Hi~
My name is Scarlet and this will be my 3rd year as a fanimaid. Fanimaid has been a great experience for me these past years, and it's something I would have definitely regretted not signing up for. I've made so many friends and it's just amazing to do fanimaid live and have fun with the maids with Haruko Momoi concerts and other events. (I would be lying if I said that I wasn't influenced to join just a bit because of the great relationship between fanimaid cafe and Momoi)

The staff is great and makes sure everything is in order and the maids are great and give moe~ vibes off. It's a pleasant atmosphere to be in. You get to talk to con goers AND make friends with fellow maids! (SOCIAL LINKS) Although it's very fun, it's important to be respectful to our goshujin-sama and ojou-sama!

We have a lot of new girls every year and I'd say that all of us are really friendly, so don't be shy! We had pretty much a mandatory/practice meeting for fanimaid live on thursday or the con (or was it friday? ww) last year, and so you get to know some people from tryouts and meet even more new people at the con before we actually work together! If you have any questions you can always ask staff. I definitely encourage anyone interested to try out!

Almost jealous of your Saki PSP poster, but I don't really care for Nodoka. The Sheryl and Ranka on the sides of your computer are really nice~ and the small makai tenshi jiburiru and little busters mini posters (I don't know if there's a correct term for it) are awesome.

Prop policy:  Publish this further in advance of the con.  Several props, which were not even functional as weapons, were made useless by the way that the weapons policy was worded and money was wasted on them.  The rest of us should have to suffer because a few people were not using common sense and courtesy.  In any case, one week before the con isn't enough time to prepare on props.

I'm sorry, but I also agree with this. Fanime probably has one of the strictest prop policies I've ever seen at an anime convention. I was walking around with a wooden sign, because it was part of my character. I actually cosplayed this character last year too, and I was never bothered about it. This year a staff member came up to me and told me to get it peace bonded. I agreed, thinking it shouldn't be too much trouble. I go up to where they were peace bonding and talk to two guys there and our conversation went something like:
Me: "Do I need to get this peace bonded? A staff member told me I should"
Them: "...What's the worse you're going to do with this? Give people splinters?"
Me: "I actually sanded down the wood."
Guy 1: "I know, I was joking. You should probably ask that girl down there."
He points to the end of the table where another staff member is sitting, so I decide to go down there and again, ask if I need to get it peace bonded. She asks me what the sign says, saying she's not fluent in Japanese. I told her what the sign says. Confessions for 100 yen. Just like my character's sign in the anime. She then goes on to tell me I can't sell things and compares it to free hug signs. Then she tells me I need to change my sign all together...At this point I'm kind of angry. It is not in anyway similar to a free hug sign, It was a prop used for an accurate representation of the character. Even more than that, it was written in Japanese. We don't even use yen in America. I absolutely had no intention of making money off of my cosplay. I know that you guys are trying to be cautious, but I don't think that my sign was disruptive or caused problems. I can't think of a better way to word it. This was probably the only thing that really disappointed me about FanimeCon this year.

Oh wow. Friday and Monday are awesome days for me, What ever works. Even Sunday would work. Ahh I'm so excited already.

2nd episode of Umineko made me cry :'( and scared me..DX

I remember crying so much when i read that part. ;_; Also, theres already a new character for episode 5 Ahh she looks so cool~ I want to cosplay her already.

DEFINITELY going as someone from umineko. Right now the two biggest possibilities in my mind are Lambdadelta and Bernkastel. I'll have to get back to you when i decide. I Would do Beatrice if her dress wasn't so...ALL OVER THE PLACE. Also, Umineko anime aired today. :'D

I'm actually not so depressed right now. I'm very happy about how this years con turned out. It'll probably hit me in the middle of the year sometime though because i'll remember fanime and want to go back again.

4!? I only saw one other zange besides me. She was the asian one. I was the more uhh tan one. My cross kept falling out of my hair. lol. I saw two Nagi's though.

Her concert was really awesome. <3 I had a lot of fun. My arms and legs are still sore. Aghhh. Totally worth it though.

I was Murrue from Gundam SEED and Sumeragi from Gundam 00 Second Season at the Gundam gathering. I wore Sumeragi for awhile after the gathering as well. I attend the Soul Eater gathering as Marie. In the evening, I was Haru from Hitman Reborn, and I was with a I-pin and a Hibari.

Sunday
I was Miranda at the D.Gray-man gathering at 10am. I attended the Bleach gathering as Orihime in her school uniform. I was the one holding the Kon. At the Shounen Jump gathering, which evolved in the Gintama gathering, I was Otae. I was the Mugi at the K-ON! gathering who brought snacks. In the evening, I was Murrue from Gundam SEED again.

The closer fanime gets the more i actually notice how actually close it is. I couldn't help but notice the expiration date on my milk carton this morning was May 22nd.

I was going to cosplay Bernkastel or Ange, but i didn't think anyone would go to fanime from umineko. I felt like it was too early since the anime is coming out in the summer. I'll probably cosplay from umineko in 2010 though.
