i think Noir was a lil on the weak side. my friend who works at a video store recomended it so i rented the first dvd. i was just "bleh" and gave up on it. it seems really repetitive. an assasination here, an assasination there, a bit of story in between, and, what the hell, a cuppulacorn dogs. i got bored...FAST.

As much as I fear this becoming a flame thread of heavy denials....

.hack series. I loved all of them yes but the angst carried on a little TOO much. But then again this law would apply to Lain, Saikano, and Angel Sanctuary which I all enjoyed. So let's say it wasn't boring it was just...long.

Naruto. I could care less about this series because the anime seems like it takes AGES for a fight to end and now that there's a jerk on the loose I just CAN'T stand it.

There was this one series that was only 2-3 episodes but I thought it was enough...like my brain won't handle it. It was done by the people by Excel saga and I don't remember what it was @_@

Btw Darryl, you're not explaing how it was stupid and boring.

i agree about .hack... i watched like a few episodes... maybe ten? it wasn't that great.. took wayyy too long cuz they were talking FOREVER... it's most likely because i'm impatient..i just stopped cuz there was no point in watching it.

I would disagree that Noir is "weak."  I think it's a very well conceived story, but it takes a while for it to entirely pan out and the pacing is slow.  The "single assassination" forumula you noticed in the first DVD gives way to a grander narrative that doesn't rely on a set formula in later episodes.  It's general Bee Train stuff.  The above mentioned .hack also suffers from said Bee Train syndrome.

I happen to like Bee Train series, so I don't particuarily have a problem with either.  For that matter, I rather enjoyed both.

i know i'm gonna be called nuts for this, but DBZ was just too damn long and it took 4-5 episodes for just one fight...

even if DBZ was too long, it still got me to watch those rediculous fights, even if it did take 4-5 episodes to end lol =P

Puni Puni Poeny? ^^

As for me, I thought that Key the Metal Idol was kinda dumb.....mainly because of all that stuff about 'gel' and it was a bit too slow...the ending was kinda anti-climatic as well...

Ichigo 100% My god I couldn't bare to watch a single episode of that...

Dragon Ball (Z, GT, all freekin incarnations dammit...) Could there be more fighting and episode long monologues? I mean, seriously?

Key, The Metal Idol - I could watch all of Lain and it could make sense to me. I can watch this 3 times and I'd still be like, "Okay... wtf? Why am I wasting my time here? Red Dwarf doesn't start for another half hour..."

Yeah, I know what you mean, they just kept regurgitating the same things over and over, only there were slightly different scenerios. But for some reason I liked it...maybe it was those cute maid outfits!
Anyway, Inu Yasha, Naruto, and even the infamous DBZ can't hold my attention for too long. I was never much for ninjas or dog boys, and although I was into DBZ in the beginning, I soon realized how repetative the show was. I'm not a fan of any anime that is more than 26 episodes long though, because I want there to be just one story, I don't want to follow the characters' lives from birth to death! No story needs 50 hours or more to be told. But different people like different things, I suppose.

Whoa . . . whoa.   Just so we all know, this question was put 'out there'.  Hence that is the nature of my answer.

Damn Chobits.
I love the fashion.  I love its romantic/erotic loveliness, if one can say so.
I love the idea of a story revolving on a nice 'girl' and an average guy who feel something missing unless they find someone to care for.

But really, as much as those aspects spell out Fortitude, its weakness is the pedophilia.  Chi has the mind of a two-year-old.  The guy has the mind of a 15-year-old looking for a bang to tell his buddies about the next day.  It's not even that Chi is an adult female character who chooses to be precocious (the way we like our Gothic Lolita fashion to be)--no, her mind has literally started up fresh as a newborn's.
No matter how in-love they ended up, I do not believe the ends always justify the means, and in this case it is a horny, horny-ass guy who just has the luck to teach those who watch it, "It's that easy."  It's true that people who enjoy anime or learn something or other from watching it are not necessarily dumb or bad.  It's just that . . . there are dumb and bad people who learn from stupid and worse examples.

There's a lot of cultural nuances that don't translate, which is okay--it was created with Japanese consumers in mind.  I see how a woman learns to be a woman in a Southeast Asian culture acts in courtship and lovemaking: be complacent.  That's their culture.  We don't have to learn it, and I prefer we shant.  The anime addresses the values of faith and faithfulness with your partner a few times.  I like that, but damn, pedophilia doesn't fit anywhere near that.  The luck of that story is just not appropriate in any sense.

Every time I hear chobits, I scream in pain of remembering its sugary addicting theme, "Let me be with you".

