Yup, another one! So let's all tell about our crazy adventures at Fanime!
I saw my friend Sean, dressed up as a lolita on Saturday, even though he's a boy. He had fake boobs and everything. O_o. I was randomly glomped by a purple haired girl. I kept getting hugged by the same person. On monday I was repeatedly getting hugged by three girls, because I was dressed up as L from Death note(And a Zombie L FYI). During the Naruto gathering an Ebisu cosplayer went face first into my boobs, when I pretended to flash her. I played ninja twister with my friends...and lost. A storm trooper played with the giant snake plushie I carried with me. XD
Hmm, craziest thing...well, I caught my friend checking me out in 'that sort of way' and I'm a guy and he's a guy...so...no..I just made that up...but I still suspect he may be a little bit on the other team...
umm. I think the craziest thing was waiting for 2 and a half hours to play a game of Rifts RPG when nobody showed up for it...but that's really just boring rather than crazy. I miss out on so much cause I still don't know most of what goes on. Someone hang out with me next year and drag me to all the crazy stuff please!

Awright, I had SOMETHING that I think was sorta crazy, at least for a first convention...
Okay, so I'm pretty poor. I'm holding all the money to my name at this point, with about a dollar in my bank account. What to do?
I whip out my "Anything-Goes-DDR-Martial Artist" hobo sign, grab a small, cleaned-out applesauce cup, and plop myself in clean sight.
So, about $1.95 and 6 min. later, this guy comes up to me and says, "Do you do sketches?" I say "sure". So he asks me to draw an anthropomorphic fox-girl. So I do. This leads to dropping $3 (in quarters) into the cup and asking if I'll draw something in his "green book".
(At this point I'm thinking, WTF?!?)
I say yes. So he leads me into the artists' room and sets me up behind this green book of his, full of furry drawings. I get to work, and 15 min later, I give him my usual low-quality art, drawing a fox-type female.
Figures that this guy is a proffessional furry artist. He gave me his card:

And drew a li'l furry on it and said "Thanks".
Thus was my way of getting to Fanime the next day. Without that money, I'd have been broke in the means of VTA/Metro fares.
I'm neither an artist nor a furry fan, so this sorta caught me unawares.
I saw L doing the Macarena.
I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the Kyuubi on Leash x Itachi makeout photo session that happened during the naruto gathering on sunday. :p
luckily, i didnt have anything weird happen to me this year. but for some reason, when i was walking around the convention center late at night, i kept looking behind me. i felt a really weird vibe or something...
making out with my friend vincent on stage at the masquerade was great. i've always wanted to do it.. didn't imagine it would be that way though

I think joining that whole group of "We'll get you hugs!!" was pretty freaky.
OMG! That AlecXCat guy! He TOTALLY drew in my friend's book and we got to talk to him for awhile!! I got one of his cards with a cool drawing on it ^_^

Within 4 seconds of entering the convention center, I was immediatley glomped by two Vash's. It was so awesome I went into convulsions. Later they came back. Only there was 6 or 7 instead of two. And they all glomped me at once. And I died. And was reborn. And smiled.
I was the only Raito on an L conga line... and i was only there because I was handcuffed to my best friend and L to my Raito...
Also, at the Masquerade when Auron was onstage I screamed that I loved him... and he blew me a kiss! it wasn't as much the craziest as the best...

It seems like the craziest thing most people go through are either kisses or hugs. Maybe I'm used to the con scene now.. that doesn't seem too odd to me anymore :3
On almost the entirety of Monday afternoon in the middle of Stage Zero, me and my friends were blowing ginormeous bubbles by continuously linking them with a bubble gun I had for my cosplay. It got to be about a foot and a half wide in diameter with 3 people blowing or waving fans or just waving their arms around me trying to keep it up before it was too big and crashed on the floor/curtains/into people.

If you're here Zombie L, I was the girl with the glasses with my 2 other sisters that kept hugging you and like...everybody else. Including all the L's! >w<

Weirdest thing that happened to me at Fanime this year? ...A really hot girl asked me to dance. Which is weird, because I'm a girl. An ugly girl. What the hell. XDDDD Plus we had to dance around that guy dressed as a light-up Gundam. XDDDD It was surreal.

Musicfest for me, personally. And when I got back to my hotel room and tried to sleep, my calves began cramping
incredibly badly due to all the jumping. Like, the ones right under the knee and in the middle of calf... Brought tears. =x

Maybe.. I left my wallet (attached has my key and badge) next to a DDR machine and forgot about it. When I remembered 30 minutes later, I ran back in there without a staff's approval and it was STILL THERE. O_O! With all my money, key, and badge still there. XD It was awesome. Then I showed the the staffs my badge. o_o

I saw a couple of cosplayers walk up to an ordinary girl an ask if they could take her picture, because they didn't want the people who weren't in costume to feel left out.
A friend of mine was going around in the military garb he uses for airsoft games, and had multiple cardboard boxes stalking him. Until he had a friend sneak up on one of the boxes and dry-hump it. Then they all left him alone for the rest of the con. There was also a group of girls who ran up, counted down from 3, and glomped him all at once.
At the masquerade LOTS of people had DSs and were using Pictochat. And I forgot to bring mine that day... :cry:
OTOH when I did bring it on Monday morning and was playing New Super Mario Bros. to kill some time, some guy walked up to me towing a girl and said, "Hey! He's playing Mario! You should play with him!" She didn't want to. I didn't care. :P
I also wore my Ryo-Ohki backpack on Monday, just for the hell of it. While I was walking to Jack-In-The-Box for lunch, a random girl asked me, "Can I poke your bag?"
People get really uninhibited at cons it seems.

