Hi, I have problem with badge number info.
I sell on thursday night only.
The system ask for badge number on page 5. Though I have a fanime online reg account,  but seems online registration won't send me badge number unless I pay for a full membership. So I just fill it as "no full membership", but i'm not allowed to go to the next step.
I just e-mailed you. thank you!

I have a question for seller check-in on Thursday night.
Do we have to get fanime badge in order to checkin swap meet, or we can use our drivers license for checking in?
Knowing the line, I'm worried I might not have time to get my badge before swap meet. and since swapmeet is on Thursday night, there is not a Thursday badge that sells, how is this work?
Thank you

If you have a weekend badge, you can pick up your badge on Thursday starting at 3 PM. While past performance is no guarantee of future results, I can say that last year registration did a legendary job in terms of moving the line quickly to the point that there really was no "line" throughout the con. Assuming they keep this system in place I doubt that getting your badge on Thursday will be an issue.

Additionally, (and this may have changed, correct me if I'm wrong on this Ben), the Thursday night swap meet is not a badged event. This is mainly to welcome in any and all interested buyers to peruse the swap meet, but it's also to help sellers not have to worry about getting their badge beforehand. We will require a photo ID (drivers license, state ID, passport, etc) to check you in of course, but if by chance you have not picked up your badge, that will not bar your entry to swap meet either as a buyer or seller.

Again, this may have changed but I will defer to Ben if there are any corrections to be made.  :)
To the best of my information at this time, a seller will not need to pick up their badge prior to check-in on Thursday.  The online registration will check your name against your Fanime registration, so we should be able to make do with a photo ID and the seller's agreement.  Friday, however, badges will be needed.  If this changes, I will make a post about it here.

Thank you very much for all the details to my question guys! They are really helpful for making my weekend plans.
2 more questions:
If swapmeet registration is connected to fanime online registration, does it mean only pre-registered 4-day attendees are allowed to sell on Thursday night? or is it not a badged event? Thank you!
Is seller allowed to bring a helper to carry in boxes or everything has to be taken in by the seller himself/herself? (need to decide how to pack my items) Thanks again!

No problem!

1) It will check your name against your fanime registration in general, not whether you have a 4-day pass or not. Since Thursday technically isn't even part of the con, it would make no difference if you had a 4-day badge or a 1-day badge. Basically we're just making sure that you're actually attending fanime and not just a random person looking to take advantage of the thousands of potential buyers at the swap meet! :D

2) Yes you are allowed to bring helper(s) with you, but only one other person can share the space with you. So if you bring a few guys to help you carry everything that's fine. In fact it's recommended as swap meet staff are limited in how much physical labor we can offer for help. However, once everything's moved in and in place only one person can stay in the space with you, sit, etc. There will be a spot on the registration form to identify this person so that if you have to leave (meal run, whatever) there is still someone responsible for the space sitting there.

I hope this helps!

Thank you very much! especially the details regarding #2, very helpful! It's also great to know I don't need to buy the whole weekend badge to sell on Thursday.
You guys are so considerate, I'm sure swapmeet this year will be cool and enjoyable. (haven't had chance checking out swap meet for quite a few years)  :P

Well guys, I suppose this is what we could possibly do, if BSaphire gives us the go ahead and if it's cool with everyone:

Gatherings I went to last year generally lasted roughly about an hour. So in order to be able to see the performance, we would have to push back the gathering time, because a gathering as large as ours will most likely not be ending THAT early. So what I propose is we push the gathering back to 5:30, five minutes after the assumed end of the Vocaloid live performance. Because the location is close to Stage Zero, everyone should hopefully be able to make it, and since people will possibly be late already it's not like waiting another extra five minutes is a big deal if we have to. xD

HOWEVER. Because of the Saiyuki gathering at 6, we would have to switch locations to avoid conflicting with their gathering time, and would thus be at FHS instead of FMS so we would still have shade from the trees, and it would simply be a move to the other side of the main entrance.

The only potential issue I have with this is the possible confusion it may cause. We are at a current estimate of 90 attendees, and I'd imagine it would be difficult to make sure that every one of those 90 people is aware of the time and location change. It's not like everyone checks/will check this thread religiously.

