Swimmin' and hanging out at the pool. marriott.  Who's going?

Attend some of the meetups.  Embarass yourself. Talk to people.  I met a group of cool people in line for badges last year.  Ended up spending most of the con with them and I'm meeting up with some of them this year! 

Dunno about specifically looking for a date is the way to go.  Of course, hey everything's an experience, so if you've never tried this before, go for it(and tell me how it works out! Haha).

But I think just meeting and hanging with new people is the way to go.  It's a much less volatile-feeling situation to be in as opposed to nervously trying to make a good first impression and inevitably not doing so. 

Hang out in groups and attend some of the meetups.  More likely than not, you'll be surrounded by a bunch of nervous people that don't seem nervous because they're surrounded by people who they know are nervous, but don't appear to be because they're aware that they're surrou... You get the idea...

But yeah, even soley from a first-person perspective, you don't want to needlessly accidentally be putting pressure on yourself to meet your sweetheart.  Just focus on having fun.  If ya get lucky, great! Congrats!  If not, well at least you had fun like you're supposed to!

I'm jelly of those people that meet their significant other in-game though!  Man! Woah! You mean I don't have to leave the house and we can game all day!?  That's the dream lol.

Down to meet and hang on thurs.  me and a couple buddies are gonna be showing up stupidly early to pick up badges and don't have much planned afterward.

I'm thinkin' a lap around the con center. Food. Meet new people/meet people from previous cons. happy hour. Swap meet. 

Not set in stone, but that's my current forecast for day 0 on my end.

Hello!  I managed to snag 3 nights at the Marriot and 1 at the Fairmont to complete the weekend.  I've got 5/21-5/23 and 5/24-5/25 at the Marriot(3 nights King bed) and 5/23-5/24  at the Fairmont(1 bed).

Looking to either trade
3 nights at the marriot for 3 at the fairmont
or
1 night at the fairmont for 1 at the marriot


Also, trades of just 1 or 2 nights to swap the beginning or end of the weekend is something I'd be interested in.  Having my group move just once rather than twice would be immensely better!  I'd be surprised if we're the only group with this situation!


I'm too afraid to test cancelling one night to re-book it to see how smoothly a trade would go.  If someone's got experience with this, please share!  I may go ahead and test it at some random time, otherwise.

Was a specific date and time confirmed? I know Friday was insinuated but I didn't notice a time frame. I was interested in stopping by.

Nothing set yet.  Since this is a day 0 thing, it may be difficult to forecast the time what with badge pick up and all.  PM me for my number so you can meet up with us after pick up.

Haven't taken a look at the schedule yet myself, but Thursday is pretty much just hotel check-in, badge pickup, planning/preparation, and swap meet.  That potentially leaves hours of pre-fanime free time...

Down for a pool party.  I'm not staying in one of the nearby hotels, so I couldn't "provide" the pool.  Dunno if the Wyndham has a pool either...

Well jee, I'm in Salinas too.  Complete noob at cosplay.  I'm hoping to rush a last minute Braum LoL cosplay.  ...Anybody still looking at this thread? ?=