I got my arm squeezed by a girl who told me I should cosplay as Vash.
Thats as close as a glomp as I'll ever get.

The first time, I obliged. But then he asked me probably about 10 more times that weekend. I'm not (often) touchy-feely especially with strangers.
And its not like he knew he didn't ask me because 1. I was the only SSS Luna there and I rarely changed costumes, and 2. I told him I already gave him a hug, but he kept asking.
After a while, I was just annoyed. He asked for the millionth time on Monday and I told him I was asleep and couldn't oblige.
As for crazy things to happen..I think actually getting asked to dance at the fanime dance thing by like three different guys. I was really flattered and had fun.
I asked the guy at the jrock booth to marry me... :\ He didn't necessarily say no but he kinda laughed and threw it aside. ^-^ Needless to say I have pics of him. <3
Some random guy wanted by picture when I was in my Kung Fu jacket...not sure why...he seemed a tad bit creepy though ^^;
There was also the time I got tackle glomped by some 250lb guy. That was NOT pleasant @.@
^^;; The craziest thing at Fanime was when my friends took my bear and my friend's star and begin their "Anbu and Friends" escapade. It was the funniest and this happened while we're at Denny's at 3am, still waiting for our food. They were so short-staffed.

Well isn't the whole ordeal just crazie enough as is for us staff? lol In anycase one of my craziest moments this year in fanime was getting tackled to the ground by this one chick (whom I am now good friends with XD) who was dressed up in this hot modified Sailor Uranus outfit with these platform boots :D I was walking past her and her group of friends while they were sitting in front of Stage Zero while I was one break from my shift and I over heard someone from their direction yell out how they think I'm cute n hot and how they think sadly though that I am probably straight ^^; XD lol I just turned and was like (and I didn't even know who I was answering) "Uh... no... I'm les actually o.O" and next thing you know I am gettin toppled over n jumped on by Sailor Uranus LMAO!! I've been tackleglomped many times in all my years of attending and staffing at Fanime but that one was one of the most surprising and unexpected I have to say...

Same here, my last encounter with the guy was in the video room. He asked me for YET ANOTHER hug (I obliged the clown twice 'cause I thought he was "Special"). What I did was I said, "Here, hug this guy" and pointed him in the direction of an innocent bystander.

a year ago, upon my first time entering in my Shinji costume, I get glomped attacked by 5 unidentified female attackers. Someone also struck some really weird pose with me when they asked for a picture too now that I think about it.
Not that my next costume is going to be any better ^_^

One of my crazier stories from Fanime is from the second year I attended. I was worknig as a volunteer that year and was tasked with the (not so) glorious job of making gaurding the exit doors to the dealers room. Basically the job was sitting/standing there for a couple hours making sure people didn't go in through the exit. Well I was cosplaying as Private C. Fodder of the Principality of Zeon (the generic green pilot jumpsuit). A hour or so in a petite female around I'd say around 4' 10" came up and tugged on my uniform and said "Glomp?" I wasn't sure I had heard correctly (it was noisy) so I asked her what she had asked. "Can I glomp you?" was her response. I shrugged and said sure figuring it was going to be a standard hug and release. Oh no... she starts backing up. 5 feet... ten... about the point she hits fifteen I start to worry. Then she kneels into a runners position and proceeds to sprint at me. Leaping the last couple feet of the distance she rings her arms around my neck and swings around nearly knocking me of my feet as her friend snaps a photo.
The other was me getting on the dance floor wearing a Zaku II mecha costume and doing the robot.

Anyway, I think the craziest thing that happened to me was randomly encountering people playing Apples to Apples in the halls (not the game room) and playing for at least 3 hours.
Though watching "A Bittersweet Life" might compare.
I had like 3 or 4 people out side my hotel room throwing stuff at it, and i couldnt go down to Con for like 4 hours till they left and i knew the were around the corner by the elevator so i had to walk down like 20 flights os stairs-_______-.
The thing is i didnt even know the people. =[

some random guy kept knocking on my friends and i hotel room, we didn't know the guy but we called the front desk and they didn't do anything about it :evil: but we just ended up sleeping throughout it all till he left.

