Hotel: Hyatt Place

Pros:
1. Nice size room, was able to fit my 4 roommates comfortably.
2. Housekeeping staff was super nice and provided us with excellent service.
3. Free breakfast! (Have to be a Hyatt member)
4. Beds were comfortable and right across from convention center, which is nice!
5. Elevators aren't as bad as the Marriott and Fairmont. Less lines meaning easier access to the rooms.

Cons:
1. Late check-in. Came in at 1:45, and didn't check-in until 4:21 PM. Check-in was at 3 PM and staff could have told others (and myself), and let us know about the situation. Never had a late check-in at the Fairmont or Marriott.
2. Bathroom was a bit small.
3. Breakfast was a bit strict. One of my roommates signed up for to be a Hyatt member so she can get free breakfast, and there one time where I had to let them know that there were 2 people who are members. The lady was a bit rude. This happened twice, but I got my breakfast after having to explain the situation.

Overall, I had a great stay. The Fairmont is still my favorite hotel, but the convenience of right across the street was super-convenient. I would stay here again.

They gave me 1/17, but it looks like the all the good ones are taken. Maybe I'll just room with somebody if things don't turn out.

Stayed at Fairmont this year

Pros:
1. Easy check-in/check-out
2. Room was comfortable, and overall was very pleased
3. Good view, I got the room overlooking the pool
4. Elevators was much better than the Marriott (still had to wait at peak hours, but wait times were less)

Cons:
1. No Wi-Fi (complimentary at other hotels i.e. Marriott)
2. Pillows were terrible! Bring your own pillow if staying at the Fairmont
3. The fridge was full of their drinks, and you couldn't take things or else you had to pay for it. Wish they had another fridge to put our drinks in.

This is my 2nd time staying at the Fairmont, and overall I had a great stay. There were parties Friday and Saturday nights across the hall and rooms close to me, but I expected. Bring ear plugs or headphones if you plan on staying at any Fanime Hotel site. A much better experience than the hotel I booked at the Marriott in 2016. The Marriott beats the Fairmont when it comes to Wi-Fi, but I would still recommend the Fairmont. I'd give it a 4.5/5 stars.

I'm staying at the Fairmont, and I was charged 1 night's stay as the security deposit. As far as I know (from Marriott & Hilton past experiences), the money will be returned to you if the room is kept in order. It should take time (5-10 days; it varies hotel to hotel). They could also charge you an additional monies depending on the hotel itself. The amount that you are being estimated of being charged will be the grand total, abiding the fact that you keep the room in good order.

Basically, it's better if you use a credit card, not debit since the amount being charged will be deducted from the balance and won't be refunded until at a later time. Hope this helps.

I have the Fairmont hotel reserved from Thursday May 24th - Monday May 28th (Queen / King - No Rollaway Available). I'm asking for $150 for all 4 nights. So far I have 3 people staying at the hotel, and we get the bed. Your free to bring anything you want to sleep in (sleeping bag, air mattress, etc.). I'm okay with drinking (inside and outside of hotel is ok) and smoking (just not inside the room.) Here's a basic list of what I don't allow.

No Uninvited Guests
No Stealing

Let's have some fun, and hopefully I can meet new people along the way.

Hi I'm Mike. This is my 4th time attending Fanime, and I enjoy it every time I go. I'm going with my nephew to Fanime, and I can spare one more person. You'll be staying in the Sofa Bed so it should be comfortable and cozy. I couldn't get any hotels via the Fanime site since they sold out, and I tried the waitlist, and I was on it for 2 months, and no luck. I'm staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Campbell, which is 20 minutes away via VTA train so it'll be easy access to the convention center (free parking so you can park your car). No smoking, quiet time after 12 (coming home late is fine), no uninvited guests without permission, but drinking is fine.

Cost: $150 (can be negotiated) I'm staying from May 26-29th (Fr-Mon).

I don't have a FaceBook anymore, but you can contact me through this e-mail: [email protected]

I've been going to FanimeCon since 2013, and this would be the 4th time in a row. I usually attend this convention, and weeks later go to Anime Expo. I may not attend AX this year due to costs, and there's far too many people attending that one than in the past.

Introduction: My name is Mike from Pinole and 25 years old. I used to be a video gamer back in the day, but I'm currently an anime/manga person. I'm open-minded when it comes to anime/manga so I usually like a lot of genres. My ultimate favorites are One Piece, Fairy Tail, Nisekoi, Ranma 1/2, and a ton more. I'm relatively a "shy guy" so if your looking for a decently quiet roommate, I'm the guy.

I'm not picky about sleeping arrangements, as long as I can bring a twin airbed, I'm good. I'm not much of a drinker, but I don't mind others drinking. I prefer a room with no parties so I can get some decent sleep.

Hotel: Any hotel is fine. I prefer walking distance, but I'm okay with talking the train.

Requirements: I'd need a room key and space for my twin airbed would be the only requirements that I need.

Costs: As long as I'm paying my fair share, costs aren't an issue.

Contact info: PM me here or email me [email protected]

Thanks,
Mike