DBZ obviously went on too long, much less even having a decent story.
DBZ fight formula:
Episode x
Character A fights

Episode x+1
Character B fights

Episode x+2
Character A is about to lose

Episode x+3
Character A's fighting ability grows to 60%
Character B is about to lose

Episode x+4
Character B's fighting ability grows to 70%
Character A is badly hurt

Episode x+5
Character A grows to 75%....

and so on and so on....

.hack was a bit too long. As stated, the music dragged on, and the character self-reflections took up most of the story.

Noir was a bit too long in its execution. I tried watching this series 3 times before falling asleep on every shot. It just didn't work for me, and I watch the occassional psychological/action anime often.

I actually really liked Dragon Ball...  the one when they were little kids getting all their training and stuff? But the rest of it...  everybody died and came back at least four times.

Personally, I think Yu Yu Hakusho should have stopped right after the Dark Tournament.  The Sensui saga turned me off and I haven't even seen the Makai Tournament because of that.

Boys Over Flowers at 51 eps felt too long whereas Marmalade Boy at 76 eps didn't bother me at all.  :?

Depends on which series. Liminality = win. Sign = lose. Legend of the Twilight Bracelet is somewhere inbetween.

And yes, Chobits is rather shallow.

And yes, I'm not one for Naruto. I don't get why people are so addicted to that show -- especially considering their fillers going on right now. I'm also very concerned that it's going to turn into another DBZ -- I mean, the Sannin battle took place in some place in the middle of nowhere.

Just like DBZ. It's starting to weaken.

And yes, DBZ can burn in the pits of hell without any kind of revival or resurrection whatsoever in any form.

Oh, and can I mention the travesty that is Wind -a breath of heart- TV? The OVA was okay, but the TV series just was so iffy on the graphical side, it turned me off in the first episode. :(

Hmm...I think the series I can't stand watching currently is Initial D. Just no. Maybe It's becuase I'm a girl or something, but yeah, it just bored the shit outta me. I was falling asleep in anime club when we watched it.

That, and...Do-Re-Mi...if that's even considered an anime.

Other than anime..the thing that just makes me want to kill myself if I'm ever forced to watch it again s Brats. just NO.

Speed Grapher ruled until about the 14th or so episode.

Then it went all down hill.

And then i think Naruto is just a bit too long. And them fillers are pretty bad too.

and the Gravitation manga kind of got me really bored.

i watched speed grapher up until like episode 7 or 8, i think the idea of the seires was cool, but the anime didn't live up to that idea i think.

i watched 2 episodes of he is my master, and it just annoyed me, it's too bad that the maid outfits are so cute, and pochi is adorable as well, but it sucks that they belong to a series that isn't as nice =/

I think Chun hit the nail right on the head about Dragonball Z.  I like the series, but yeah... how long do some of these battles really need to go? (and mind you, the stories were pretty long in the Manga before all the side plots were added into the T.V. series).
Yu Gi Oh! seems to suffer from the same problem of stretching out battles over multiple episodes to.

I survived .hack//sign before I completed the Noir series.  If you watch .hack//sign with determination, I think you can make it through nearly anything.  Which isn't to say I don't like it- I did - it just really is a slow, dialogue-based show.  The music was probably what got me to keep with it more than anything else.

I loved Noir.  Didn't feel it was too slow at all.  The action kept it interesting and the storyline developed pretty nicely after the 7th ep or so.  And the first time I watched the entirety of it, it was on HK subs- which made NO sense - so I think that's really sayin' something.

But I can't get through Lain.  I've tried twice, continuing from where I left off, and I still haven't reached the end.  Don't get me wrong- I usually watch 3 or 4 eps at a time, but I feel like my brain's going to rot.  First it's slow, boring, and nothing's happening- then it's slow, bizarre, and made little or no sense to me.  Bah.

I enjoy Gunslinger Girl, and yet... for some reason, I can never really watch more than one episode at a time.  I guess it's because the storylines all seem so distant from one another and never really join anywhere.  I haven't completed it, so don't flame me if I just haven't gotten there yet or something...

Um, I enjoyed Inuyasha, and I still do, i just...REALLY wish it had ended a LONG time ago.

Chrono Crusade. As short as it is, it's still too long. Too confusing, toomuch- 'we know all this crap but we're not going to tell it to you till the very end just to make you suffer, mwuahahahah' stuff going on. I don't know why...sort of the same with Wolf's rain. Wanted to know what everything meant, just didn't think it was THAT interesting to keep going with it.

Love Naruto, it's just the fillers I've had enough of. But technically, fillers don't count, so I got no complaints here. :D love the long fights...

Yami no Matsui, the anime, short and sweet. Love it. ^-^ The manga..what happened? O.o''
