I got the dress code covered. I have a suit and have only worn it once, so the ball would be good opportunity to have some fun with it.

I've never done anything like the ball and I'm wondering what would be a good way to be prepared for it?

Will attending the private lessons teach me enough for the ball? Or should I try going to a dance session for each type of dance? Looks like there's a lot. =p

I've been enjoying Ocarina of Time & Disgaea.
If you haven't heard of OC ReMix then you should check it out. It's a site that does nothing but remix video game music. I highly recommend Donkey Kong Country 2 & Street Fighter.

If you like the dark & gory stuff then I'd recommend Beserk and Shigurui.

For kickass female lead, Kite and Dead Leaves come to mind.

I don't know if all of those are on netflicks but I'm pretty sure Dead Leaves is, which is a fun movie.
