Gaming / [tales of] VESPERIA.
September 30, 2008, 09:04:37 PM
This is actually an inquiring thread.
Has anyone here played it?
(It's for the Xbox 360, if anyone asks.)

I wanted to get some honest opinions about the game.
Did you like it? Was it fun?
Or is it basically like a majority of the 'Tales' games?

One of my favorite parts of 'Tales' games is the battle system.
How awesome are the characters?
Is the storyline pretty much the same as most RPG-love-love-kiss games?

I've recently been playing Radiant Mythology for the PSP (Tales of the World).
It's mostly because of this game that I'm so interested in a lot of the 'Tales' games now.
I am considering getting Vesperia, and just the artwork & screenshots has me ready to get it.

I'll get it despite anyone's opinion, but what are some of the things you like/dislike about this game?

Things in the Universe / Re: memories.

A happy memory that I don't think I'll ever forget happened only a few days ago!

I was walking through the thrift store, looking for parts for a costume for Halloween, when I saw it -- a glowing light had appeared just overhead a straw hat with pink frills on it, and my mind immediately squealed, "I MUST HAVE IT."

I had nothing but compliments (they seemed genuine, what do I know?) about the hat as I waltzed out proudly in it, my dad laughing and saying, "We should go to Lake Elizabeth Sunday. It looks like a Sunday-out kinda hat."

Sure! It just depends on what you'd like some tips on. ^_^;;
I love the way you color! Solid colors always looks so good.

That's a hard one.
I like werewolves more, so it's more on preference than anything. <3

We're talking happy memories.
Memories that you reflect on with a smile.
Memories that make you laugh. Memories that make you tear up.
Memories that are unforgettable.

Perhaps it was just at Fanime last year.
Maybe it was when you confessed to your crush you liked them, and they shared the same feelings.
Could it be when a friend did something dumb, and you both laughed until your sides hurt?
Or maybe it was the memories of a lost loved one, and the times you spent with them are untouchable.

Something timeless. Something you can't imagine yourself being without.

- My fondest and most favorite memories are of my late Grandma Anna. I was too young and dumb to truly appreciate her, but when I reflect on everything she did for me as a child, she's my hero. I remember the simple things; like sitting on her lap while she cut our nails since we were only kids and weren't gonna do it ourselves. She'd use these scissor-like cutting things and told me, "Don't worry. I'm not going to cut you." but I kept whimpering and saying she was going to hurt me.

Christmas is a time of year I remember most. She'd make these badass cookies that were to die for, but we wouldn't be allowed to have any until after dinner. I remember the brightly lit Christmas tree next to the large clock that went off every hour, and a wooden piano across from that. We were always so desperate to open our presents, but she'd tell us, "When we eat, we eat. When we play, we play."

I have too many memories to list, but even the simple thought and typing this now, I'm already tearing up.
And despite having to lose her as early as I did and to such a cruel disease as cancer, I appreciate and adore her legacy. There's no room for sorrow. Only healing and happy memories.

I lived in Salinas for some time with my mom.
I was doing independent studies there.
I really liked it there. I think I lived near a stadium where they held rodeos or something.
The cool air is terribly refreshing, and I love the ride there.

I paid $15 for a single FFT figurine.
I would have rather paid that kinda money for a box that I [knew] what was in it. :/
I didn't get the one I wanted, heh.

We also spent money on food.
But then again, all we had was CANDY.
And I was never in the mood.
Next year, I bring actual stuff to eat instead of starving myself.

More music!
I only found one dealer booth through my venture (that wasn't exclusively J-rock or something), and absolutely [no] selection.
At least, for what I was looking for.
I ended up spending most my money on cool FF figurines.

I always choose an anime I really like, and dedicate myself to finding merchandise for it.
<3 Let's hope I have more luck in 2009!

I really enjoy something you can feel with your heart.
I'm not being cheesy. I mean when the bass is so loud, that you can feel it pumping through you.

Something fast, furious, and with serious bass would be awesome.
But a little of everything is cool too. :)

Incredible Stuff I can Make / Hrm. Art!
September 25, 2008, 04:10:11 AM
I'm a bit nervous about this because I haven't really 'showed off' any of my art before.
At least, not to anyone here.

I'm a bit of a newbie to this whole graphically colouring thing.
So most my stuff is traditional (terribly traditional - I can't color to save my life).

Lord of the Rings. <3
A movie I hold so close to my heart.

[Frodo] I can't do this, Sam...
[Sam] I know... It's all wrong. By rights, we shouldn't even be here. But we are.

It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really matter. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end, 'cause how can the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened?

But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow -- even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer. Those are the stories that stay with you. That meant something. Even when you were too small to understand why.

But I think, Mr. Frodo... I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances to turn back -- really, they did. They kept going, because they were holding on to something.

[Frodo] ... What were they holding on to, Sam...?
[Sam] That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for.

Let's see...
I'll probably be debuting my Carrie Fernandez costume from Castlevania 64.
I honestly have grander ideas in mind, but Carrie seems the easiest on my list. :3
I really can't wait~! I'm so psyched about '09! <3

I guess it kind of depends on how long I've slept, and whether I slept good. I can be a morning person, bright and giggly when I've been awakened with love (cheesy!). I can stand to stay up for long hours of the night if I wish, although I've been working on my sleeping schedule. But I think I'm definitely an afternoon kind of person. I love doing things during the day, especially if I have charming company.
