Well, my first experience with shmu--er, Fanime IRC was rather amusing. That's all I have to say.

IT'S MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW WRYYYYYYY

^ I think it was about...4 years ago. We went to Lake Lopez (most of the lake was evaporated at that point), and it was subpar at best, especially when I couldn't connect with the people there as easily because I didn't know them.
< Have fun at school next week! Hope you don't get bombarded with homework!
> I'm adding cards into my Japanese Anki deck. All the better to remember all of the unknown Japanese words I've yet to learn.
V Do you have any good tips on studying in college?

Oh, and I betcha most of the cat and mouse play against Light and L will be butchered a lot because American audiences are really stupid and can't really bother to pay much attention to--hey, wait a minute, Inception actually did really good in theaters? :o

^ The only viable arcade in the west coast: GOLFLAND. :D
< I wish arcades wouldn't disappear...they seem like really good places to enjoy arcade games and socialize with other arcade gamers. It seems like arcade developers have to REALLY innovate if they want to please in the arcades, and even so, a bunch of gamers here in the west are simply just too appeased by console games and online play at home to actually get off their butts and spend some bucks at a freakin' arcade. Hell, we just recently discovered the advent of FREAKIN' INTERNET CONNECTIVITY in arcades, what with games like DJ Max Technika, DDR X, and a select few arcade racers being released (even though DDR X in America is a piece of crap and eAmusement costs a crapton of money a month to scare away small, niche arcades from implementing the system). Too bad the west seems to find many ways to complain about everything, especially when it comes to arcade games ("Oooh, why can't we just play this crap at home instead of paying money to play it, what the heck?"), and along that, the kids find many ways to DESTROY things, ESPECIALLY arcade games. Bundle that with subpar maintenance and yeah, I'm extremely pissed that arcades seem to not have much of a fighting chance in the west.

Sorry about the long rant, it's just a really passionate subject for me, especially considering the fact that I was actually SCARED of most arcade games back in the day. I never got a good opportunity to play these games, and I wish I could go back in time and play those games.

TL;DR - I'm extremely pissed that arcades are slowly dying, but I'm more pissed that arcades are trying their best to innovate to no avail.
> Sigh...that previous statement pooped me out. I'm gonna have breakfast now.
V What's one thing that you're really passionate about?

^ Pizza at BJ's. Mmmmm...pizza....[/Homer]
< Just do something. As long as it isn't stupid lol
> I just came back from BJ's, the mall, and Chuck E' Cheeses. Even though the games are only one token, it's pretty sad that the condition of the games that are in that place have to suffer. It's like every kid that goes to Chuck E' Cheeses thinks that every game is like a little kiddy ride when some of them aren't, and that kind of irks me a bit.
V What are a few things that irk you in life?

^ I alternate between cereal and eggs with bread. :)
< There's more than one way to "leave"? lol
> My friend and I were downloading and playing iPhone games last night. My friend introduced me to a few decent games and we sorta duked it out over OpenFeint.
V What's your favorite food...when you were a child?

^ I don't have lucky numbers. I just...GUESS. XD Then again, I don't particularly play the lottery, so yeah.
< I'm also in desperate need for money balance, especially when my intended goal is to spend $400-500 at Fanime next year. Not to mention college, other leisure things (like Golfland), investing in music equipment, yeah.
> I'm trying to make a beat for my brother right now. While I'm not particularly in to hip-hop, I'm just doing it so I can get my bro off my back about "making beats". I'm personally more of a song-oriented person than my brother is (whose music collection is roughly 97% hip-hop and rap), so this makes my job all the more difficult for me because I have to think in a way I'm not used to.
V Did you ever have to do anything that was "outside your comfort zone"?

^ I've been mostly buying off of Right Stuf, but if you're talking about strictly walk-in stores, then Best Buy. Best Buy, unfortunately, has been trimming its anime selection lately, so I'm better off getting my anime from Right Stuf.
< MOTHER.
> I recently finished watching AMV Hell 4 and, for some reason, started watching Excel Saga. Also, I found this person who did a live play of Pikachu Genki Dechuu, and I'm not gonna lie, I personally thought that this was a Japanese kid actually doing a Let's Play of a video game at first. Then I found out...it was just a Japanese language learner living in Japan. (I should've known better, especially when this person was pretty much questioning and commenting on a lot of things throughout these videos)
V Do you know any other languages besides English?
#14
^ When I went to Golfland with my friend and his SSBB posse. I was tired on the walk home, but DAYUM, was I satisfied.
< SQUEEEEEEE
> Maybe I might compose something soon. Not to mention that I also have to make hip-hop stuff for my brother....
V Name one anime that you've watched that you least expected to be a tear jerker that didn't originate from a Key Visual Arts visual novel. Are you one to conform to today's trends or do you just do your own thing?
#15
^ Using the computer so much, I forget to do other things. Yeah, I know, it's not really healthy and stuff....
< Hey, you'll also find employment for thousands of others if your business ends up being successful. I say, best of luck to ye!
> I'm finally getting to programming my video game (now titled Nations of Yyrkyvak), and I'm still trying to craft elements for my light novel.
V What's the number one thing you fear?
#16
^ I don't really remember any random things from other people...though I do tend to pull off a non-sequitir every now and then.
< Subtitles/Closed Captioning is fun. It's too bad almost everyone does English subs for anime...I wish there were also Japanese subs considering that 1) anime never gets any closed captioning support back in Japan (or so I've heard) and 2) some people learning Japanese could greatly benefit from it.
> I often listen to music as inspiration to write stuff...only I haven't written anything yet. Hopefully I can get to writing soon, especially since my dreams can come up with some good plot.
V Do you think cliches are bad for you?
#17
^ Hey. People like what they like, so I have no complaints.
< The only bloody thing I know of that's extensively bloody is Elfen Lied. Higurashi could also count as well, but Elfen Lied really takes the cake for all of the blood and gore and...yeah.
> I'm thinking about writing a light novel.
V Would you ever read a light novel?
#18
^ The only clothes I borrow are socks. ;)
< I'm too lazy to watch so much anime in such a short time....
> I've been listening to the Hetalia: Axis Powers Season Two trailer from Funimation nonstop...man, I wish I can get the DVDs. Oh, and I also just recently signed up for the Got Anime? Purchasing Club at Right Stuf, meaning 10% off titles!
V Do you think the whole sub vs. dub debate in the western anime community is stupid?
#19
^ No, but I wear very loose shorts that start to seem like short shorts when they're actually not.
< Someone's obsessed with short shorts lol
> Turns out...I can draw, too. The thing is that I need to KEEP on drawing if I ever hope to improve. Create my own art style while I'm at it, too, so that way I can have a distinctive look if I ever get to manga drawings.
V If you play Para Para Paradise, what do you think about Freestyle mode? Do you think it's a great way to go crazy and pull off some sweet moves, or do you think it's just an excuse to flail your arms like an idiot?
#20
^ White. White clothes are typically what I wear for my jammies.
< Personally dislikes sushi after trying one out. Instead, I prefer tamagoyaki, which is pretty much rolled-up beaten eggs with sugar and soy sauce.
> I'm trying to program a stats-based simulation/strategy game at the moment.
V If you were to dye your hair, which color would you dye it?
