Another RB fan here. Yeah, it looks like Dance Central occupied RB's spot this year. It'd be neat if they had RB "concerts" on Stage Zero, which I heard they've done in years before(?). Especially since playing RB in full cosplay has always been a crazy wish of mine.

I have keyboard and guitars for PS3 if you need help "completing" the band. How safe is it to leave them in e-gaming? :)

Sadly, no Nintendo/Smash Bros. gathering was held at Fanime 2013, so I wanted to correct that unfortunate oversight for Fanime 2014. Perhaps the reveal of new Smash Bros. games for Wii U and 3DS will goose interest. But as the first post says, this gathering is for all Nintendo characters, so don't be shy if your character doesn't appear in Smash Bros. But bring Smash Bros. props if you got 'em! I'll be sure to bring my trusty Star Rod.

I'm planning to hold the gathering on Day 2 sometime, so we can get as many people as possible without competing with hotel check-in/con registration. But Day 1 worked well in previous years and if that works best for most, I'll certainly reconsider. Day 3 is when I'm planning on holding the Legend of Zelda gathering, and I'd like to keep Nintendo/Smash Bros. on a separate day so it can serve as a "second" gathering option for the Zelda people who might not be able to make the official one.

Not sure about the location, but I'm thinking somewhere with steps/levels would be cool so we can maybe simulate some shots in the multi-tier vein of Smash Bros. levels. I'd love to maybe use the big planter outside the Marriott, but I don't think we can use that for gatherings, so somewhere inside the convention center lobby is more likely.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions about anything, I'd love to hear 'em.

Greetings my loyal subjects, it is I, your Great King of Evil and since this is the timeline where Link was easily defeated by me like the puny weakling that he is (also known as The Most Logical Timeline, also known as The Awesomest Timeline), my reign of terror will continue as I host FanimeCon's Zelda cosplay gathering for my fourth consecutive year. As always, I look forward to seeing all your awesome costumes, whether you're a veteran of this shindig or a brand new face.

I'm currently planning on holding the '14 gathering on Day 3 (Sunday) just like the last two years. I'm also planning to host a Nintendo/Smash Bros. gathering in 2014, likely on Day 2 (Saturday), where I also hope to see plenty of Zelda representation. So if you can't make the main gathering, have another Zelda cosplay you want to show off or simply feel like wearing your favorite Zelda costume to two gatherings, then be sure to drop by the Nintendo/Smash Bros. gathering. (And if there is enough interest, we might be able to hold a separate Zelda gathering on Day 2 also. If that sounds cool, let me know!)

As for location, I'll ask for the same spot we've used the last few years (corner tree area between the Marriott and the convention center) unless there's a better suggestion out there. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to make this gathering even better, please share them here.

Thank you to everyone who attended. I had a blast as always making the people of Hyrule obey my every command--*ahem* I mean, it was my great pleasure to host the Zelda cosplay gathering. Hope to see you all (and more) next year! Post pics if you got 'em!

Were you Jet last year?

No, I was not. I wore Jet at Fanime '06-'11, but not last year. I've met that guy though, he's cool.

I think I can make the Friday gathering as Jet Black from Cowboy Bebop.

Maybe 4 or 5? The Old School Gathering's at 6, so I thought it might be neat to be closer to that. Let's see what time is good for Nina since she's coming in that morning.

Any particular reason we can't push this back a few hours? Friday doesn't look all that crowded yet for gatherings.

Our gathering time and location are now confirmed. The Zelda gathering will be held on Sunday at 2PM at the corner tree area near the Marriott, the same location the gathering was held the last three years. Tell your friends! (You can tell your foes too, if they're cosplaying Zelda.)

So me and my friend have a combonation cosplay where both of our costumes are Dead Rising/Zelda. So I'm seeing if it would be fine for me (Frank West/Guru Guru) and my friend (Chuck Greene/Happy Mask Salesman) to join your photo shoot?

Sure you can join us. That's why we have the "Other" category.    ;)

News Update: I can't post it yet until it's official, but I should have confirmation of our time and location soon.

A thought: I just saw that there's an "Old School" cosplay gathering on Friday at 6PM. Since we were planning on meeting late that day anyway, maybe some of us could stop by there too if we're interested.

On a related note, 2013 will mark the 15-year anniversary of the original airing of Cowboy Bebop. Wow.

As far as attending, I'm kind of in the same boat with Nina Star 9 where late-afternoon/evening of Day 1 or 2 would probably work best for me. I'm also doing a very makeup-intensive costume at least one of those days. I'm still not entirely sure I can make it to this, but seeing that there might be a good turnout this year makes it a lot more tempting. ;D

Your dog would be more then welcome but a warning: he will be mobbed. 

I was with a Bebop group at Anime Expo '09 and one couple brought their Corgi with them and we must have stood in the lobby for at least 30 minutes straight taking shots. I'm sure it's because the crowd around us was so big that it took so long for security to notice we had a dog with us.

Would it be okay as long as you kept the dog outside the convention center? (Though I guess doing that depends on how close you live to Fanime.) Of course with all the construction, there won't be much outdoor space this year.  :-\

I would love to show up as Jet Black if I can. Not sure how likely that is though.  :-\

For the Cowboy Beboppers: I was thinking of wearing my Jet Black on Day 0, at the very least.
