I'm so glad to see that Fanime was able to get Four Points to offer housing through Fanime this year. Last year they were one of the last hotels with available rooms and were doing some horrible price gouging because of it. (Trust me, I looked up their prices for the following weekend and the difference was ridiculous).

Please note that the Four Points that is available this year is not the Four Points near the SJCC. This is their airport location.

You may want to confirm with the hotel directly - they will know best.

As for associate awards / Marriott employee discounts, I have heard that they tend to be blocked out over the convention in the past. Of course, it's always worth a try!

Both the housing company and FanimeCon are so sorry that this mistake occurred. We will be working to accommodate everyone effected as best as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Through our negotiations with the hotel, we were able to offer a limited number of suites at this price. A special treat - enjoy!

Quantities of this room type were extremely limited - I'm sorry!

Ok, this is OUTRAGEOUS! All the hotels are charging $100 per night deposit??? I booked at the Fairmont at $89...so that means the freaking deposit is more expensive than the price of actually staying there! We're not made of money, you know. Fanime's already driven up their prices for reg to obscene levels, now the hotel crap?

It has always stated that the deposit would be up to $100 per night, yet I've never been hit with more than $50/per night at any of the hotels I've stayed at: Hilton, Marriott and what used to be Crowne.

It's the Fairmont that charges $100 per night. Which ends up being $300 or $400 for most people, yes. Your best bet is not to use a debit card, I made that mistake my first year booking a room and had no money the entire con.

Please keep in mind that when using a credit card for your deposit, the funds for the deposit will only be authorized, but not charged (This is good! It won't tie up your money). If you use a debit card, the deposit funds will be removed from your account and then refunded (Very bad!) If you use cash for a deposit, it can become even more complicated with the hotel.

To have the fewest problems with deposits, I highly suggest using a credit card if at all possible. You won't need to present the card for the deposit until check in - it can be from anyone staying in the room.

Please also note that this Thursday is the live date for ATTENDEE hotel reservations, separate from the STAFF hotel process.

I was aware that staff has a separate hotel registration than attendees, however the information I received on Saturday implied staff went first and then excess rooms from the staff side got rolled into attendee registration, though it was slightly chaotic and information might have gotten muddled.

Not to worry - staff hotel rooms are still to come! You will have time to get roommates together to make arrangements. Information will go out by email and at the meetings detailing the process.

So my question is if i book a room for 4 nights through fanime, if i decided some time in the near future that i only want 3 nights, can i change that or do i have to cancel the entire booking and start from scratch?

I don't know 100% for sure, but I think in that situation you would just e-mail cmr housing and they would change it for you.

Could we get a staff member to confirm?

Should you need to make any changes to your reservation once it is booked, please email or call FanimeCon Housing (number and email will be on the hotel website). They will be able to assist with modifying your reservation.

Will Clockwork be at the same hotel it was at last year? Or will it be at the main convention location?

This may determine which hotel I'll reserve a room for.

The majority of the Clockwork Alchemy events will be held at the Doubletree (same hotel as last year).

Has anyone stayed at the Radisson that could give some feedback on their experience there?

They have the Sleep Number beds in all of the rooms! So awesome.

1 hour 25 minutes later and the Hilton and Marriott are BOTH sold out?  What about those of us with disabilities that need us to be in those hotels, or must we fend for themselves?
I'm disappointed, Fanime.

My apologies! Both the Hilton and the Marriott are very popular, and so are unable to accomodate all of our attendees. If those are the hotels that you would prefer to stay in, I'd reccomend contacting housing regarding being put on the waitlist- as FanimeCon gets closer, some attendees may cancel, freeing up rooms for those on the waitlist. In the past, housing has been rather successful with accomodating waitlist requests.

Yes, waitlists will be available for all hotels. Please submit your waitlist request to housing and they will update you should your requested room become available. Thanks!

There was some talking that there might be some suites available at the Hilton; any word on this yet? Even if they aren't at a discounted rate, are all the suites taken for staff?

Suites at the Hilton are not being offered for this year - my apologies!

Also, keep in mind that if you aren't able to get the exact hotel or room type that you want on the first try, get on the waitlist! The housing staff is great at trying to fulfill all waitlist requests should it be possible.
