Four more days until Fanime (three, if you count Day 0). Just thought I would let everyone know that the location may change on the day of the gathering, but there will be staff members to direct everyone to the new location.

Well, I was hosting another gathering where the people seemed to have a preference for Friday, and I had a poll up on this thread that indicated people preferred Saturday, sooo... That's why I went with Saturday. I also made it early, just in case people had a later gathering they wanted to go to. But I can't please everyone. In my defense, I did put anytime on Sunday as a possibility on the form, and they decided to give me Saturday morning.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew of a possible carpool thread/site for Fanime? I wanted to save money on transportation (airfare can be a bit pricey, especially this close to the date), I really don't look forward to taking the Greyhound or whatever, and I don't drive. So, I would like to get a ride, if possible.

Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I am 30 years old. This is my third time going to Fanime, and the second that I've hosted a room. I am looking for three (possibly four, depending on the circumstances) other people to share a room with to help cut down costs, and I've never been a fan of an overcrowded room, so it'll just be the four (or five) of us.

+ Hotel Information: I currently have a room booked at the Doubletree from Wednesday-Monday. I know it is quite a bit away from the convention center, but there is a shuttle to the convention, and it is the location of Clockwork Alchemy, if that is of any interest. I am on the waitlist for a couple hotels closer, but I can't guarantee I'll get into them. I can also only guarantee three people keys, if it works as it did last year, so keep this in mind.

+ Costs: It will be $130 for the entire weekend if I get three other people to stay from Thursday-Monday, and you'll have to pay for your own parking if applicable. Feel free to also come Wednesday; it'll be a little extra, but there won't be as much stress if you have to fly in or take some other kind of transportation. I'll of course recalculate if something changes, such as getting moved to a different hotel, etc. I shall keep you updated as we go. Money should be paid upon arrival.

+ Requirements: This is an 18+ room. (I'm not interested in babysitting anyone while I am on what I consider to be my vacation.) Other than that, all I ask is that you be respectful of other people and their belongings, as well as the hotel/room, and be open to rooming with other genders and such. There will be two beds, so you can either share a bed or be prepared to sleep on the floor. I will also make sure there is a fridge, at the very least, so feel free to bring food.

+ Miscellaneous: I shall be cosplaying as Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle, Yona from Akatsuki no Yona/Yona of the Dawn (both regular version as well as my own pirate version that I'm putting together), and last (but not leadt) a pirate version of Natsu from Fairy Tail. I am a fan of various anime and tv shows, among other things. I also work in a candy store, so if you have a candy request, or need candy cigarettes for a cosplay... I can most likely hook you up, lol.

Note: So far, there will be two other ladies staying with me, in case you were wondering.

Was there an AkaYona gathering last year? If so, where did they meet up? Maybe that might be a good location to revisit. Or if not, I personally think the tree area by Marriott would be a good choice that's close to the main hub (con center).

There was an unofficial one, but I can't remember where it was, lol. Oh well, I submitted the form and chose a place that seemed right. Now, to just wait for a message.

Okay, just thought I update; looks like we have five "maybes" on the Facebook event, though no idea on who they'll be cosplaying, lol. I shall send in the request form today, I think. I shall try for a late Friday timeslot, but I think I'll keep Sunday as an open option. Any suggestions for location?

Sounds good to me! And I think I shall be sending in the application on my next day off or so... Which is Sunday. Any opinions on the locations? I've never participated in an official gathering before, lol.

Uh, I'm attempting to also get Gowther for 7 Deadly Sins together, and that gathering is Sat at 3-4, so... either hours before that or Fri/Sun works for us!

Lol, okay. I'll see what I can do. Morning does sound nice, especially for those of us wearing long-sleeved cosplays.

I'll be there as Howl, and might have a Sophie, but it'll depend if she gets the time to finish it!
