Option 2: blasphemy!/Nay

I just felt like asking because I was thinking about the "debate" a while ago as I tried a Nathan's Famous dog at SJSU and put ketchup on it. I dunno.
As for me I say yay. I happen to like the way it tastes.
So, share why you are ok or NOT ok with putting ketchup on hot dogs.
Yay.
Why wouldn't it be?
Is there some Taboo about using Ketchup on Hot Dogs I am unaware of?
Now all I need is the Mustard, Relish, and a slice cheese milted around the dog and we are good to go!
Yay! Why not? It's a good combination, like peanut butter and jelly. But I usually customize mine with these combinations:
a) ketchup, mayo, onions, jalapeño and nacho cheese.
b) ketchup, onions, jalapeño and ranch dressing.
or
c) My ultimate combo - ketchup, mayo, onions, jalapeño, ranch dressing, chili sauce, and melted nacho cheese.
I go a bit overboard when it comes to eating hotdogs. :D
I'm perfectly OK with putting ketchup on my hot dogs. I grew up doing that, and now I just put ketchup and mustard together on my hot dogs.

Apparently, there is. Put "ketchup on hot dogs" into a Google search if you dare. Here is an example:

Wow, 7 votes for yay.
It must be a East Coast thing...
I prefer to taste the hotdog on it's own, i'd rather not add ketchup. Ketchup is for bad hotdogs, in my opinion. Of course if you've already found a good hot dog and you want to try it with ketchup then go ahead.
If you like hot dogs and are near SJSU you NEED to try this place
Top Dog on 11th and San Carlos.
Its right next to a 7-11 across the street from SJSU

I had an apple turkey hot dog there once and it was amazing.
Usually, I'll put a little ketchup, mustard, and relish on a dog. I see no problem with it...
Unless its a specialty dog like a "Top Dog" or cheddarwurst
Aren't hot dogs supposed to have ketchup on them? That's like one of the staples of the hot dog. Every time I see a picture of a hotdog, there's always some ketchup on it. I guess there might be some special hot dogs out there that are ruined if you put stuff on it. But those aren't normal hot dogs.
Personally I haven't had a "Real" hotdog in years but when I'm at home I'll make something with hotdog in it, I add ketchup. Thats the way my fathers did it,l thats how I do it ,and thats how my children well do it, and all those "hotdog Nazis on the east coast can have a flavorless frankfurter.

Saved.
I haven't been able to eat a hot dog or sausage since I saw the you tube video of where hot dogs come from...but BEFORE the traumatizing experience I would put ketchup and relish and jalapenos!! I always have to have a pepper of some sort with more of my meals!