Making a human "Envy" sign at the FMA photo shoot. That was interesting.
Other things that happened were @ 2005, my freind got fangirled by a Soujirou fanatic, and then at the last con, another freind ogt fangirled and had to get a new wig because of it.
Also, last year when my friend and I had went to hentai night and there was a showing (I forget which movie) and there were trying to decide whether to show it in dub or subtitled and a bunch a people started to argue. My friend yelled out "Just show the damn movie" I thought they were goin to shut it down. lol. They eventually showed it and everything went to ok after. I guess that was more funny then crazy. lol
A friend of SuperKawaiiNeko's and mine did this costume one year as an in-joke for all the die-hard "Excel Saga" fans. She dressed as Menchi Dogs (The Hot Dogs for Weiners) from the hidden commercials on one of the Viz DVD volumes.
The first year she did it, a lot of people got the joke and thought it was funny. The second year, she had developed her own fan base. Last year, she was jumped and dry-humped by a pack of Vash's. It was hilarious. She was all "How come you didn't help me?" I was all "How can I help you and take pictures at the same time?" In 2005, I participated in the duct taping of Rock Lee to a piller. I even got to poke him a few times with my little toy sword. He was a pretty good sport about the whole thing.
My first Fanime, in 2001, I had no car and no crash space. >< I ended up hiding in the back of the Asian Cinema room and catching some sleep. I also got a little sleep in the upper lobby the next night, with a kindly staffer telling me to "just try to look more awake if you're going to crash here, okay?"
Kids, NEVER EVER DO THIS. Seriously, it'd be a lot harder to do now and even if it wasn't you just plain don't want to. Plus, the karaoke room had doors open to the upper lobby and I was woken up in the middle of the night by a group rendition of "We Will Win" from Robotech (admittedly sung slightly better than Reba West's original).

Then there was 2002. I got a room at the last minute with a few people I knew from the AnimeOnDVD forum... one of whom (a guy) neglected to mention that he was crosplaying as Sakura (from CCS). That was interesting the first time I saw it.
I also got damned lucky that year... I woke up too late to get Der Cosplay tickets, so I was just chatting with my friends while they were waiting in line to get in when someone (a staffer? not sure) a couple spots ahead i the line found out they couldn't go for some reason and gave me their ticket. Okay, maybe I wasn't so lucky as I now have the image of fig-leafed cardboard SEELE boxes dancing to 'yatta!' burned into my brain.

This is more like a horror story than a crazy story but...
At 2004, my very first Fanime, I was sitting with my friend by the balcony inside, chilling and playing cards while we waited for another friend to arrive. This guy asked if he could play so we let him join us. We began a game of plain poker [no stakes, betting or anything] and this guy started talking about how he wished that there were some really hot girls around that we could play *strip poker* with [keep in mind, Im a girl, and he's saying this in front of me]. My friend and I tried to ignore him but he continued saying that if he had hot girls around to play it with, things would get really hot and he would have sex. I looked at my friend across from me with a look that said, 'We're getting out of here now, or I'm throwing myself off this balcony so help me God!' Thankfully, our friend then called saying that she was just leaving her house. So my friend whom I was with lied and told the guy that we had to go wait outside because they were right around the corner. We scrambled out of there in no time flat, and luckily never saw him again.
The moral of this story? If you're a perverted fanboy, dont be one in front of un-beknownst girls. They will not have sex with you.

Next time you should use the line "i need to use the bathroom" and ask your friend to go and scram! even if it means loss of cards (unless theyre from a Trading Card Game and theyre irreplaceable, or collector anime playing cards XD) if its just a reg deck of playing cards, leave em theyre cheap :P

"Really Creepy" is an understatement lol! I was so freaked out about the whole thing, I didnt know what to do! We were in cosplay, but definetely looked like girls. Although we were only 15 at the time [and looked young], so I suppose he knew that asking us to play would be a serious crime XD eep.

I saw my friend Sean, dressed up as a lolita on Saturday, even though he's a boy. He had fake boobs and everything. O_o. I was randomly glomped by a purple haired girl. I kept getting hugged by the same person. On monday I was repeatedly getting hugged by three girls, because I was dressed up as L from Death note(And a Zombie L FYI). During the Naruto gathering an Ebisu cosplayer went face first into my boobs, when I pretended to flash her. I played ninja twister with my friends...and lost. A storm trooper played with the giant snake plushie I carried with me. XD

While hostin Stage Zero, one of the dance off contestants was this really kewl L cosplayer guy and he suddenly started bustin out of character with break dance moves n flips XD CRAZIE! I was afraid he was gonna fall of mah stage! lol But he won the contest of course ^_^

speaking of brake dancing, break dancing back stage during the masquerade was dope. well random behind the scenes break dance battles was dope. filming random skits during the con was awesome as well. as for craziest thing was volunteering for the masquerade for its 10 billion million hours and pictochatting with you dudes.

And dude...on Friday night, there was a police helicopter circling for about 2 hours. o_O Then the next night, or the night after that, I can't remember, two of my friends woke up at exactly the same time. One thought it was an earthquake (earlier she had gotten a text that there had been a minor one where she lived), but no one else felt anything. Then there were these bangs, and it sounded like someone banging on the window. Right after that there were sirens, and all four of us jumped out of bed and to the window. I later found out that the bangs were gunshots. o__o IT WAS SO FREAKY.

