠ

I brought down many tasty Canadian snacks, I tried to fill up on Japanese ones at the con, but my suitcase ran out of space. I may just bring a larger, lighter suitcase next year and concentrate on minimum luggage to maximize snack capacity.

I'm just waiting for an episode of Myth-Busters about over packed suit cases exploding.   ;D

I think its a tired, boring and unoriginal idea. It's an anime convention, I would expect anime themes, not lowering the bar to satisfy a pop-culture fashion statement.

Really? You've never seen gothic styles in anime?  And i would think you'd want something somewhat popular, that most people like, so you have a lot of people wanting to be apart of and dress up as the theme.  Besides you can make something original out of an unoriginal idea.

on top of the deposit before check-in.  No Ice Machine! If youre not going to have a mini fridge at least have an ice machine on the floor! 

O.o The Fairmont has ice machines..  It's just that it's behind a door instead of out in the open.  :p Literally right across the hall from my room was a door that said "ice".    Also, I looked at my bill, there was no charge for using the ice bucket or coffee machine.  Snack Bar yes, but the staff told me about that right up front. 

Not in the building i was in....there was no door that said "ice".  I walked up and down the entire hall and even looked behind a door that was slightly open where it possibly could have been and there was nothing there besides a bright white room with nothing inside.  And i didnt say about being charged for the coffee machine...just under the TV where there were glasses and an ice bucket had a sign saying i'd be charged for removing anything from the tray so i just didnt touch it :P And it was referring to those and not just the snacks :U

I didnt get to wear mine long enough to have a chance to sweat in it this year XD  The shoes were killing my feet so i had to change back into plane clothes

-Lastly, why aren't anyone following the arrows on the floor in the main convention lobby?  It's not that hard.  The mass chaos of crowds going on was overwhelming and it happens every year.  Maybe a few volunteers in that area for traffic control would help!

Thank You!! XD I was wondering the same thing how empty this year those walk way lines were and why no one wanted to use them.  There was so much room.  Maybe a sudden allergy or disgust toward arrows??

Would You Stay there again: A Possibility!
Pro: Big Room.  Big Bathroom w/ Walk-in Shower.  No crowded elevators. Nice nice bakery on the corner ^_^
Cons:  No Ice Machine! (Least on the floor/building i was in) If youre not going to have a mini fridge (and i dont mean the one with the little bottles of liquor in it) at least have an ice machine on the floor!

I have been going to Fanime since 2001 and the only negative thing I have to say is the registration lines are simply outdated. My boyfriend and I could only attend for one day, so we arrived at 9:00 AM on Saturday and waited for four hours. There is *NO* reason why you shouldn't be allowed to pre-reg for a one-day only pass and have it mailed out. Or at least have some type of barcode to be scanned at the con for pick-up. The process for registration at the con is so archaic, it's nuts! Here, stand in line for hours, enter your name and number into a computer, print out the info and have your badge picked up. So much time could be saved with a simple letter in the mail! Fanime will only grow in 2013, it's time to implement one-day ticket sales and allow them to be mailed out in advance.

I hope to see this improve in the future. Otherwise, we had a pretty positive experience! I don't know if I'll attend next year if a similar set-up occurs.

I dont know about sending badges out in the mail....it would either get lost in the mail, people would loose them or forget to bring them.  I think that Fanime knew this big crowd was coming for a good while and should have set up more lanes for pick up.  At least that way the line might still be huge, but people would have got threw a lot quicker.

Pros:  This was my first time at Fanime and it was as orgasmically awesome as I expected it to be.

Cons:

-The pocket schedule was great, but I think either it or the big book that comes in the bag needs to a little more explicitly state when and where the dance(s), MusicFest, the Masquerade, and things of that nature will happen.  
-The consolidated listing of cosplay gatherings was a great help as well, but I wish it had included a legend for all of the location acronyms for first-time Fanime visitors (such as myself).  Also on this note, the one time I asked the cosplay info desk for said legend that it was supposed to have, no one knew what it was.  Admittedly this was probably because everyone who knew was dealing with the protestors and other things.

This is all I can think of for now.

They use to have a legend on the same board for at least couple years, but i guess this year they felt no one needed them anymore.  Because i was confused where the Full Metal Alchemist gathering was and didnt know what CPMS meant and no one who were currently at the tables (either side) knew.  So i just passed on going.

Oh sorry. "Riser Stage" isn't listed on the map, but it's where "Cosplay Gatherings" is listed (street level, under Registration).

Marriott side of the convention is (looking at the map) on the left side - there are two stories.

yeah it doesnt exactly label that its an entrance, but on the map...there is one right in the upper corner of the marriott.  Up near where it says Stage Zero.....its easy to spot when your outside where most of the gatherings are.

I always make sure I get there an hour before seating...and even though the line is insanely huge, i always get a place to sit.  There is a lot of seating inside and im always surprised at how many good seats are still available no matter how far back in the line I get. ^_^
