There must be a Cthulhu for President picture in there somewhere. If there isn't, you better believe an intern is going to suffer.

Panels and Workshops / Re: 2012 Panels
April 30, 2012, 09:51:32 AM
If we have our time (at least, I think I have my time slot), is it safe to post it for others to see? I remember last year we were asked not to post our times until the schedule had been locked down completely.

Also, I have a handful of friends who aren't planning on being at Fanime, but just want to come to my panel. Assuming it isn't an insane number of people, is it alright for them to attend just that one panel?

Huzzah!  Entry submitted!
Just curious, but which night will the Competition be on?

We've pegged it down for Saturday at midnight (Saturday to Sunday morning).

I wonder, if people go over the time limit, do you have a gong of a guy dressed in black who plays a trumpet like on Sabado Gigante?

What will the Old God do for economic reform in this grand nation!? :U

Excellent question! Cthulhu has many plans for the economy, and I will be covering them in depth at the panel. Be there, or suffer a horrific fate!

You forgot this:

11. Bribery. A little bribery never hurt anyone, right?

Was going to save this for the panel but here goes...

Last time Cthulhu ran for president/supreme entity of horrors, he was beaten by dark horse candidate "A Boat Ramming Into Him".  Is the campaign taking this into consideration?  If I'm going to invest any time or money in this endeavor, I need to be sure that our dark lord will not succumb to any nautical mishaps.

I've been informed that the above mentioned event was taken far out of proportion and that Cthulhu was not "beaten" as you put it. Indeed, that was not so much "A Boat Ramming Into Him" as "Zoth-Ommog cannot steer worth a damn".

I have been informed by one of my communications staff that I have been remiss in not promoting our Facebook page.

There, I did it. Maybe now I can get to some real politics.

Oooo!  I can't wait!  I already have the rough cut of mine done, but the tentacle award presents a new challenge.  Are we allowed to submit more than one entry?

Sure, feel free to submit more than one.

I just need to find the perfect song now. I had silver last year, but this year I'm gonna get the gold(I'm sure in hentai context this sounds wrong).

Golden tentacle perhaps?

Do you need a panelist who doesn't know anything about Hetalia?

IF SO, the campaign manager for the Cthulhu for President campaign is more than willing to crash/participate in your panel.

Who are you? And what do you stand for? But most importantly can you count to muffens?

I'm the campaign manager for the Cthulhu for President Campaign! I would have thought that was obvious by now.

Cthulhu stands for many things, so you need to be specific.

Damnit, we have an election happening this year and so far almost no questions?

Come on people, ask the Cthulhu for President campaign something!

Fanime did have rules against Yuri and Yaoi entries for the 2010 HMV contest, I can see the concern.

But yeah, something about sexuality and gender identity and issues in manga and anime and how it relates to Japanese culture would be worth it for people with such an interest.

Speaking as the guy running the HMVs back then, the reason that happened wasn't really due to controversy. It was something else. That has since been fixed.

Contest Director's Pick (Chosen by Contest Director)
Audience's pick (Chosen by Audience) :

We're still in the planning stage, but that is the current plan, yes

Woo, approved!

Not on Saturday this time, but it sounds like the big room was pretty well locked up well ahead of time. At least, I think we're going to be in the big room...

Mind you, no room is big enough for the insanity that is CTHULHU FOR PRESIDENT

glad to see this is back for another year. Better yet, Chtulhu managed to run a campaign from one presidential election year to another.

Cthulhu is Eternal!

I am not, but someone must continue the campaign.

I'm making a note of any questions asked here for the panel. I'm not ignoring you anymore than I normally ignore everyone.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: 1 hour 25 minutes later...

I think it is preferable to get rooms outside of the convention within walking distance. I've found it makes it easier when dealing with elevators and with crowds. Plus, I think the Fairmont is nicer anyways.

I do agree that the Hilton and Marriott filled up mighty fast though.

In the grandiose (and arrogant) assumption that the Cthulhu for President panel will be approved for Fanime 2012, I would like to open up this thread for people to ask questions that they would like to have answered by the campaign.

I'm also curious to see if anyone is interested in another panel idea the campaign has: Cthulhu's guide to Politics. Anyone think that might be interesting, especially since it is an election year?
