^ Really excited for the DA gathering and the panel this year!
< Congrats on putting on your binder! Just remember to be safe and not wear it for too long without breaks :)

Dealers Room / Re: Your Shopping List
May 11, 2015, 09:22:18 PM
I really hope Sanshee has a booth in the Dealer's Hall so I can get some cool Dragon Age stuff. Besides that, I'll be on the look out for art prints and posters for Steven Universe, LOK, Dragon Age, and Persona from the Artist's Alley :)

Also in the market for a nice cinch bag, but sadly I haven't come across any I like in the last year.

^ Kino's Journey is older but one of my all time favorites.
<  I hope you have a great time at Fanime this year!
>  I'm handing out Dragon Age Inquisition ribbons and Up ribbons this year since I'm spending time at both Fanime and Clockwork Alchemy.
V  Are there any panels you really want to attend?

While I can't think of any suggestions besides using PAX, I will say that if you don't remove the hair from wherever you're going to apply it, it'll be painful to remove. I used the stuff on my arms for Halloween as Marshall Lee a few years ago and accidentally applied too far up past where I shaved and it was a total pain to remove. Harsh scrubbing because I couldn't get it to peel off like I could with other spots. PAX seemed to be relatively water proof though (at least when I washed my hands) and it didn't rub off unless I started to dig my nails into it to remove it on purpose.

Really sorry I can't help besides giving you a tidbit on using PAX. Good luck!

In no particular order:

VAs - Clarine Harp, Caitlin Glass, Monica Rial, Erica Mendez, Christine Cabanos, Steven Blum
Seiyuu - Rie Tanaka, Megumi Ogata, Miyuki Sawashiro
Cosplayers - Mango Sirene, Courtoon, Aicosu, Twinfools, Kimba Sprite

Dream guest would be Allegra Clark who voiced Josephine Montilyet in Dragon Age: Inquisition. But since she hasn't voiced anyone in an anime series it's super unlikely she would be invited but aaah total dream guest.

Definitely going to try and go to this gathering if I can't make it to the extended gathering too. I'll be dressed as Russell from Up and I'll have Ellie badge inspired ribbons for anyone interested :)

Looking forward to the gathering and hopefully I can make it to the panel! You can also replace the +1 for Varric with my username :)

If you don't mind taking the time, I would suggest going back to wherever you're staying and dropping off anything you bought or don't want to carry for a long time. Less likely to have it left somewhere by accident or stolen, too.

I think that depends entirely on you. Personally, I know a lot of people who go to Fanime in cosplay and don't need an emergency sewing kit despite having one on hand, but it does come in handy for others because Fanime is crowded and accidents can happen. I would also suggest keeping any specialty makeup you need (for specific skin types, colored foundation, etc) on hand for touch ups in case it gets rubbed off/messed up in any way.

Oh, and a check list for when you leave so you don't forget anything in the hotel room doesn't hurt.

Which hotel will you be staying at? There's a Safeway and a handful of other convenience stores around the Fairmont, in addition to all of the restaurants in the area. But keep in mind that if you eat out anywhere, you are downtown so food can be pretty expensive. (Although, I would recommend the crepe cafe called Whispers in the area since it isn't too expensive and pretty filling.) And will you be cosplaying?

For items:
Extra toiletries and personal items just in case
Spare pair of comfortable shoes
Refillable water bottle (one of those 24oz that you can pick up from Target or something for $20)
Bag to hold anything you buy (the swag bags can only hold so much)

For your budget, it depends on how much you're willing to spend and how much impulse control you have. Usually I have around $500 total for the entire convention in cash, which gets split into $100 a day solely for merchandise and an extra $100 in emergency money. Kind of excessive, but Artist's Alley just draws me in and I'm terrible at impulse control. It never hurts to have extra cash on hand to avoid withdrawing money from an ATM. Plus, not every seller will accept card. I think in Artist's Alley it isn't unusual to see sales from most of them along the lines of 2-3 posters for $20-$30 depending on the artist, so keep an eye out.

As long as the Dragon Age gathering isn't on Saturday, expect a Russell from UP! Plus Ellie Badge inspired ribbons for anyone interested :)

Aside from telling you to have fun and enjoy your time at Fanime? I'd say look into any gatherings that would interest you and try to make it to them. A lot of the artists in the Artist's Alley are really nice, especially if they aren't busy so it never hurts to strike up a conversation with them.

Also, eating food and drinking water are really important during the convention. Like, seriously please take care of yourself because it sucks going a whole con day without eating or drinking anything in that heat. Luckily, there are a good number of places around the convention center and the surrounding hotels that have pretty good food, maybe use Yelp or something to find places to eat. Some cosplay gatherings also go out to eat afterwards (but I'm not sure which ones specifically).

I would love for there to be a GF gathering! Provided it doesn't conflict with anything on my end (basically all of Sunday...ha... OTL) I'll be sure to stop by
