So I'm most definitely wearing Superior Spidey to the gathering!
I'll be walking around in mangaverse on other days though.
#2
As a request for shots, I'd like a Spiderverse group shot if enough Spideys show up!

I'll be coming as either Mangaverse Spiderman or Superior Spiderman! Depending on how progress goes.

Hey there, sorry to be an ass, but I'd like to formally complain about how this just went down. I was sitting there refreshing the forums and events page like an idiot only to find out second hand from a friend via text message that the link was posted somewhere (FACEBOOK???) and now I am waitlisted. I didn't even stand a chance of getting in because I wasn't looking in the right places.

I have been doing Swap Meet for years now, and it's basically how I finance the convention and one of the major highlights for me. The delay in posting information is forgivable since it can be out of the organizer's hands if there's other bureaucratic  crap that might be someone else's fault, but posting a public link on Facebook without updating the main website or forum community who cared enough to ask questions (SOME EVEN MONTHS IN ADVANCE) just seems downright wrong. Last year, communication from organizers was great and while signups went up waaaaaay later than they should have, it all worked out. This was not the case this year, and from what I am reading here now, it looks like being online at the right time on the right page might not even have been enough.

I am also in this situation. Going to Fanime is pricey. Swap Meet was how I made my money to support the lovely venders and Artists of Fanime.
As it is the end of May, many of us are busy college students on Finals. My particular finals are this week. To stop my self from distractions, I stopped using FB for a short while (and I don't use Twitter). Of course, I checked the Fanime Site fairly often to see if any information about Swap Meet would come up. Nothing. Every day was the same news posts. I get a text from a friend saying "Hey, aren't the swap meet reg up?" I didn't believe him because the MAIN SITE had nothing (Of course, now I see that the bottom of the site has a twitter area...) Even the Swap Meet area of the events page still says "More Info coming soon.
I signed up 2 hours after the 7pm opening aaaaaaand... waitlisted. Not everyone uses FB and Twitter religiously and relies on the main site to update accordingly.

While it was fun seeing the different people, it ended up being super Sentai biased. While I live some SS, Kamen riders got like, one picture for themselves. There was a decent amount of W people which would've been nice...

How does someone run a gathering? I think that might spark up some responses.

Dealers Room / Re: Dealers Room vs Swap Meet
March 19, 2012, 09:59:57 PM
I like them both!

Swap meet, you can get a lot of older stuff for cheap.
Like I got an Akira Toriyama artbook $50 at kinokuniya for... $5!

Arts books in general are cheap over at swap meet.

Also it's the place to buy those nostalgic little trinkets from your childhood.

Dealer's hall, I can get all of the more recent items without the hassle of import prices and shipping!

Got a lot of figuarts and SIC for a great price~

But who's going to save everyone from Shadows when midnight hits? D:
Haha, I'm not too familiar with all the gathering rulings, but is it against the rules to have just a bunch of people (who happen to be from the same series) just standing around when other passerbys just want to take pictures of everyone?

I'd love to come both days! I have 2 cosplays this year round so maybe I can come one cosplay one day and another cosplay the other.

Depends on the timing though. Saturday, I have 2 gatherings from 2-probably 3:30 or 4

I'm free sunday whole day though.

I would be coming as either KAMEN RIDER JOKER from Kamen Rider W or IZANAGI from Persona 4.

Whether or not to have a midnight gathering, perhaps put up a poll to see how many people would actually attend?
#11
Please take me out of Gokaiger,

I'll be coming as KAMEN RIDER JOKER instead :)

I also might be late because I'm gonna be at a different gathering at 2 so I hope I can make it on ime!

Keeping it what it is, is fine... I was hoping I found an All-Inclusive Tokusastu gatherings...

Just to ask, were YOU planning on doing something outside super sentai and kamen rider?
The live action sailor moon cosplayers would probably just... Go with the sailor moon gathering.  While all tokusatsu genres would be nice, how many people would really cosplay from Metal Heroes or Godzilla? I never see any ultra man stuff either. I wouldn't mind them joining in on the day, it's just sentai and riders are more popular so it would be easier to gather people from those fanbases.

This is awesome. My friends and I are going from both Den-O and W series. We were W/Double last year. We're in~
Did you guys have a suit or were you cosplaying Phillip and Shotaro? I honestly want to make a W Joker cosplay, but that all depends on time, money, and my own skill.

We were Philip and Shoutarou. Philip was playing the violin on Sunday too.

We are actually have about 6 people doing Den-O which all are Imagin!Ryoutarous and Denbu!Yuuto. As for W (only 5 people), it will be Chief, Akiko, Shoutarou, Philip, and Terui.

GAsp! I remember you vividly playing your piano with an awesome Phillip cosplay! I wanted to take a picture but I didn't want to bother your playing haha.
6 people?! I wish I had that many friends into tokusatsu V___V

Thinking about it, I probably won't be able to finish OOO so I'm down for a Gokai Red!
Now if I can get a gokai blue, yellow, green, and pink :D

Fanime 2010, there was a great turnout when they made it of all Tokusatsu Genre's whether it be Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, etc.

Very sad that there wasn't any form of gathering last year.

Perhaps there would be much more interest with all the Tokusatsu Genre's

While I plan on making a OOO Costume, if that fails, I wanted to make Gokai Red.

We can have different photo shoots for different series, etc.

it's not. People just say that to screw with your mind. It's a nice line in series too

How come in technology, smaller is better?

Incredible Stuff I can Make / Kamen Rider Cosplay
June 07, 2008, 11:26:43 PM
I saw 2 Kamen rider cosplayers at Fanime (Not sure if It were the same person of not but..)

I was wondering if the whole costume was bought or made. I was looking around for handmade helmets but on ebay they cost a crapload>_> but they do look pretty good..

For those cosplayers, if you made it, Would you be able to make me one? of course depending on the price of the whole suit but yeah.

thanks?
#19
-sigh- I really wanted to cosplay as Zero from megaman zero but have no time for it V_V

Hopefully Ill make it in time for fanime 2009 XD

I've made a base, but have no idea how to make the helmet D:

With the month remaining no way Ill finish

Maybe Ill go as generic otaku who spends more then he has

or go as L >_> as a last minute ditch effort

to me as long as it's pretty good or funny then it's fine with me. Like i saw a power rangers cosplay, some star wars, POC, etc.

and most game cosplay are consider anime because of the style and the people on deviantart >_>
