The problem with 4v4 is we don't have a network (to our knowledge) to use to hook up 2 360's.
We're currently looking into 4 player FFA and 2v2, both 1st to 25 games.

FFA mean Free For All
and MLG stands for Major League Gaming witch is a Gaming Circuit based around several games including halo3.
the rules go into detail but some of the basics are Spawning with a Battle Rifle instead of a Assault Rifle and some other minor changes.

Well i dont know what a network has to do with linking 2 360s because all you need is a ethernet wire
and if you get several routers, and ethernet wires you could life up several 360s.
by the way, if there will be a 4v4 tornament, dont put a entire team on one Xbox.

These rules provide in game balance and will definitely make the tournament a lot more fair.
Looks like I'll have to spend some time pre-tournament going to all of these maps and finding these "cheat" spots.
Also, what is this ball that they're speaking of? I'm not a hardcore halo player so I don't know the lingo.
Also, they don't state the standard map settings, which I would appreciate.
Only rules off the top of my head that I know are no hand weapons and no Power weapons.

The Ball refers to oddball, a game type in halo3.
You dont need to worry about this as im sure will only be playing Slayer(Death Matches)

Well your supposed to download the Map settings. You can download these settings by hooking up a 360 to the internet, making a Xbox Live Silver Account, which is free, going HERE (http://www.bungie.net/stats/Halo3/FileShare.aspx?gamertag=MLG%20Gametypes) and download the content you require. By the way, your window live ID is the email you linked to your Live Account. After this start up halo 3 while signed into your Live Account and it should download automatically
theres no need to download many maps because all you need is 1 or 2 (I suggest MLG Guardian v4 and MLG The Pit v4)
and the gametype MLG TS v4

The MLG rules were listing stuff like you can't go to "top center" of gaurdian map or something, and other stuff like that.
I mean I have 2v2/ 1v1v1v1, 1st to 25, 7 minutes, no hand weapons, no power weapons.

weapons on map should be default, as we should be playing MLG Variant Maps.

nearly every halo tournament i went to (convention wise), it was always a crappy 360 prize which they got from gamestop for 5.99! a free game yeah but sometimes its lame and you rather cash it out for a less prize money -_-!...
for once i would like to see a prize worth seeing like a made up HALO GUN! or a spartan helmet XD!....

The Helmet is pretty cool, and one of the extra disks that come with it shows Ling Lings Head!!!

Gotta take into consideration that the prizes are most likely out of pocket since while "official" they (the tourneys) aren't sponsored by Fanime or anyone else willing to drop the cash for good prizes.

I would like to suggest for the tournaments to be either 2 v 2 or 1v1. Since you have to think about screen size. puting 4 people on 1 screen is a bit hard unless you have big screens. And rules be MLG settings and maps minus the power weapons on some map such as the rockets.
I would also love to see griff ball but just for freeplay it would be really crazy to have a grifball tourny. Swat will be good also.

I get bored to much on Halo now a days
Personally all I need is MLG, as long as I have friends on who I would play it with I'm happy.
I find things like SWAT or Grifball or Infection fun, but like playing them only on occasions.

All my friends are going away... as in, They only play COD4 and never play halo anymore

That might be why I'm soo bored.

People go and play CoD4 because its FAR less frustratingly and easier than Halo 3.
It not as near as competitive as Halo, and it allows players to rank up to highest rank with no more than putting time in it.
Of course the game, while I do enjoy playing it, is as broken as they come. Broken spawns, broken weapons, maps that were cut and pasted from the single player game, you name it. But still, people flock to it for it easiness.
But whatever, in the end, those same people will move on to the next fun online game that will be out in 6 months, than to the one after that. In fact, for us who are left its a blessing. It means that those who are truly dedicated to the game will be the only ones playing, leaving stability.
Now to go play some Halo, after my 360 cools down. It just went 2 red bars (it overheated).

I havent played Halo today.....I guess I'll be playing in a few min.
I've had it on and off various times today.
As for how long it was on, 30 min. Yeah.
My room traps so much heat, and I have myself, a bird, a TV, a Computer and Monitor, and my 360 producing heat in it.
I've opened up my windows to cool the room down as well as my box.
I should be on in like 5 min.
