I'm really surprised the tables sold out!  The last couple of years I've gone there's always been some tables left until Saturday or Sunday.  From the map it doesn't look like the number of tables got reduced.  Were there just a lot more people interested this year? O_O

Yeah, from a friend, I heard that this year's table filled up quickly, but there is likely going to be some people dropping out as usual (Come on, can an artist work on deadlines? lol, I can but some of us can't) XD

But, from where I was on the map, it seems like the sheet should be done going around...  Since there wasn't much space left on where I was. D:

I suppose so, but still, the Tropicana is like at the end of the strip with the older hotels, lol.  But, the GVR was sure a nicer place as a venue.  Maybe not so much as places to do, but it was a nice hotel though.

Guilty Gear I know had problems because the participants were late?  That's what I heard...

But, with VF 5's 360 Release, it would have been exciting to see the turnout, seeing with the online feature would stir up some people...
It says on the site its the first time it's going to be on the Strip.  So, I guess it's heir first time there.

Tropicana isn't at the end of the strip. It's central, it's right next to all the major hotels. This is one of the greatest things that could have happened.

GG had lots of complications.

Last year had Bronson throwing his MAS which was the best part of EVO.

Chloe: Why do you talk as if... you go to EVO and you actually play/compete/do anything?
bronson still has that stick.  the triangle and circle don't work, lol. so he has to set the buttons to the left 4.  the stick is just fine. =)

and yes, chloe's asshole boyfriend goes to EVO and chloe is dragged to all of the local tournaments that he goes to. *can vouche* of course, ohsu didn't enter tekken like HE WAS SUPPOSED TO.
im pretty sure she goes with her BF. she doesnt play, but thats about it.
JTChinoy:  But, he did compete in Tekken at EVO.  It's not like he drags me to the tournaments necessarily. I go not only to watch him participate, but I get to see friends like you and others I know. I enjoy watching even though I don't play the games. Are you going to go to EVO this year?  BTW, when is the next SJSU Tourney?  I'll probably see you then.

Pyron:  Well, when I looked at The Strip map, I saw it at the end by Excalibur and MGM Grand...  I do play fighting games like SCII/III/DOA/Virtua Fighter and some Tekken. I may not play at a high competitive level, but I have attend SFSU, SJSU, and SGVL tournaments with Ohsu often.

Otaku:  I do play games.  I don't think I've ever met you, that's why you don't know that I do play.  I've always seen you on the BB, but never actually met you.

Line-up looks gay this year. S:

I liked last years more...  There's barely any 3D Fighters, and there's not Guilty Gear.  It seems so barren compared to last years.  Plus, a hotel change?  The GVR is like, an uber fancy hotel, and there' moving it over to the Tropicana?  Lammme. D:

Then again, the Tropicana is on the Strip itself. From what I understand, there wasn't much to do outside of the GVR (people would have to travel for miles to get to the Strip.)
As for the line up, it is that way because of last years time problems. 8 games are apparently too much work for the EVO staff, I'm thinking.
Has EVO been to the Tropicana before?

Cool this is the day after the play I am directing and doing tech on closes. So I can actually make it this year.

No cosplay though... I haven't come up with anything yet for Fanime. So I doubt I'll have one by then.

You'd best come, cosplay or not. D:

I got an e-mail a couple of days ago telling me a confirmation will come soon, but not the confirmation itself. ;_;

Same...

Has anyone got alot of things done yet?  We may be having to rush things since May is around the corner. D:

I already send my information through priority mail last week, so I'm expecting to receive anything about confirmation. So far, I haven't gotten anything. :( I just hope that I get a table.

As for progress, I'm about halfway done with my bookmarks, planing on working on three more prints, brainstorming on the keychains and button designs. I'm trying to get all artwork done by end of Marc at least til the beginning part of April. Plus, balancing schoolwork along with it. @_@ Debating whether of not I should have the keychains and bookmarks laminated.

I'm just worried about setting up templates for the bookmarks since I'm going to get this printed at: Catprint.bz I met of the AA artists from Fanime last year and she said that they're really cheap on prints, bookmarks, etc. ^_^

Yeah, my due date is around your date too...  You need a lot of time to consider the making time of the keychains and stuff.  It's going to be tough, but it looks like we both are managing well.

Heh heh, well, Lamination always makes things all clean and sleek. D:

Never heard of them.  How much are they charging you?

That sounds fun. :P Oh and I take it one needs to register t be in the contest and parade?

Well, to participate in the parade, it's FREE and requires no registration

And to participate in the Contest, you need to pre-register by April 2nd at Japan Video in SF Japantown.
(Also FREE)

Really, registering is a free way to get a goodie bag. lol.  Last year they gave out a plush and some posters.

I'll be there with Ohsu.

^ is in the Cosplay Parade and Contest.

The plan on that day is this:

Cosplayers IN CONTEST, meet @ City Hall at 10 AM for judging.

Cosplayers NOT IN CONTEST, but FOR PARADE, meet @ City Hall at 12:00 PM.

So, typically, you can do this:

Date: April 20th, 2008
Meeting Place: In front of San Francisco City Hall; I guess where all the cosplayers are.
Time:  10 AM for people who wanna be there for the cosplay judging; 12 PM for those who want to get there before the parade starts.

Possible schedule can be:

- 10AM/12PM meet up in front of SF City Hall
- Parade starts @ 12:30 PM, people who walk in parade walk; people not in parade drive to Japantown SF.
-  After parade ends, meet at some point (It can be discussed later. Japantown gets really crowded later, so it'll be hard to find people)
-  Hang around Japantown; Kinokuniya, etc.
- Find a restaurant to eat for a lunch/dinner (Might be hard too, because of the many people)
- Anything else?

I'm just stating what we did in the previous years.  Hopefully this will help you decide on what you'd want to do. ^^

Hopefully my Rock Howard coat arrives in time (after numerous delays thanks to materials).

Ah, I'm going to be Kula...  How do we end up doing cosplays form the same series? lol.

Maybe I'll see you there with Ohsu.

Omg! This is what I planned to do for my B-day since my b-day is on 4/20! Hehe... glad you posted this.

I suppose as the date comes closer, we can plan out something better...

Like, 10:00 AM on Sun.  Cosplayers in the contest meet in front of City Hall for the contest.  Then the cosplayers for the parade meet in front of city hall at 12:00...

After the parade, restaurants in J-Town get soooo packed, it's hard to eat somewhere.  I'm sure we can try to make things work out.

I don't think you guys should worry about your art...  It means alot just being able to go out there to sell you art.

If you worry too much about it, you'll feel like you never got what it takes to be at AA. Just go out there and fun with your friends!

My friend I'm sharing the table with is worrying about her art not doing well, but I think there are a variety of people out there who like different styles of art. That's why I'm not worrying as much.  It's more fun when you don't care, lol.
