Panels and Workshops / Hetalia Panels at Fanime 2014
January 09, 2014, 07:37:17 PM
Hello Hetalians! A friend and I are planning on hosting
2 Hetalia Panels for Fanimecon 2014 and are looking for people to audition for positions on the panel(s). There are some characters taken due to a selected auditioning held, but this one is specifically for the public. We are not official yet, as panel submissions are not being accepted yet, but we'd prefer to get a head start on this.

The list of characters already taken so far (it will be updated once more auditions are accepted) :

England: Sarah Grace -Both panels

Hungary: Kody Jackson- Both panels

China: Monica Sai- Both Panels

Chibitalia: Brieanna Galindo- 1st panel

Spain: Demetria Yaqoob- 1st panel
Spain:Kristina Vasquez- 2nd panel

Canada: Sarah Stanley-Both Panels

Japan: Alicia Liu- Both Panels

America: Kristopher Doodha - Both Panels

Chibi America: Kristina Vasquez- 1st Panel

Italy: Kiana McBurney - 1st Panel
Italy: Brieanna Galindo- 2nd panel

Romano: Demetria Yaqoob- 2nd panel

Finland: Viggo Mercer - Both panels

Sweden: Jess Stoncius- Both panels

Prussia: Violet Jackson - Both

Sealand: Valentina Courrege - 1st panel

Iceland: Valentina Courrege -2nd panel

Norway: Becky Chermock - Both

Austria: Kiana McBurney - 2nd panel

Russia: Ryan Jarecki - Both

The first panel will consist of a Q&A as well as a small truth or dare section near the end of the panel and will only consist of cannon and chibi characters.

The second panel will be a 13+ panel that will be of characters dressed in pajama like cosplay and will solely consist of  Truth or Dare throughout the panel. We ask that in your video audition you state whether or not you are okay with being asked shipping/pairing questions. If you are accepted into this panel, we will send you the dress code we will be placing for this panel due to it being with pajamas.

If you wish to audition, we ask that the following questions be answered in a video audition(s):

  • Name/Age
  • Indicate what panel(s) you wish to be in
  • State what country/countries you wish to audition for the panel(s)
  • State whether you've had panel experience before
  • Please do a small skit using dialogue from Hetalia portraying your character and showing off your acting skills.

Here are ways to turn in your audition(s):

Youtube: Please post the video link here on this forum page.

Facebook: click the following link, and request to join the Hetalia Panel page where you can submit your audition video there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/510331525708013/

Most commonly asked questions:

  • I don't have any panel experience can i still audition?
Yes you can. its not required that you have any panel experience.
  • I want to audition for both panels am i allowed to?
Yes you are. If the character you want isn't up there for both panels then you are more then welcome to audition for both panels,we ask that you state that in your video audition.
  • I want to audition as one character for the 1st panel, and a different character for the 2nd panel, is that ok?
That is perfectly fine. we just ask that you submit 2 skit videos with you reciting character dialogue for both characters.
  • I don't have my cosplay/wig yet, but i'm planning on getting it soon. Am i still able to audition?
yes you are. We just ask that you show us a picture of your cosplay or wig when you do get it.
  • I can't submit my audition in youtube or facebook, is there any other way to turn it in?
Please PM me and you can send it by email.
  • Why is the second panel 13+?
The second panel is 13+ because since it is a truth or dare panel we are expecting some shipping dares to be asked
  • I don't feel comfortable with/doing shipping questions or dares what can i do?
Please state that you are not ok with shipping questions or dares, and we will work something out for you. Mind you, it won't be like you have to kiss anyone as we would not enforce that with the panel members.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask!  :)

so since fanime is coming closer upon us, i think it'd be really great to decide an official time for the event say..in april? tht way everything is ship shaped for may! :D so throw some suggestions out there guys. Thanks!
#13
I agree with onee-chan. Saturday works best for me too .
#14
So since Fanime is coming up, i'd like to get a rough idea of what time would work best for everyone, that way everyone can come and have a fair equal opportunity. The past times I've gone was around 12-ish or 2 something. Please let me know what works best for you. Thanks!

I must say i am very displeased with how fanime is running this year. some of the things are fine. but to not notify your customers on an exact day that it would change is ridiculous! yes they show it on here. but i hardly go on here at all and am mostly using facebook and expect updates on there. for shame  >:(
I hardly go on Facebook, but I expect updates to be posted on Fanime's web site rather then social media.
it can go either way. the emphasis is for the individual  user to try to stay in-tuned with Fanime as much as possble (at least that's what my undstranding is...)

I would suggest you login to facebook at least 3 sec a day(duration being to check updates and stuff) to check for any more fanime updates... then proceed to your daily routines(reddit, yahoo, etc...). Ir may be(obviously) debatabily fruitless efforts, but nonetheless- it is promising.... there is always a point to try and do something other than "add a friend" when it comes to facebook.... is no longer a social media site these days- but a propaganda/multimedia distributer...

In short summary, add fanime to your facebook or create one and do so- and then follow them on a second-per-daily basis... it may seem a bit uber... but in reality, it's a only as simple as checking the articles in a newspaper... and they only get published at last-second, so their info is more accurate than yesterday's newscaster on tv...

which very few people read newspapers thesedays :( ...

[my apologizes for any future misunderstandings...]

Actually i do have a facebook and hav them on my page and i go on there daily and not once has anything been updated from them. its like they expect people to know but fail to notify anyone of such changes.

awesome!!

OH btw just for everyone on the page that wants to go, please remember, if you have a facebook there is an event page for this and you can just add urself to the "going" list since its easier to keep track of. If not then don't worry there will be updates here as well.

Just a thought: Will we be meeting somewhere in the convention center before walking over?
I figure we would know who's part of the gathering a little bit before heading off. It would probably make things easier.
Just a suggestion. :]

Yes but it'd depend on who's coming and what not. if a lot of people are attending then i plan on meeting outside and making a kind of sign for every1 to c. but if only a small few will be attending then possibly just meetup at a certain time near a lil location every1 knos away from the crowded con. :)

just during fanime time, because the workers there know fanime is going on so thats why they give discounts  :)
