AHHH!!
brb dying of flattery ahh
(Thank you!)

I am looking forward to your panel, too! I'm really glad they didn't do something silly like scheduling conflicts between different SnK events because I want to see ALL THE THINGS.

We had to really work with the Panels/Fan Events Coordinator on that issue. That is one of the reasons we had such late notifications for the approval, time, date, room, etc. Fan Events staff were actually considerate enough to rearrange and make a new room just for our two Fan Events due to the room set-up and space we needed. The normal Fan Events room wouldn't be large enough or be able to have a special chair layout. It was a lot of headache on both parties, but in the end it worked out okay.

We'll definitely keep an eye out for you at the two Fan Events!

Our panel (Attack on Fanime: Humanity vs Titans) made a promo video to show on stage zero.
We also have it up online and you can check it out here:

Hope you enjoy it XD

Aw! Cute you guys! You all did a great job, especially Marco-cutie! Can't wait to see what the panel will be like!

Our promos couldn't have our cosplayers together (we're from all over Louisiana, New York, California, Oregon, Vigrinia, etc) for a video, so our's is super standard.

MaigoLily, they originally had us in "The Valley," but they have made arrangements to have one of the large panel rooms divided into two so we can have the room set as we asked for game-play and interaction with the audience. It will probably hold about 500 people with the way we asked to have the room arranged.

We asked for several rows or chairs separated in sections that are facing to a center aisle. Kind of like a runway/catwalk is, with chairs on each side of the aisle, but sectioned into smaller groups so we can have "teams/squads."

You should keep in mind that there is every possibility that the gathering will run longer then expected (I believe it is planned to end at 2:30 and your fan event starts at 3 right?). So you might not get a chance to make an announcement at the end of the gathering. You will also need someone to check in "30-45 minutes prior to the start of their panel" it probably only needs to be one person but I would keep that in mind too.

We actually have two Fan Events, buy one will be Friday 11pm-1am.

Yes, we are aware that the gathering may(and most likely will) run longer, it is unfortunate but this was the latest time we could get and still have the layout of the room the way we needed it to be. We have 10+ panelists, so check-in shouldn't be a problem. I will double check with the Fan Events coordinator on that note to be sure.

We're hoping that many of the cosplayers/attendees will head to the Fan Event though. It's going to be a lot of fun of the attendees and audience participants! Who doesn't want to the chance to "kill" a Titan pinata or see how fast that can "devour" soldiers as a titan, right?

It's a two hour Fan Event, so even if it does run over, people can still make their way over after everyone finishes at the gathering. We didn't want to compete with anything else Attack on Titan, but in the end we has to settle for a time close to the gathering time. Better than overlapping with the chopped cosplay contest or the morning AoT panel.

Thank you for the notice about this problem. I wasn't aware of this issue. Please delete the post and I will move to my alternative thread on cosplay.com. Sorry about the inconveniences.

Of course you can, we may be running out of time towards the end, but I can always ask permission to see if I can stretch the gathering time a bit. You event sounds so exciting! Have you had gotten the event approved yet?

Yes, it is approved and ready to go! Just waiting on Fan Events to get back to us about the times and rooming. We will update and post a link to all the information as soon as we can confirm. Right now you can take a look at our thread for more info about the Events:

We are putting the last touches on the games for both Fan Events and panelist (all 15 of us).

We know that the 18+ panel(Shinegeki no Sleepover) will be on Friday, and will be late.
The All Ages (Shingeki no Shenanigans) will be on Saturday, and will be late afternoon or early evening.

We will be attending as Eren and Levi. (possibly with our full group who will be running two Fan Events with us) We are only missing Marco, Reiner, Bert, and Connie atm.

Would it be possible for us to announce our SnK Fan Event to everyone at the gathering; both before and after all the photo ops? The Fan Event will be after the gathering, we'd love it if a lot of the people were able to attend and join in the games since it will be nearby the photoshoot location. It will be interactive and game-based.

Panels and Workshops / Re: Fan Events - Status
May 05, 2014, 08:29:36 AM
Any word yet as to the dates and times of at least some of the Fan Events? A lot of us would like to plan other things around our time at Fanime. Photoshoots, gatherings, and panels. I know our group would have like to put together something to show on Stage Zero as an advertisement, but we still don't have times or dates. We would have liked to promote more online(forums, groups, and social media) as well, but we now has less than a month and it seems irrelevant.

