WHERE: The proposed event location is currently at the Tech Shop in Downtown San Jose - just a few blocks away from the convention center.
WHEN: Saturday, April 12th, from 11am-5pm
WHY: I want to create a dedicated space for cosplay-making that has ample room, where we can share tips and resources, and hopefully avoid any last-minute cosplay emergencies!
This event is free, however, TechShop will have dedicated staff to assist anyone who wants to use their machines (Vacforming, Laser cutter, 3D printer, etc), and there will be a fee (TBD) for using those.
Please bring your own materials if you can (and label them if you don't want them to get lost). Extra newspaper, tarps, thread, etc are super appreciated! Wear comfy clothes and ask before borrowing anything.
I'm open to questions and suggestions both here and on Facebook so fire away!

yeah big question and it's involving with paint..uhm...
what are the rulings for that?
it's pretty much the cosplay props making, as you can tell some uses power tools (like me) to cut the damn foam boards but then again i can always pre built them and have them painted or so.
I guess what i am asking is what will be available on the meet up O_O! I know power is one of the issues, the other is probably asking for help and assistance but i know everyone else is busy with their things as well..
I want to particate but i need to think about it...
I'm gonna have to check with the community center to see what's available/allowed!
I would personally say that anything that can be easily cleaned up and non-hazardous is fair game - the only other issue with power tools might be noise so I think it's a good idea to assess the noise level and if it will be bothersome to others.
If we decide to set up an outdoor station I'll see if there are outlets available for our use! I'll get back to you on that.
As far as the last point goes, I definitely want it to be an open environment where people can ask questions and provide help, but I can't really enforce that to be honest! I will definitely encourage it as much as I can, however!
I think this is a lovely idea and would love to join.
The community center was unavailable for that date - I'm currently checking to see if 4/12 is open. I will post any updates here and on Facebook.