Con ops disbanded them though T_T. oh it was fun to watch.

ok, so here's a crazy story. A couple weeks ago I was at my local piercing parlor to get my navel checked out. I had to wait for the piercer because she was with other clients. After a while this girl comes out, sits down and we have a really nice chat while she's waiting for her b/f.
Fast forward to Friday, I think. I forget how I initially started chatting with her but eventually this girl goes "you look familiar". I saw her fresh nose piercing and asked "Did you go to El Toro bodyshop a couple weeks ago?" OMG, it was HER! I had no idea she was a cosplayer! Now after scoping out her myspace I found out she's the sister of 2 of my old friends from JC! She was the mysterious middle sister I had seen pics of but never met!

I was being followed by this blonde boy while I was dressed up as Princess Ashe from Final Fantasy XII
He must have followed me and my friends around for about an hour and a half! But then we went somewere and lost him- damn- we were ganna pull the prank that my friend (Lulu) was going to be my girlfriend XP
There was so many more outrageouse things that happend this year- So much fun!!
EDIT: for those of you who went to the masquarade, my other friend was the one who shouted out "its over 9000!" and was also the one who jumped out during the 'Tra La La" song XD

Uhm....craziest thing that happened to me? *evil grin* Masquerade this year, my friends and I did a skit....it was *drum roll*
"Riku's Journey to Candy Mountain".....and I was Riku....dead serious
Oh my gosh, we had a blast, and you guys will never know how awesome it was to have everyone in the audience cheering for us the whole time. I mean, heck, you guys even joined in the dialogue!!! That was so friggin' awesome!!! (p.s. Does anyone know what site the MC announced where the Masquerade would be posted for viewing?)
Anyway, so that was REALLY cool/crazy...
But aside from that, on sunday while I was wearing the Riku costume, I wasn't even out of the hotel lobby and some girl starts following after me. She goes, "Hi!....I'm in love with Riku.....Do you like my dress?.....so, do you think I look good enough to be a character in a Kingdom Hearts and, well, ya know?" And when my friend came up, she kinda got this "Oh my gosh, I've been caught!" look. I don't think she quite realized I was a girl, too.
Annnnd......The Black and White Ball was the BEST!!! I had a blast and danced with a couple of REALLY talented dancers. And I made it into the Karaoke Finals (8th place out of the 10 finalists....VV;;;;)
But this year was just pretty friggin great all the way around!

The Comedy award was 50/50 between the KH Candy Mountain skit and the Ouran Gay Bar skit...I think they went with the Ouran Gay Bar skit because the song fit so well into the skit (especially when they re-created Haruhi breaking the vase, and Kyoya saying "Do you have any money?" That was just gold.)
I think the two craziest moments for me was when I shook that hand of the president of Gainax during Opening Ceremonies. Come on, it's the freakin' president of Gainax. The other was during the B&W Ball; some girl early on pulled me by my tie to get me to dance with her...I was like "Freakin' sweet!!!" inside my head.

I just remembered another crazy moment/day.....
It's the last day of con and my staffers and I were dressed in our Logsitics uniform (bright orange jumpsuits with FanimeCon Logistics logo on back) getting ready to clean up.
I must have had about a dozen attendees asking me where they could get jumpsuits like ours so that they could cosplay as Logistic workers for next year..... :shock:
I was touched that they wanted to cosplay the Logistics department...

well, there were a lot of crazy things i saw at fanime. one was using planks of wood we found in a dumpster, a hotel sheet, and some black duct tape to make wolfwood's cross. another was watching my friend accidentally throw a drunk guy into one of the cement pillars. but the craziest thing i remember had to do with the band of ninjas. i was trying to help my friend(dressed as wolfwood) sell glowsticks for money to buy ciggarettes. the small cardboard sign said something about helping wolfwood on his quest or something, and he had conveniently added "free hugs" at the bottom. as the ninjas were passing, one of them noticed me holding the sign. he shouted, "hey V! does that sign say free hugs??" so i nodded. he gathered the others and commenced the whole, "ninjas, what is your proffession? KILL!! KILL!! KILL!!" and i got glomp/hugged against a pillar. and yet, none of them bought glowsticks. however, it was awesome.

AHAHAHA! Those were my friends! I was the Orihime following them, they were my 'body guard' I had no clue what they were doing, hence my lack of shirt ninja-ness. But the Kill Kill Kill yeller, the leader? My dork of a boyfriend (now at least, we got together after fanime) Glad to make memories!

