i believe there is no such thing as a pirate ninja. Ninjas and pirates cannot be one...

ah...no not really? i didn't start this thread, so i can't change the first post. that's why i move the list to the next page whenever another one starts up ^^" so, if you find the list on the last page, that's the updated on.

i *could* put it in a post i made on the first page, though. would you people prefer that?
...then i'd have to go back and delete all the other lists so people won't get confused...

If you edit your post on the first page and include the date updated/edited, you don't have to delete the other lists because they're dated also.  But what Kiba says is okay too.  i didn't realize it myself until I reread this thread, it's interesting seeing who's posted and whatnot, etc.

Oh I don't know, I sort of liked seeing the updated list on each page. Like you said, you put it on every new page so it's not exactly the hardest thing in the world to miss. Well, maybe that's just me, but I like being reminded, it shows you're on top of things, and well..just my opinion I guess. ^^

I'd probably end up re-reading the whole thread again anyway just for fun!   :D

the ninja and pirate gatherings should be at the same time so each group can do their group huddles and photos and whatnot and then...

Well now...here's something that looks quite like something I'd actually end up doing. xD That is, if random pirates from Pirates of the Carribean count. ^^' Too bad I'd be wanting to dress up as a ninja around the same time. Am I a blashemy to myself? XP

heh heh if you could do a split costume â€" half pirate/half ninja â€" and yes, we’d be accepting Pirates of the Carribean pirates.  You might have a problem fighting yourself, tho ...

By the way, I’ve been told of two other anime featuring pirates: Mars Daybreak and Elemental Gelade, for anyone who's interested.

My friends are talking me into a Naruto cosplay and I'm almost decided on trying a winged Chouji for 2007.  But there's a minor character in one of the filler episodes that looked fairly easy (the curry-making grandma), or the Raiga/Ranmaru characters in the same storyline (which would be more complicated but if anyone saw my Kenpachi/Yachiru outfit, they'll know what lengths I'll go to for cosplay  :wink: ).

Ahoy all ye pirate cosplayers!  Any of you interested in a pirate gathering at Fanime 2007?

Since I expect (hope) to see the majority of pirates from One Piece I’d like to coordinate the time and place of this gathering either before or after the One Piece gathering so those cosplayers won’t have to come back at another time.  Other anime/non-anime featuring pirates?  Outlaw Star, Kyo Kara Maoh, Pirates of the Caribbean, Captain Harlock, Firefly/Serenity, Peter Pan, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Samurai Champloo (weren't those pirates?).  I know there are plenty of others out there.  

Tentative meeting place would be by the fountains out front of the convention center.  If you wish, bring your flag to hoist with your group.

I would like to limit this gathering to pirates, please.  If any members of the Navy or Marines, pirate hunters, bounty hunters, etc. show up, we will give preference in photo shoots to the pirates.  If there is time afterwards, we’ll incorporate the rest of you in photos  BUT PLEASE!  We will be on neutral territory during the gathering and a period of temporary truce will be enforced, thank you!  Anyone attempting to collect on a bounty or make an arrest will be keelhauled!

For myself, I am hoping to be Arubida pre-demon fruit (One Piece).

Hey I was wondering if people got pics from the One Piece gathering or of a certain Pokemon trio of Brock, Jenny and Joy. I'm just trying to see what kinds of pictures were taken of those things.

Sucros....you and your commentary make me happy.  That pic of the Vash(s) spooning was nothing, you missed our crazy outing to McDonalds like 15 minuets later ^_~.  And believe you me, many a person missed some crazy (and sometimes unintentional) vash-on-vash and vash-on-wolfwood yaoi action (sorry ladies, only 353 more days till more ^_^)  Oh and on a side note, more people dress in Trigun attire next year

I'd love to come back as Kenpachi, but I'll try to do something about my headpiece.

I have to apologize for poking people, it was unintentional, that's what happens when you try out your costume without anyone around you.  If I were a foot and a half taller, it probably wouldn't have been a problem.  But at my height (or lack of), I was up in others shoulders/heads whenever I was in a group.

