I'm seriously thinking of doing Mako's Goku Uniform!

As one of the artists in the AA, I'm not sure what you're expecting for commission prices.  Our prices are for us, we're charging what we're valuing our work at and often times end up charging much much less than what it's worth.  We're spending a lot of time preparing and putting our stuff out there for people that may be interested, why is it a bad thing to want to earn a bit more since Fanime's such a big con?

I'm back this year!  With my updated version of the rifle making it's debut.

Wow, I was about to post a link to my pics.  It seemed like there weren't as many poses this year, though I guess with the construction, there were fewer gathering spots and was more of a time crunch before the next group.

I made a set from just the meet up: http://www.flickr.com/photos/metasheep/sets/72157633871838929/

Sorry about that, I was just checking flickr a lot for any photos of my cosplay.   Yeah, I noticed the gatherings seemed super rushed this year compared to the number of poses that we could do last year.  Bit of a bummer, but hopefully this'll get better in 2014!

Also, do you mind if I post a few of these on tumblr?  It'll be linked back to your flickr, of course.

Apparently there have been multiple accounts of creepy photographers, but this guy has actually published them online.  At a glance, you can tell that a majority of the photos feature cosplayers who are unaware that their photo is being taken.  Some are just walking around the con, and others are distracted by other photographers.  Also, it seems like some of them are minors as well.

Gallery in question: http://www.flickr.com/photos/91299884@N08/

Please, please keep an eye out for each other since a lot of cons are coming up in a few weeks and let staff know if someone is making you uncomfortable.

If anyone has a tumblr, please share this: http://tascenda.tumblr.com/post/51824177262/so-i-found-a-photographer-who-had-been-taking-photos-at  Hopefully we can get a little more awareness on the subject, and possibly find the cosplayers pictured so that they may know as well.

Kuudere, there is at least one confirmed underaged girl in these photos, there are likely more.  Nevertheless it's despicable regardless of age.

And thank you Aelia [and staff!], your involvement in the issue.  Unfortunately I won't be able to staff due to being in the AA, but more work on enforcing the rules and making them known would be fantastic.  I'll keep in touch.  [Also, may I x-post this to the cosplay section of the forum?]

Hello, my prop is quite a large piece so I figured I'd check up on it before it is finished.  It is a large replica sniper rifle, completely built from wood, plastic, and fillers so there are no moving parts.  This album includes pictures of the build plus a few reference images to the cosplay in question: http://imgur.com/a/GPHeP#0   What counts as a non-removable orange tip [sorry, this is the first prop I've built!], does it have to be a plug or a paint job?  Or does a wrapping of bright orange tape work?  Or is it even necessary for this particular gun to begin with?  I'd like to at least preserve its original state for future personal use.

Thanks for taking the time to answer everyone's questions, it's much appreciated!

Hello Aelia, I've added a few more updated images to my gallery above of more work I've done on the rifle.  I should be finishing it off soon, the trigger still needs to be attached and will be made of wood and is non-moveable.  Could you possibly take a look at it for the question I posed earlier?  Thanks!

[I also realize that in the pictures that is how it's held for display, but when moving I am able to keep it at a neutral vertical position lower on my body as to not hit anyone.  I am also able to handle it one-handed to open doors.]
The progress still looks fine to me.

As for carrying it, we go with the "45 degree rule" (no more than 45 degree variation from floor or ceiling) vertical would be the most "neutral" position possible with that prop, I think.

Fantastic, so no safety tip is needed in this case?

I will be attending as a red Sniper [bringing my rifle, jarate, and kukri].  Also I will be selling TF2 goodies in the artist alley!

Since I go to San Jose State I figured I'd throw in my two cents.  Here's a list of where I get my usual grub.  Google for addresses, but they're all within good distance of the downtown area.  Also I left out the pricey places like Sonoma Chicken Coop, Original Joe's, and Scotts Seafood.

Fast food: McDonalds, Togos, Subway, Jack in the Box, Carls Jr are all within 1-5 blocks from the event center.  Carls Jr is a little farther over near Santa Clara Street.

Johnny Rockets [I consider it expensive, but milkshakes are pretty awesome.]
Peanuts Deluxe Cafe [diner that gives you a crapload of food that's probably not good for you but filling.  Cash only.]
Osheyo [Sushi and the works.]
Psycho Donuts
Hydration Tea and Coffee [Milk tea, bento boxes, etc.]
Smoke Eaters [Spicy chicken wings.]
La Victoria Taqueria [Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, orange sauce...]
Iguanas Burritozilla [Burritos, tacos...]
A Taste of Paris [Pastries, soups]
The Cheese Steak Shop
Good Karma Vegan House [vegetarian food, great local coffee]
Cafe Pomegranate [Mediterranean, Persian, great kebabs]
China Chen [Noodles, rice plates]
Pho 69
The Kebab Shack [Kebabs, rice, combo plates]
Pizza My Heart
TK Noodle
Quickly's

Also watch for food trucks.  I know a few make downtown stops, like Mogo's and Curry Up Now.

Hello, I have a question about the table seating arrangements.  I know that they haven't been arranged yet but I'd like to get some answers from people who have done this before.  It's my first time. :) A group of my friends [they're the 'rainbow tables'] are sitting as a group and have signed up as a group.  I'm sharing some equipment with them so I requested in the application if I could sit at one of the ends or near the group.  How is Fanime taking care of the seating requests?

Thanks!