I ran into a Sasuke. Almost literally. More like one of her fans, because she was surrounded by a ring of fangirls.
Sasuke and I made eye-contact, and she hugged me, and the fangirls imploded.
They kept on squealing for SasuNaru photos, and we were sorta forced into it...
I nearly got molested by one fangirl when she glomped me.
I ended up being Naruto in in "Ed Meets Sora" with her...I had to learn all the timing and moves the day of the skit...
Oh, and I ran into Jiraiya like five times throughout the con. He said what was I doing, training wasn't over yet.
I got alot of hugs from ppl bc of my "hug?..." sign.. wearing black, and a face mask xD...
some guy in an army uniform grabbed my neck and not letting me glomp him and when his friend told me to ^^;;;
i kept finding the same ppl hugging me, i yaoi paddled the burger king guy, then he chased me ^^;;;;; now im scared of him, and hid the whole time from him at fanime
lost a kiki from the gaia booth place
yelled stfu to the guy who kept yelling "4!!!!! 4!!" at the masquerade
and meeting random ppl that i sadly didnt get contact information from Dx

The best part about it was that when I came back to work everyone wanted to see pictures of my flaming car. xD!
well, heres another thing that happened, it won't top the car but here you go, I overslept on the first day of 06 so I forgot my dress shose for my wakaba outfit and my sandles for my Kaoru and Envy. So when I was Envy, I had to walk around in my socks. And that's not all. at the end of the FMA gathering, we went to Jack in the Box and, you guessed it, I had to walk two and a half block in socks that were half barfoot (so glad that there wasn't any broken glass anywhere. :shock:
I have to say the carziest thing that happend to me was when I was dressed up as Ash Ketchum and a zombie bit me and I became zombie Ash and then started to fight pyramid head. Or when I was regular Ash Ketchum and just fought everyone I could find.
on the last morning of 07, i ran into some brittish guy who was leading a "field trip" through the con, into the hotels, into random people's rooms and demanding random things. we ended up doing a fanime version of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where we needed to find an egg, which became a WOW type quest, and i carried a guy to the starbucks.
I suppose.... The craziest thing that happened to me at Fanime is standing in a line for damn near 3 hours. And, another thing is the rave... It was the first time I'd ever been to one, and it was SOOOO live. I'm a wall-plant so I didn't dance, but it certainly was fun to watch every one. A girl fell, too so.... -snickers-
OH YEAH!!!!!! I remember something. Does anyone remember that random drunk guy the first night of the rave? He was so f@#king annoying!!!!
Craziest *scary thing that happened* Being Followed to ma car by some creepy guy that look like he didnt go to fanime @_@ i ran to ma car ;D ..and Craziest *awesome cool crazy* was seeing Mechanical Panda out at stage Zero and being able to take a descent photo with them :D they were so great at Music Fest!
awesome things happened at fanime I remember a while back I was hugged by a cute boy =) just cause I wore cat ears lololol it was awesome <3 he even purred!
Oh and this year Man I was FACE TO FACE with Shino of Karma Shenjing <3 Hes so pretty X3 I held his hand *gush*

I also hated the fate that I was on the 23 floor and when we went down we would stop on almost every floor. One time we almost made it to the bottom. T_T

me and my friend were in the hotel with our other friends, and our girlfriends at the time. he dressed like gaara, and since gaara is my favorite naruto character i was complementing my friend on how he did a surprizingly great job on the cosplay.
i was laying on the bed and he jumped on me cause he was exited and well......he was on top of me and.....our lips met and we kissed....and suddenly it felt like the world completely went mute and stopped for 3 seconds as we stared at each other realized what just happened. he jumped off me and fell to the floor and started rubbing the cooties off my lips.
meanwhile the whole room of 5-6 people including both our girlfriends watched us and were taken back and half of them didnt know what to say.
truly an anime moment where 2 strait guys accidentally kiss like in Naruto when Sasuke and NAruto kissed XD
Well, since Fanime was my first convention, I wasn't prepared with cosplays. So, on Sunday since it was my last day there, I decided to wear a 'Free Hugs' sign and walk around the convention with it. A guy came up to me and my friend since we were both wearing hug signs... and instead of give us a hug, he wanted to give us a kiss on the hand instead. It was weird since this guy had to be twice our age and we are both minors. >.> I'm fairly certain he was just playing in character for the guy he was cosplaying though, haha.
There was also the time when a guy came up to us to hug us and instead picked us up and shook us around before letting us go. >.> It was all in good fun. Those were the only slightly weird things that happened to me.
It was Fanime of 2006 and I was a volunteer that year. I was staying at the Marriott along with other friends. On that Saturday morning I decided to shave and the fuzz on the bottom of my face tells it all. So I picked up my Gillette attached a new cartridge blade, put on some shaving gel and let the water run. Three minutes already had gone by, when I started to work on my upper chin area I over stroked and knicked my lower lip. Blood was dripping out, so I grabbed a cold wet towel and applied pressure on the cut. Thirty minutes later it stopped. *For The Moment* I decided to go get breakfast at the Mc Donalds. I ordered the Deluxe Breakfast meal and ate there. I started to work on the scrambled eggs, took a bite out of the sausage patty, took 3 sips of coffee, nibbled on my biscuitt, took 3 bite size pieces of my hotcakes, wiped my mouth and all of sudden. "OH $&*#!" blood dripping out again, on my napkin and on my hotcakes. So I put the lid back on my breakfast threw it in the trash, took a sip of coffee then threw it in the trash and ran out the door. Mercy I needed medical attention.
I was hoping that there would be a First Aid station available nearby but the blood dripping can not be contained with only 1 napkin on hand. Then I realized that there was a Walgreens nearby. As a wounded con attendee I hightailed it on N. First St. dripping blood. When I finally got to the Walgreens I asked the sales associate where are the medical supplies she points out the aisle and thank goodness relief finally. I purchased a can of bandage spray to contained the wound. I sprayed some on that one napkin and dabbed it on the wounded lower lip. I repeated it a couple more times throughout the rest of the weekend and walked around with a blood clot remnant of that knick I sustained while shaving. This will be one of those con moments that I'll never forget and will learn from it.