Thank you so much for being so nice and making sure everyone get what they wanted.
I'm really sorry for the trouble!
Deeply appreciate your help and arrangement, Thank you! m(_ _)m

Ahhh, I just found out that there will be a live Vocaloid performance at 5 on Friday on Stage Zero~ >A<" I dunno if we could all go to that, but just thought I'd point it out~ XDD;;

Argh, why do there always have to be schedule conflicts xDD;

Maybe we can all go after photos? The problems with all of us meeting up by Stage Zero to watch the concert before taking photos are:
1. People would probably get confused, go to the original gathering location, and not know where the crap everyone else is xD;
2. Depending on how long the concert is, we might not have enough time for photos afterward, and I believe there's another gathering in our location at 6. It would then be difficult to relocate somewhere else because the Vocaloid gathering is so large this year. ^^;

But maybe if the gathering runs shorter than expected or something we can all go watch? :3

hihi~I'm the host of the vocaloid live event on Stage Zero.

@Angelx624
Thanks for posting about the vocaloid live event on Stage Zero at 5pm on Friday. >.<

@Armored-Heart
Yea I know >< I got the time from stage zero staffs so it is not changeable. ;-; Didn't expect it to be at the same time as the gathering though.
For the vocaloid live show, we'll be performing the most famous vocaloid songs from the past 3 years (many v songs will be covered^^)
and I also got something special i hope vocaloid lovers will enjoy it.
As I checked the cosplay list, many songs of the cosplay are covered as well, so if we have vocaloid cosplayers there that will be cool!

At first I was thinking even if the gathering is in the 1st floor lobby it will be great for you guys since you could hear the vocaloid music and do photoshoot with vocaloid songs as bg music. But then my friend told me it has to be outside because there are too many vocaloid cosplayers signed up.

Either way, I hope it will work out. and wish you guys have a great cos gathering time!

Here is the facebook link of the live show:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=221440397871899
Friday (day1) 5pm-5:30pm (actually will end ~5:25pm for SZ break) @ Stage Zero
More information and guest about this event will be announced later as we are getting more close to Fanime.

Thanks! m(_ _)m

After listening to Hare Hare Yukai for 7 times during masquerade..now I can understand your pain...

1st time ^o^ singing along
2nd time ^_^ listening
3nd time ^_^;;;; ......
4th time o_o||| oh no...not again
5th time >_>   totally wordless
6th time  OTL|||  somebody help.....

Now imagine that over a 3 or 4 day weekend...3-4 conventions a year.

On a related note, we're setting up a web site where we'll post past contest results, "Most Requested" lists, articles on song recommendations for those looking to expand their j-music horizons, and also, our song library list, so that for those who want to save time at-con, you can just look up the numbers online before the con. Stay tuned for an update/announcement!

-Hank

..I'll probably lose hope of life if I had that experiences.. :-X Imagine feeling sick of all my favorite songs..what else can I listen to? I think you guys should recruit more people so that each person has less chance of reaching his/her maximum capacity.

The web site is a really good idea! I'm especially looking forward to see the song recommendations, since I'm a big fan of doujin music (or artists originally started as doujin singers/composers, such as rekka karakiri, haruka shimotsuki and sound horizon)

I just saw this vid online..akihabara maid cafe

I think maybe we could show it during the next maid cafe training or promotion.
So the maids have some idea about how it is like in akihabara ^__________^

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1cfrl_cosplaycafe_travel

I have some maid cafe pictures too..im going to post theme later..

yes, maid in akihabara. it about six episode long and its about  a woman named Saki, an ex-bar girl, tries to find a job to hide from a group of yakuza. She ends up getting a job at a Maid cafe called Meido no miyage (Maid's gift). She is the third maid to be joining the cafe. She was homeless and starts living in a 24-hour internet cafe.

i have it watched it all; very cute, a little odd at time, but its worth watching to see how it is at a maid cafe. i have it on my portable hard drive. i'll show it to you guys next time when we have are meeting next year if you guys didn't watch yet. ^^

The video is actually an interview with one of the maid cafes in akihabara.

And yes! I know the "maid in akihabara" videos you are talking about ^_____^ I just got a DVD from my friend and he said it is extremely funny. I'm gonna watch it now xD

My friends came by and they said the food are actually pretty good comparing to other places in the convention.
(and yes they are overpriced as other places too)

i brought a tuna salad sandwich after my shift (as my friends recommended) and it tastes really good with fresh lemon juice =D I was surprised!
