For people who aren't familiar with Farout toys it is on Jackson st between fourth and fifth st.
Closer to fourth st.
I can give better directions if needed.
**********Update***********
Okay, I don't know how to close the poll, but Sunday has won and I already requested it off.
Cosplayers and non-cosplayers are all welcomed.
time: 11am till however long you want to stay.
I'm trying to have a new costume done by then, lets hope I manage to finish.

I've gone to the Obon festival in the past. It's fairly fun, and conveniently located. I've never bothered to cosplay for it, though.
Sounds good to me.
Sunday sounds good to me, as I have work on Saturdays
unfortunately I'll be in Sacramento for Sac-Anime that takes place on that weekend D=
sorry guys but have fun for those who can't make it to sac-anime! ^^
I'm not sure if I'm going to Sacramento or not. If not I'll stop on by if I'm not working. :]
I might go.
I normally work on Sunday's. So if it is a Saturday I should be able to go.
Edit: fixed post, was looking at June instead of July
Quote from: "shortpachoo"I normally work on Thurs/Fri's. There is a possibly of me taking it off just need to know when.

okay, I edited the first post with day and time.
Sunday the 15th, starting at 11am.
hmm is that the teeny shop on the 2nd floor of its building?
I don't have intention of cosplaying, but i'd like to meet new people with similar interests :) I'd probably come.

No, that's Nikaku that's the second-floor store on the east side of Japantown. Farout Toys is in a 1st-story store closer to the west side of Japantown.

Okay Starting point is the Nijiya Market, from there can you tell me where to go?
Just go west a few blocks or so. It'll be on your right-hand side as you head west.

D: i wish I could go
Ride plz surrr
I hope to be there tomorrow.
the store is located on jackson between fourth and fifth. Usually the street festival is on jackson between fourth and sixth, with a little bit extending out on fifth. Far out toys will be on one end of the festival. It's between a Nail spa and an insurance office.
and today he's having a maid cafe. I didn't post about it because I didn't know about it untill a few days ago and also thought it was going to be on sunday. I figured it be would have been a fun surprise for the gathering.

It's too bad I didn't work this Saturday, I actually start working at Farout Toys next Saturday (and every Saturday after that) from 1 to 4. I stopped by today though. ^^;

that's so cool that you will be working there.
I talked to Izzy and he said that the maid cafe would most likely be going on sunday as well. I guess I should get some sleep now. see everyone there.
I went Saturday night with some people after the No-Name showing. Had some good food. Saw some of the Obon Odori (festival dancing). Saw a walking advertisement for the maid cafe. Go today if you can!
If you missed this weekend's obon festival, the second-largest will be in Mountain View on 7/21-7/22. Looks like enough people on this thread missed this weekend, so I figure I'll start up another one for 7/22. Yes, you want to go to the Raging Waters picnic that weekend, too. :D

Well, I didn't see a whole lot of people this time around, but I still had a good time hanging at Farout. I even picked up a figure that caught my eye back during the Cherry Blossom Festival gathering, though I wasn't sure which character it was or what anime or game she was from. Anyone mind filling me in?
Here's the figure in question:

So I actually came over today, and it was quite nice.
Yeah, yesterday at the obon festival was nice. Good food. Interesting dancing. Good company. Waiiii~!
I went, but spent most of my time in FarOut Toys watching Anime and conversing with Lady Hoshi.