It was about a couple of years ago, on a Sunday Night. I was in a full elevator on the Hilton Side when out of nowhere, two dudes dressed as characters from Phoenix Wright just ran in and jumped up and down like mad, then dashed off as fast as they came. I looked at the other people in the elevator, and they had the same WTF look on their faces like I did.
For Fanime 2008 I dyed my hair BRIGHT pink. Ask anyone who remembers...it was super bright..day-glo pink hair. I was sitting on the ground with my sister on Monday morning when a very nice young man approached us and complemented my hair. He then asked me if he could touch it. I felt very strange sitting on the floor in the middle of Fanime with a young gentleman petting my hair. It was crazy, but kind of fun too. :)

It was a total eye candy moment. lol.
my friends and i were playing the awkward bottle game/freestyle twister in the area between the maid cafe and the dance, and a couple of the bishounen from the yaoi events were hanging out with us, and then this guy walks up and is like, "i can be a bishounen too! watch, i'll prove it!!" and tackles one of the bishis and starts stripping him super awkwardly, and trying to pull his shirt over his head, and the poor bishi was trying to get him off, but the guy finally got his shirt off and started in on the pants until we kinda snapped out of shock and made him stop.
so then he tried to hang out with us... and started running his hands up and down my lady friend's thighs, and we had to make him leave. ugh...
and another time i was walking down the hallway with two of the bishounen and a guy comes up to us with a sign that says "future bishounen" and he comes up to us and I'm like "show us your bishi skills!" kinda skeptically cuz it looks like he hasn't showered all con, and so he yanks his ponytail holder out and shakes out his greasy hair and gives me an O face and we kinda ran away.
aaaaand then there was the guy who followed me after i walked through the hug line gauntlet and was like "free hug?" and i was like "i'm kinda in a hurry, sorry" and kept walking but he folowed me and was like "casual sex, then?" and I was like "uhhhh you wouldn't like it!" and ran away

I think it was Fanime 2007...my friend and I were walking down to the bagel shop that is right across from the Chase bank and on the way back there was this homeless guy in a wheelchair standing on the side corner of the church. So he randomly starts talking to us and he was like do you mind pushing me to the church gates for the food line. So I start wheeling him and we get to the gate..than he asks me to wheel him inside the gate, which turned into me wheeling him up the walkway ramp, which then turned into me wheeling him back down to the corner which we originally came from...LOL...but out of all of that he made me a really cool grasshopper out of a palm tree branch. ;D...right before he asked me for 5 bucks..LOL
Last fanime my friend and I walked down to this little liquor store on the opposite side of Jack in the box and we walked in to buy beer. Well a coven of homless men were standing outside commenting on my "goodies" the whole time we were in the store. So eventually and unfortunately there was only one door out so we had to walk through the crowd of men, which they all behaved...except this one drunk man. He must have followed us 10 blocks..saying how we were going to get married and he was picking out names for our children and how I reminded him of pocahontas in this one adult video he watches. :'( ...needless to say we eventually out walked him...but I don't think I will go to that liquor store again without my stun gun..LOL
I do however recommend to all the fanime goers out there do not consume OVER your limit of alcohol!!!! you have to pace yourself or you will wake up one morning ...on the tile floor in the bathroom..with your sleeping bag over you..in a pile of bile...with a yaoi book in your hand that you won from yaoi bing and said book was read out loud the night before...because you were so drunk it was the funniest thing you and your roomates ever heard...wondering through all that..who the hell put the sleeping bag over you!?!...and are you really going to have to sit in a car on a 7 hr drive home having to smell the remains of such bile that is now on your sleeping bag..WTF!?! so please remember pace yourselves.... :-X

it was fanime con 08 and im dressed as sasuke the day after the official naruto gathering, so needless to say, there wernt many people still in naruto outfits. as im walking this creepy little girl dressed like that fox girl from that one anime. wow. thats spacific. and she is staring at me intensly. as we make eye contact, her mouth slowly opens to let out a very high pitched squeel of happiness. she then procedes to run over and knock me off my feet with a glomp that contained the strength of 3 large and fully grown men. at first i was like "alright, she likes sasuke" after the initial attack, i continue on my way and wind up playing a game of hide and seak. during said activity, the same little girl reenacts our first meeting. i cannot count how many times i saw her after that. it seems she was all i could see.
sadly enough, i wore the same costume the next day and was, once again, followed by this creepy little girl.
im not sure how she found me. shes like a blood hound.......
my sasuke costume is now in full retirement and will never ever be worn again.