I stayed at the Marriott last year and this year and had no problems either time.  This year I got a room on the 8th floor and was able to walk up/down the stairs when I couldn't wait for the elevator.  I was able to snag a fridge last year, but they had run out already by the time I checked in on Friday - I didn't need it after all, though so no prob there.

I like that the Marriott has the Asian film rooms downstairs so I could just run downstairs and hop into one of the rooms (sweet!).  The Corner Cafe Kitchen was not bad, either, the salads were not that expensive and they had a great bag of tortilla strips.

oh... and I dunno what the Hilton stocks, but the Marriott had nice Bath & Bodyworks Aromatherapy Citrus somethingsomething Shampoo/Conditioner/Lotion/Soaps. i forgot to grab the unused ones before we left :X.

Aromatherapy Orange Ginger body lotion, shampoo and conditioner.  Only the body lotion is available for purchase at the Bath & Bodyworks shops, I have checked at several places and even asked at the front desk:  the shampoo and conditioner are only to be had in a room at a Marriott.  :cry:

I managed to get a late checkout on Monday (2:00pm) but was able to get my car from valet, load up all my luggage, and then have it returned it to parking with no problem and not a long wait for the car, either.  So I checked out by 9:00 instead and hung out in the vid rooms, etc.

The maids were very friendly and understanding when I had to go up to my room to change for a gathering on Saturday and offered to come back later to clean up.

Had Cartoon Network (!) and managed to catch Samurai Champloo.  I'll be staying at the Marriott next year too.

I was too busy workin all the con days to really take pics or look around T^T Anyone get any good shots of the Pyramid Head cosplay? I'm a HUGE Silent Hill and horror game/movie fan and thought that was so kewl that someone cosplayed ol' PH XD Also jus wonderin if anyone out there had gotten any shots of the Stage Zero staff n what not ^^;

ok, i know i posed for like 7,000 pics but i have only seen one of them online, it makes me cry inside, and i dun like being emo.  I was dressed as wolfwood and had the sunglasses, the smoke, the cross everything (some of you know who i am because i was the one with the wodden cross-punisher that weighed about 75-80 lbs).  I was wondering if anyone had pics that they could a) email to me  or b) give me a link to

I really wanted some picsa of myself because i couldnt take any of myself.  Anouther hint at which wolfwood was me was that i was constantly around anywhere between 3-6 vashs at any given time.

Don't know if there's a list of the dealers that were at the con.  Does anyone know the name of the dealer who had dvds and manga and covered their table with a long plastic sheet?  I don't remember what aisle they were in, sorry.

Yeah, it is very time consuming to go through all the threads. So let's make a sticky that says "All Gatherings for 2007 Sign Up Here" or something. Then only the leader of each of their gatherings are allowed to sign up. Like I will reply in that thread saying :

Death Note Gathering 2007
Location: Blah
Time: Blah
Day: Blah

Then a mod can update the first post of that thread with the info provided. That way, it'll be easier than going through every single thread. Sorry if this idea was already proposed. X_X

This is an excellent idea!  And if the thread could be updated by the leaders up to at least Friday night (there weren't any gatherings on Friday, were there?  If so, then the updates could be done up to Thursday night) so anyone able to get onto the forum would have an updated list of gatherings.  I think BSaphire was able to update up to the 24th and appreciate the updated list.  Having copies of the list posted at BOTH con information desks would be great, too, then if there were any changes to the list that had to be made (hopefully none) maybe the leaders of the gatherings could update right at the tables.

Having the gathering lists at the info tables this year was really helpful...

Maybe it would be a good idea to get together with the people at Stage 0. I heard them make several announcements and it might be worth having them announce gatherings when they're going on and where.

I didn't see copies of the gatherings at the info tables ....  But having announcements at Stage Zero would be nice.  Maybe just before the half hour (if it's not interrupting whatever show/panel is on) say: The Eva gathering is at the fountains in 5 minutes.

Hey, maybe we could get the announcements also made in the dealers room?  Only I'd give it 10 minutes instead of 5 to give everyone a chance to get their shopping done and get out of the dealers room.

Dagnabbit.  Looks like my time at Fanime is going to be cut short.  I also would like to know when/what day/time the chess game will be played so I can plan accordingly (oooo sounds so grown up!). :wink:
