if i remember correctly, last year when i reserved a hotel room, i was able to physically type out what it was i needed, such as a refrigerator request at the marriot, but this year i cant :<

it sorta sucks cause i have to call up the hotel now and make sure they put down that i want a refrigerator and a deluxe double room instead of a normal double room.



and on a side note, to the person/s in charge of the hotels, i gave a call to the marriot today to make sure they got my requests and they said that no reservation popped up under my name. should i wait awhile? contact you guys? or what should my plan of action be from here?

i dont know what your talking about, the hilton and marriot still have rooms availible O_o

both hotels have friday sold out but both hotels both still have a sat+sunday room open for the cheaper rooms

Ive been staying in a hotel during fanime for the last 4 years, and last year i must say i was over joyed with the room i got. this room was located on the very corner of the marriot build and because of that, it had a really long hallway before you reached the beds.

anyway because i got this room, i was able to fit all 6 of my friends comfortably. my question is:

If i fill out on the "Special Requests" section of the reservation form, do you think that the marriot (or hilton) would honor my request? has anyone had good luck with the special requests section in regards to the hotel honoring your request?

 i was able to work a few people down this last fanime, saved a few bucks too.

i saw a plushie of chibi-inukami that i knew my girlfriend would love. so i walked up and asked the price. the lady told me it was $50 and so i began talking to her more. i expressed how i know my girlfriend would love it and how its so cute...but then i talk like im talking to myself and say: " but man, $50 for a plushie is alot". i asked if there was anyway she would sell for less, please notice i did not say "would you sell for $xx.xx", but just asked if she could drop the price at all.

and she was nice enough to drop it to $40 :')

my friend bought one last con from some vendor.

he got :
*a t-shirt which was super small
*a couple keychains
*and one of those small boxes with a figure inside


i forget what shirt it was but overall he said it was not worth it

fanime has everything i would possibly want from a dance at an anime convention.

*big room
*lights
*great music
*surrounded by people who love anime


what more could you want?

ive been telling my friends for years how i think Maximum the hormone would be epic. just imagine the mosh pit for the theme song for death note.

yeeah i live in san jose, and felt like everytime i stepped into the con i was escaping san jose into a different world! sucks to be back :/

the more I stare here at my loot, the more I don't want it to be over. Time to snap back into reality and become a human again.

I'll take a glimpse, and smile thinking of the amazing time I had. But I'll do a double-take and get depressed knowing it's over.

i almost felt bad having brought back from things from fanime because they reminded me of how it was over D: im sure in a few days things will be fine and i will be able to look at these items and smile thinking of the good time i had...but for now these wall scrolls i bought and other things will remain in my closet until im back to my normal cheery self >.<

There were ups and downs for me. From new roommates to being a victim of theft. It's still the same. I still get hit with PCD. I mean, it wasn't instant because I was mad at something that happened, but the moment I arrived at my house, it hit me. It feels weird to be back home.

i know right? i mean driving my friends home didnt seem so bad but as soon as i dropped my GF off at her place and started driving home alone is when it hit me like a train.
           how im not going back to the hotel room tonight, how im not going to be able to stay up late mingling with other people dressed up as anime chars, how im not going to wake up with all my friends next to me deciding what fun things we will do during the con....when this all hit me i pulled over for a minute just to sorta take a deep breath   :'(  now im home and i miss the hotel room even more...not to mention i gotta sleep early so i can get up early for classes.  and i mean i can watch anime to take my mind off things but i have to say ive gotten used to those big screen projectors showing me my favorite animes  :(

I'll say. I'm in a total funk...  :'( This was probably my favorite Fanime yet, too. Major suckage. >.<

i can agree with that. this fanime was definitely the best for me too. there was drama on sunday but i cleared it up by sunday night and enjoyed the con to its fullest.

i envy the people who have summer break atm. im on quarter system at my collage and i got school for another month :<

I had a pretty good time at this year's Fanime.  Of course there are always a handful of con-goers/staffers that irk me in one way or another, but I'll try not to nitpick.

I think my biggest complaint would have to be the pre-reg badge pickup.  I found it rather shocking that given the number of people in line, there were only 5 booths open on Thursday night.  A few people I was in line with even joked that pick-up of Friday may be shorter.  Thankfully, the group registration process helped with the line somewhat.

Is it possible to just mail out badges?  Fanime grows in attendance each year, and at this rate 5 staffers handing out badges to thousands of people may not cut it.  Is there a reason that badges aren't mailed out?  I understand that IDs are checked when badges are picked up, but only if you're a group leader or group of one.  I think that charging $5-$10 to have badges mailed out would be a great way to make profit, since postage for a single badge isn't going to cost $5.  I would be more than happy to pay that much (or more) if it saves me from 3 hours of standing in line.

If this isn't possible, maybe have more than 5 booths open during pre-reg pickup.  If there's difficulty obtaining bodies, then provide incentives for volunteering, such as picking up your badge without having to in line.  Do they still provide double hours on Thursday?

Anyway, I had fun this year at Fanime.  Staffing something of this magnitude is hard work; I know from experience.  Kudos to everyone who put their time and effort into this.  I'm thinking of possibly staffing/volunteering next year.  Can't wait!

its sucks having such an awesome weekend and feeling care-free and then suddenly snapping back in to reality that tommorrow there will be no more fanimcon until next year and now we must resume normal life T_T

i was on the 26th floor looking out the window with my girlfriend when suddenly we saw the doors close O_O  we thought it was a ghost.

then as we rode down the elevator we heard the alarm between the 10th-14th floor