Thank you for getting all these things lined up. I know it has got to be a mess and chaos. We just want to contribute the best Event possible and we feel the mis-communication has dampened our abilities.

Panels and Workshops / Re: Status of Panel Approvals
April 14, 2014, 06:58:16 PM
I'm feeling the same way about the fan events. Nothing. I've emailed them and I'm not even getting a reply back from them. I've emailed panels and they actually take the time to get back with you. I'm wondering if we should just resubmit our fan events as a panel instead.

I have a huge group of 15 people waiting to hear about whether or not our stuff is go so I can start buying things to run it. It's getting so late that I'm nearly pulling my hair out with anxiety.

To make things easier for you all we're posting up a list of the characters we still need for the panel:

Bertholdt, Reiner, Connie

We, unfortunately are not casting deceased characters despite how loved a lot of them seem to be. :( We may open up parts of miscellaneous characters like Mike, Pyxis, etc if we have enough interested in them, but none of them are really necessary for our all ages panel since I have the games sorted out as is and with the characters we have right now.

I will keep you all updated if something happens and a cast member has to drop out due to some unforeseeable circumstance, but right now we have all dedicated ourselves to the events.

Still no official word from Fanime fan events about the approval for either either. We're hoping to hear from them soon since we are coming down to the end, time-wise... In about a week I'll post up some "spoilers" for the games we'll be playing to get you all pumped for what we have in store for you all!

As always, we're happy to address anything with you all!

Takaomi: We are currently not looking for a Sasha for the panel. However we will add your name to the list of people who are interested in being cast if someone is unable to make it.

We aren't looking for any characters who are deceased, as we want to fill all the living characters first, but if we decide to up those roles up we will let you know.

Hopefully Fanime will give us the go on both of these! We are super excited about bringing these to Fanime.

Simbaserket: Thank you for the interest in participating in the Events, however Annie has already been cast.

Regarless, we all hope we'll be able to see you at the Events though!

Hoping to let you all know soon if the fan event gets approved! Be on the look out! We've had a good amount of questions through our email, but feel free to ask away here as well! :D

Hi there! Long time panelists and cosplayers, but our first time attending a California con (we're mostly East Coast cosplayers and con attendees). We're really excited about what we have to offer to you guys at FanimeCon 2014 and here on the West Coast! We've done a lot of different events and panels in the past, but the most popular are our Death Note Murder Mystery, Ouran Murder Mystery, and Ouran Host Club Challenge.

This year we're jumping on the Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan bandwagon! This Fan Event has been in the works since last year, so hopefully we'll make it a huge success, super interactive, and fun!

Shingeki no Shenanigans (All Ages)

Time: 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Date: Saturday
Location: Fan Events Room (The Valley) in the Fairmont

Join the Scouting Legion as they train everyone for combat outside of the Walls against the Titans. Be prepared to work as a team to earn points to gain the title of Humanity's Strongest! Sie sind das Essen und wir sind das Jaeger.

This is a "boot camp" kind of panel, where the audience will be participating in games that have some kind of link to what recruits in the Recon Corps might participate in (for exact game titles you'll have to wait closer to the con since telling you those now might spoil some of the excitement). Panelists will be playing as characters from the series, and each character will have its own team to compete for the title of Humanity's Strongest! And, as always, if there's any time after the games, we'll be happy to allow for photo-ops and Q&A.

-----------------

Shingeki no Sleepover (18+)

Time: 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM
Date: Friday
Location: Fan Events Room (The Valley) in the Fairmont

What happens when the Scouting Legion is off duty and away from the dangerous Titans that threaten humanity? They play "games" and tell bad jokes! Make sure to bring your i.d. as this is an 18+ event!

Following the success and enjoyment of helping to run an SnK 18+ panel at KatsuCon, we're deciding to propose one for Fanime as well! Here the panelists won't be worried about keeping the panel too family friendly, but you can expect the same kind of fun with our games here as well. But, don't worry it's not the ol' boring Spin the Bottle and Truth or Dare. The Recon Corps has a good amount of naughty up their sleeves! Again, the exact games won't be released until closer to the con, sorry guys!

-----------------

We have a limited amount of characters still need to be filled for our cast and if you're interested, please email us at splitimagecosplay(@)yahoo.com for more information. Any other questions or concerns can be addressed through this thread! :D
