I was wondering if anybody, from past experiences, know the price for 3 nights at either the Marriott, Hilton, or Fairmont. I'm planning to book a room from Friday to Monday and I just want to know which hotel offers the best price.

Is this gathering still happening because I don't see it on the official list

End of Time, collar and all. I'll bring him and Jack then.
EEEEE!!! That's awesome! I can't wait to see!
Sadly my friend can't show up as Daddy Winchester D: but I'll be there as Sam!!! Hooray for more love

Ooooh, Yes I hope for Sunday too! But could we maybe have it at like noon or 1? I know Saturday my friends and I are out late haha and it's hard to get into cosplay too early. I like the location too.

Alrighty that's two for Sunday so far. We may be able to have it around noon or 1. Or maybe 12:30. I don't have the power to make the final decision (as in change the first post) so I will be sure to let my friend know. Along with the photography line up.

I think around noon would be nice since the Harry Potter gathering is at 10 and I don't want to rush back into the hotel and change.

Has the creator of this event set a specific time and date yet? I already informed the people on the Facebook event that we're following the plans on this thread. Hopefully he/she can set a time and day before other gatherings take a desired time slot.

Wait, my friend and I might go as geothebio's doodles of Sherlock and John instead of the Empty Child and the TARDIS. Also, I attempted to make a small Sherlock gathering on Facebook but it appears that it is not as getting as much publicity as I hoped for. Is it okay if I can piggyback the Sherlock gathering with this gathering? I can change the event into a SuperWhoLock gathering if you'd like.

Bacon-Flavored Cosplay is planning to attend as the San Francisco Giants. XD We're not sure exactly which day we'll attend, but we'll be at one of them. Here's our list (name included are from cosplay.com):

Freddy Sanchez - Kendama Master
Brandon Belt - Eau de Decus
Buster Posey - Kell-chan

If you need someone to control the crowd or need any other form of assistance, I can help! I'm cosplaying as Mexico (I know he isn't canon, but I think it would be pretty cool to bring in a little twist)

I might go as Mexico! Hopefully people can recognize me since I'm using one of the more well known fan art :P

OMG Mexico!!!! Awesome I was waiting to meet one! Can I get your picture!!! I am so much a Mexico fangirl!

YAY! ANOTHER MEXICO FAN! And sure! It's great to know people who are interested in the OC countries! I absolutely love Mexico, Philippines, Brazil, and Scotland's designs.

LET'S BRING IN SOME K-POP! It was really popular this year considering the number of people who attended the K-Pop panels and it would be nice to have something different for a change.

But think about it, Fanime is, overall, for Japanese appreciation
-- shouldn't we just stick with Japanese artists ?

Well, some K-Pop groups also participate in the J-Pop scene. Some groups like 2PM, Brown Eyed Girls, and I think SHINee have a few songs in Japanese.

HARRY POTTER FTW!!! My friends and I were the Potter Puppet Pals at Fanime 2011 and we're going to do it again next year with extra puppets (Hermione, Ginny, perhaps Draco or the Weasley twins). FINALLY A HARRY POTTER GATHERING!!!! WOOHOOOO!!!! :D

Registration / Expired ID
May 15, 2011, 08:08:48 PM
I'm planning on pre-registering but the thing is I don't have a California ID and my passport is expired. It would take weeks to get both too. Do I just not pre-register or is it possible to use my expired passport?

Registration / ID Registration
March 14, 2011, 10:37:35 PM
I just want to know about the situation regarding registration and the ID. My mom is ordering the pre-reg badge for me and I'm wondering if she has to be there in order to pick it up.

Is organizing a masquerade skit difficult? I've never been to a Fanime masquerade before and from what I hear it can be very stressful at times. My friends and I are planning a musical number which would require choreography and live singing. I know you would have to have the audio of the skit pre-recorded, but we were thinking of just pre-recording the background and having our main singer sing live. GAHHHH!!! IT'S SO CONFUSING! Anybody have some good advice or any experiences to share?

I'm a Canada cosplayer but I'm not really into being a panelist since I'm extremely shy, although I am willing to help you organize the event. I went to the 2010 Hetalia panel and my guy friends that went with me wouldn't stop ranting about how it basically promoted yaoi. I don't mind yaoi at all (I read and watch some when I have the time), but since Hetalia is growing and now younger kids are into it, I think the panel should be a little bit more organized about this subject (no offense to the panelists from last year, you guys were freakin' awesome). But yeah...I've seen panels from other conventions and maybe this panel can sort of do something based off of those (the Hetalia panel from AFO 2010 and AN2010 were pretty good).