craziest thing that happened was at fanime 06.
my friends and i were in the swimming pool at the hilton, which is on the 3rd floor on a balcony.
as we got in i mentioned the fact that anyone on the fourth floor or higher could totally look out their window and look down our suits.
as i'm pointing up and saying this, someone looks out the window.
we all wave at each other, and they put up a finger to say "hold on"
then they return
and take a picture!
i still have no clue who that was, or what that picture looks like, but i still think about how bizarre that was.
(09) - Watching my boyfriend drink approximately 50 Lolicups from Friday to Monday... This year he's aiming for 70.
- Venturing to the liquor store and seeing the look of relief on the clerks face that I was actually paying for my purchase.
(08) - Seeing a very calm and collected friend transform into an ass-kicking, stage rushing fangirl for An Cafe
- Watching someone cosplaying the weapons dealer from Resident Evil 4 getting peace bonded.
(07) - Looking up at the hotel windows and seeing multiple sets of boobs on glass
(06) - Friend meets guy at rave. Tells me he is creepy. Friend then decides to go back to this guy's hotel in Milpitas without telling any of us. Waking up in the morning missing one person and having no idea where they are or any way to get a hold of them, only clue being mention of said creepy guy, is not how you want to wake up on Saturday. Also, reporting the missing person to Rovers/Con-Ops and having the representative start crying, telling us that she is probably okay and probably not dead is not a way to calm people down. *She was okay. Showed up a few hours later, after we barged into every room looking for her.
In 2008 I [Dresses as Bridget] went looking for my Bestie in the Hentai room [The last place I looked after searching everywhere, because she had the hotel room key Dx].
It was late and I was tired from raving so I decied to have a sit down inside the smut room and there was this guy who was dressed as Ichigo came and sat down beside me. He said "So hello there Bridget." This made me jump and I said. "Umm hello?" And he went on to say "Oh wow you have such a cute adorable voice..I can tell your no trap..." The Ichigo went on to lean in closer to me, it kind of made me cringe. And I said something like wow thanks. I felt embarassed because here I was alone and in a room full of people watching Hentai.

Well last year was the first time I ever cosplayed and on my way to the judges room I feel someone getting a feel for my rear end.
Then I turn around to see a girl presumably around 14 to 17 cosplayed as Haruhi Suzumiya still continuing to feel up my rear end. Even though I'm looking at her she just looks back smiles and repeatedly says "harassment, harassment, harassment". Then afterward she quickly runs away.
After that event I'm not sure if I should be offended or flattered.
during my first fanime, (it was like 2005 or 2006) me and my cousin were being such noobs and asking cosplayers if we could hug them. i asked a Robin (from Teen titans) if i could hug him. he told me no with such a serious face. then he turned to his friend and ran his hand up and down his leg and said "but you could touch the spandex" ( in such an oddly sexual way) i ran away.
last year, me and my cousin were in an elevator at the hilton and there was one other girl in too. before the door closed, a guy in a wolf suite (FURRY) hopped in. it was such an awkward ride. after he got off, the other girl in the elevator turned to us and screamed, "I hate it when furries come to our con! they have there own. and i also hate that they have to advertise that they're furries. i mean, i don't walk around with a giant sign that says i like feet!" then she got off. pretty awkward ride to our room.

Last year at the convention, I was taking photographs with people in my visual kei dress after getting out of the dance. I'm already tired out and off guard and someone ask for a photograph with me, so I was posing and stuff with my friends and this guy who asked for a picture. Then all of a sudden, someone BITES me on my shoulder. I'M SERIOUS. Then, I feel someone's arms around my hips and that kind of freaked me out because they did not feel like girl arms and so I looked around, and this guy picked me up (I was wearing heels, so this scared me even more) and it was this African American guy who had no badge, so I assume he's not an actual attendee and he just came to pick up chicks. And so this guy already creeped me out by picking me up, what else can he do? He whispers in my EAR if I have a boyfriend he should be concerned about, UGHHHHH. I am actually kind of phobic of guys, I'm not scared of them, they just happen to have no manners when they meet me =_____= So I tell this guy I only like girls and he puts me down and he asks, "You're sure you can't make any room for me?" And I say, "Unless you're Korean." And he replies with such a disgusting answer, "Sorry hun, I'm not that small."
=_____________= This happened a lot on Saturday night, I wasn't too pleased. I do not mind people coming in and out to check out the convention, but I'm not to fond when they invade my space AND BITING ME. Thing is, my friend caught a picture of him! He posed right in between the guy that ask me for a picture and I before he picked me up. ;_________; Thanks for traumatizing me more, I'm even more against men.

Yes there are quite a few weirdos at the Fanimu.
Me I would never ask a girl if she wanted to go back to my room out of the blue. Maybe if she was showing interest and I had some courage at the time, but even then not so directly. Though having a group of roommates would make that impossible.
As for creepers kissing girls without permission. That is simply crossing the line. Though there was one time when I hugged someone at the Fanimu without there permission, or rather mistaking permission, it sounds like this guy just decided to give you a kiss, then continued to try in a intimate matter. Thats just creepy as hell. Was it that one Vampire guy that was biting girls necks? When I saw him he was asking permission but even so I can imagine him becoming to full of himself. Though many teen/tweens became his instant fangirls when I saw him, because biting people is apparently sexy. Damn Twilight.

