Title: Dinner before Dancing
Post by: deonchan on March 13, 2008, 06:13:18 PM
Ok here's one.

For those folks who are planning to attend the black and white ball, how bout ($$ pending of course) we hit up a nice classy upscale restaurant before hand. It would make for an awesome night and what better then 10-25+ Anime fans in tuxs suits, gowns, etc taking over some black tie affair restaurant (ie - Bing Crosby's) for a few hours.   ;D

EDIT:

Here's the current list of people so said they would attend (I used user names because IR Lazy... and arn't sure on a few >.<)

DemonLordZabu
Shi_Musouka

Evangelion Xgouki

For a second I thought you were referring to Dennys and Claim Jumper as classy and upscale. Scared me for a second

I'm totally in.  does anybody if they have dance lessons again? umm, i'm hoping my outfit counts.  I don't have a tux so I was just gonna wear the Black Kazekage Gaara robe thing, and then maybe add some white accessories? Still plenty of shopping time, so I would appreciate any suggestions.

All of these places are less than a mile from the con (71 being the "longest walk" at .7 miles)

So we have some choices let make it happen!

I'm not going to this...but just a fair warning to everyone.  We went to Paolo's last year before Play!  It sucked.  It cost too much and the food was just plain nasty.  I'd suggest one of the other choices if I were you.

Deonchan, Paolo's is closed on Sundays. So it's out of the question.
http://www.paolos.com/about.html (http://www.paolos.com/about.html)

For the second one I couldn't find the times, but it actually looks good.

I've never been to McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, but it looks like there's a lot of options there, might be good if you're taking a lot of people with you.  Then again the portions look pretty big. A lot of seafood too, I'm not sure if I want to smell like seafood by the end of the dinner. =P

Overall, I think I'd want to go to the 71 Saint Peter the most, but they're also not open on Sundays.
http://www.71saintpeter.com/contact.asp (http://www.71saintpeter.com/contact.asp)

Let me go look around for some places also.

Edit: I realize there's an Il Fornaio Italian restaurant around the area. I've always wanted to try eating there, what do you think?

maybe if im lucky ill actually have a date this year!

and JT sometimes u got to live a little.

if you could spend $49.99 on a video game. you could afford a $20 steak platter and dress up nice for the ladies.   ;)

$49.99 allocated among the x amount of months it is expected to entertain me during this school year made it a good purchase.  :D

I'm all for living it up (probably going to get peking duck with my god sister during fanime), but I'm planning to build my new computer by the end of June.  Being still in my spring semester, I still look at my spending in a budgeted college student's point of view.  My uncle is also a lover of cooking steak X amounts of ways, so rather than paying for a $20 steak, I can pay $8 for that same steak and cook it for a girl myself. ;)  I think that pulls more brownie points. :o

Not hating on you guys eating out, I hope you all enjoy.  I'm just stating my rationale to not eating out with you guys. :)

Well looks like I'm gonna have to cancel this one. Musicfest (once of the special events that I work) is the same time as B&W ball :(
So unless someone wants to pick up the fumbled ball this one is done.
