This is my first year going to Fanimecon, and also my first time cosplaying. I'm going as Sesshomaru from InuYasha.
Fanimecon falls on my birthday, and I'm wondering if anyone is looking for someone to meet there?
Basically anyone in my age range 17-20+ would be fine. I'm turning 19 next month, soo yeah.

I won't be able to cosplay though because I don't have time to make my Admiral Kizaru from One Piece outfit. I'll just wear my custom hoodie of the Admiral cloak and maybe put on a yellow, red, or blue shirt and shoes. lol

Also, if you like Pokemon(or at least think it's cute), I suggest going to this Pokemon Dinner I'm hosting at fanime :) It's most likely somewhere cheap and last time, we all sat at a table and introduced ourselves and chatted. It was a really calming way to make friends. I also suggest going to gatherings even if you don't have costumes. ^__^ There are lots of nice people at Fanime. I'm sure you can make a ton of friends :)
Well if your coming in Thursday we are holding a dinner meet & greet that night. We will also do a Friday one too for those that miss Thursday. Its not much of a huge group, last year was about 10 or so people.

First of all, welcome to Fanime! Second, I'm more than open to meeting you and hanging out if you like :)
Fanime is very good place to go every year with old/new friends :) everyone's welcoming and non-judgmental (however you will run into some radical cosplayers who think people should fit characters based on real looks) and just warm hearted. Once you get used to the layout of both floors you'll be running around everywhere taking tons of photos and seeing awesome ass costumes!
This will be my first time at Fanime, too. I would be more than happy to meet new people and enjoy the convention. ^_^

I'm just here to offer some friendly advice since I been going them for a while now, and I started going to cons alone but making new friends each time. Chances are you'll won't meet anyone from the forums and highly likely to meet some one while waiting inline, or some where else.

Does anyone ever really look at profiles? o_O I mean, I wouldnt think theres anything remotely interesting on them... Mine isn't anyway. I think creepy people are those who try too hard not to be creepy. It kinda loops back into itself.

Good lord(don't even believe in this)... I actually am planning on meeting someone at the con. We talk nearly everyday sooooo you're kinda wrong saying I won't meet anyone..
I've never met anyone from the forum, but I have met quite a few people of all ages while waiting in line, or sitting down outside, in a hallway resting, or the gaming room. I kind of keep a low profile around here, so there isn't much for anyone to go by other than my warm and fuzzy avatar. I'd meet with you but I just got age disqualified a few posts ago, lol. :o

I'll be there on Sat/Sun. I'm dragging my boyfriend with me so I wouldn't have to go alone, but I'm sure he'd be super thrilled if I could find some people to hang out with so he could go sit somewhere. :P
its pretty easy to make new friends, whether is sitting in line, or just complementing someone on their cosplay or cool swag that they have... id like to think most people are friendly at the convent.
Dont forget staff are all Fans, too.

I'll be wandering around as Russell on Saturday, but without balloons unfortunately...
Being a rover, I have to mention that there is a " NO BALLOONS " policy inside the convention center >_<
if the balloons get away from you and get stuck on the ceiling or pop near fire sprinklers... it would be all bad and very wet and soggy for the convention center...
so please let all the pinkies out there, as much as we love parties and balloons... we cannot use helium or lighter than air filled balloons... :-\