Was it that one Vampire guy that was biting girls necks? When I saw him he was asking permission but even so I can imagine him becoming to full of himself. Though many teen/tweens became his instant fangirls when I saw him, because biting people is apparently sexy. Damn Twilight.

I had one other bad experience at fanime before. I would really enjoy walking in the halls, but once a young lady bumped into me, she was in cosplay, so I apologized on natural reaction and she just "tsk" me and looks at me as if it was all my fault, not that it is either of our faults. Buuu, it was very confusing to me, I just want to meet more humble people at the convention, with sweet energy and manners.

Me I would never ask a girl if she wanted to go back to my room out of the blue. Maybe if she was showing interest and I had some courage at the time, but even then not so directly. Though having a group of roommates would make that impossible.
As for creepers kissing girls without permission. That is simply crossing the line. Though there was one time when I hugged someone at the Fanimu without there permission, or rather mistaking permission, it sounds like this guy just decided to give you a kiss, then continued to try in a intimate matter. *Sigh* And it's some of these horror stories that I have seen that piss me off for a variety of reasons. First, it reflects badly on anime fans and by extension the geek community. Second, it causes problems for the cons both in image and possibly legal if it were to ever (Please don't) go too far. And lastly, I am already a pretty shy guy to begin with so I really have a hard time trying to talk women without the added stress of trying to figure out how to not be suspected of being a creep while making it clear I am interested.
I know there are the obvious things about being polite, knowing when to back off, etc. I guess I just worry too much about that sort of thing. I am just as hyper paranoid when taking pictures as well. I always make sure they get a chance to see the photos I take of them.
The first Fanime I attended(2005) on the last day, I saw a random girl holding up a sign that says "Kisses for a Dollar" So I gave her a dollar and I was expecting a regular kiss on the cheek, but she ended up French kissing.
Back in 2007, I was hanging out with the Naruto group and one of the girls in the group crossplay as Naruto so we made out and suddenly Sakura joined and was on top of me followed by Kakashi who grabbed my behind. It turned out to be a Team 7 4some. Everyone took pictures and also there's a video of it on you tube.

Last year, I was in one of the elevators in the Marriott, and in each corner there were these people dressed in black facing away from everyone. I don't remember if they had their hoods up or something, but I think so. Anyway, they didn't move throughout the whole ride up to my room (I was on like the 23rd floor or something), or on any of the stops on the way up. And as any Fanime attendee knows, the elevators stop on almost every floor. I wouldn't really call it crazy, more like creative. In a kinda creepy way. I gotta give them props for not busting out laughing.

That video was taken by me, yo. Also, I don't think he's trying to boast, just sharing a wacky story about his own experience like the rest of us.
As a fellow female cosplayer who had her share of creepers, being attacked by creeps at a con should be the least of your worries. It's a lot more dangerous OUTSIDE of a convention, believe me. Most con attendees are young kids who lack proper social skills and can get a little crazy. But that doesn't sabotage an entire con. Except when someone gets seriously hurt, but that's very rare. So long as you don't interact with those people you won't have any worries.
Another thing, it's all right to be alert of creeps, but don't walk around the con in paranoia believing everyone is going to rape you. If someone is giving you unwanted attention without your consent, simply walk away, and if they persist, go to the rovers, they're scattered throughout the building.
And as for the biting vampire guy, as long as both parties are okay with it, there's no harm done.

It's an anime con, where anime fans squeal over Japanese cartoons together, and dress wildly in public. What shame is there anyway? It's true that some limits need to be placed down, but people can show off their fandoms and affections how they want, so long as it is within con boundaries, goes by con rules, and both parties are consent. I made this thread to share crazy con experiences, not to criticize others on their behavior. When really, I think it's better to not rain down on someone else's parade(unless they are really out of line and pose a threat) just because you don't like the sight of it or you don't agree. Best thing to do is to not associate with them, and be on your way.
Unless you want to do it like in the Japanese conventions, where cosplayers and fans are only allowed to change into a costume inside the con, pose for photos, buy some stuff, change, then leave.

Anime Convention=/get out of jail free pass for socially inept youths.
True, Fanime is supposed to be a fun environment for people who enjoy Anime, Video Games, cosplay, and everything that is Japanese popular culture. That doesn't mean, however, that it's ok for a bunch of tween and young teens (and older teens and young adults...I know) dressed up as their favorite characters to engage in behavior that they KNOW would be totally inappropriate outside of the "convention".
Unfortunately the whole "it's ok as long as it's within con rules and both parties 'consent'" argument falls flat because it's not just about your experience at the con. It's also about the younger generation of possible future attendees who may be there with their parents, or other professionals who may be reporting on the convention and providing a look into Fanime for the general public. Do you think that you'd want to pay for your child's weekend pass when you come on a Saturday afternoon/evening and find a huge line of scantily dressed/half naked kids with random signs that say "Hug me!" "Kisses for a dollar!" "Yuri for $5!" etc? I don't think so.
In any case, I think that it is possible to have a lot of fun at Fanime without having complete disregard for any semblance of decency just because it's "an anime convention".
