Hey I know this is like 3 years later, but are you still selling pokemon cards? Because me and a bunch of friends are so down to buy those cards.

I'm not selling them anymore, no. But I still have them, and I'm doing a Tumblr Giveaway for them starting on February 1st cause I got tired of trying to sell them. And I think I'm lost some? I cant find my Gyms or any of my gym leaders besides Sabrina. Which is weird....... but. Also some of the ones listed here are unavailable cause I want to keep a few for myself.

If you have a tumblr and wanna enter my URL is AxMuffins. :) You'd be getting my whole lot of pokemon cards if you win though. Unless you just have one or two cards you're interested in, then I can just send them to you w/e.

The current goal is to open up Registration for FanimeCon AND the hotels at the same time. It only makes sense (to us at least!).

(This isn't a promise, only what we're currently planning. As with everything else, one small, minor thing may prevent us from executing this plan!)

If that's the case, is there any tentative month that this would be happening?

For instance, I personally handle Fanime for all my friends (everyone goes into my reg group and I book all the rooms), and since Housing usually goes up Jan/Feb I told them I needed final commitments by the first week of January.

But if housing is expected to open sooner than January it might be a good thing to know so I can have a final head count by then so I can actually book enough rooms.

And of course, as you said, it's only the plan and not set in stone yet, but I figured I'd ask just to be as prepared as possible~

All I can hope is that in a few years when they grow it'll look less like a farm and more like, well, decorative plants.

You are aware that the hotel staff look at our forums every once in a while right? ;)

Not to mention that the original statement's a fallacy -- extra people not only cost the hotels extra, but can be a potential nightmare in a disaster situation.  Not that anyone's expecting the Big One to hit during Fanime or some equivalent, but room guidelines exist for a reason.  More people use up more utilities and supplies, generate more mess/waste, and mean more traffic in the hotel -- and if the hotel really wanted to and had cause, I believe they're within their rights to ascertain there are only the allowed number of people staying in a given room.

That said, it's pretty common knowledge that going over the room limit is hardly unusual when it comes to convention attendees -- if you're going to go over, just make sure everyone knows and is aware of what it implies (in terms of space, bedding, towels, etc.), and is okay with that.

The hotel will usually ask at check-in (or confirm, if you have it listed already -- I've changed my number within the max last minute because of circumstances and had no problem with it) how many people will be in the room.  IIRC the rule of thumb is two in a single-bed room and four in a double-bed room ... and I think suites still fall under the four-person cap, but you could always ask the hotel to be certain.

Room occupancy limits are also set by the FIRE CODE, and is determined by the number of BEDS. If you have one King bed and a roll away, you can have four people (Three can normally fit in a king, and one on the rollaway). If you have a double bed and a rollaway, you can only have three. Unless your couch is a sofabed, it is not considered a bed. Sofabeds, however, are queen-sized and can hold two people. So if you have a double bed and a sofabed, you can hold 4 people.

So yea, not only does packing your room with people use more utilities, it breaks Fire Code. The occupancy limit is there for your safety and for the liability of the Hotel. If you get trapped in your room during a fire or an emergency because you have people everywhere on your floors and whatever, the hotel can get in DEEP SHIT.

Normally if you can get there in the early evening (between 4 and 7 pm) on Thursday then you should get a parking space, just DONT USE your in and out privileges. Once you park your car, don't move it.

If you have an over-sized vehicle (last year I had to drive my 7' truck to the con and none of the hotels have a 7' garage), you can try and work it out with one of the out-door lots where you can run over in the morning and pay for another day in their lot instead of having to leave and find new parking. It's sort of a hassle and probably costs more (we paid $15 a day) in the long run, but at least we were able to park and didn't have to worry about the car post-morning.

Was there any specific reason why all of your available suites were put on the website this year? I noticed almost immediately that they were selling out first for for friday-saturday, or saturday-sunday, and I'm assuming from experience that people only do this to hold parties in rooms big enough to actually have people in them. No one going for ONE NIGHT needs a suite to sleep in.

It's incredibly frustrating to actually NEED a suite to fit your group for the whole weekend, and essentially get cockblocked at every angle by people who just want to have a party. Some people actually need to have this space to sleep comfortably at night.

Last year all your suites were by phone/email reservation only, which was much nicer for those of us who have larger groups of people staying with them. Do you know why wasn't it like that this year, too?

I'm sorry that you're unable to get the room type that you wanted.

I'm kind of confused by your request. It doesn't do our members any good if we have room types available that aren't on the website. It caused a bit of confusion when some of the room types don't show up on the website so we made sure to list all of the rooms on the website.

If you are looking to be in a suite for the weekend, there are two options: 1) Call CMR to be added to the waiting list for the suite that you are looking to book or 2) get multiple hotel rooms and ask for them to be connecting rooms.

That answered my question; It causes confusion, so now you have them all listed. :) Thanks~

When I made my reservations on the 6th the person who handled them told me to reply to the confirmation email of the room I wanted to trade in for a suite with the certain specifications and whatnot, but they never got back to me. I sent them another email today asking if they'd received it (since numerous people have said they were waitlisted within 24 hours), but I might just call them tomorrow to make sure I was put on a waitlist. :/ Though I'm sort of doubting I was. oh well...

I believe this maximum occupancy only applies to regular hotel rooms. I think for suites the maximum occupancy is more like six? (I've never gotten a suite, so don't quote me on this. I'm only estimating based on what I think I remember from past forums. :P)

Maximum occupancy usually goes with the amount of beds, despite it being a suite or not. A Junior Suite at the Marriott can only "occupy" four, as it only has a king bed and a couch bed.

You can technically fit three average-sized people in a king if you like being close, but it's not encouraged to stuff your rooms and have people sleep on the floor and such, for Fire-safety reasons.

Damn, really? D: Not even the smaller suites, like the Hospitality? :(

The Junior Suite at the Marriott was $154 a night. We stayed Thursday - Monday and paid $703 after tax. There was an Incidentals charge of $100 that was removed post-con, as per usual.

Credit Cards have an Incidentals charge of $100, while Debit Cards have an Incidentals charge of $800. It has to do with liability.

I would also be highly interested if any of the suites in the Hilton are going to be available, if there is a way to possibly find out in advance of the hotel registration goes up.

Same for the Hilton. I have a very large group of people coming with me this year, and it's way more expensive to book 3 or 4 rooms than to book a suite and a double.

I have friends who stay at the Ramada every year, and I discovered last year the that Ramada is located across the street from a night club/bar.

Just fair warning to those of you staying there, you might encounter some things on your way back to the hotel. I walked my friend back last year and we ran across the street to avoid a bar fight on the sidewalk. That's not to say YOU will, but I'd just be prepared.

Otherwise, from what I understand it's generally worth it to stay there. The walk isn't too bad and the facilities are decent. :)

Sound Tracks

1) Totally Pokemon!

The case is a little worse for wear. Some left over residue from the seals are still remaining, and there's two small cracks in the front top corner. The CD has been tested and is in perfect working order. It has 19 tracks. $7 including shipping.


2) Sailor Moon: The Full Moon Collection

HARD TO FIND. While I do not have the original casing anymore (I got this when I was probably 11 and promptly destroyed the case), I can assure you that it's quite legit. It will be sent in the purple replacement case in the pictures. The disc is slightly scratched up, but the CD has been tested and all the music plays properly. It has 21 tracks. $20 including shipping.

Thank you for clearing that up. Now I know what to work out with my brother and my friend. :]


I did pay in cash, but I showed my highschool ID card. Which, as I understand clearly at this point, is NOT something you should be able to use as a valid form of ID. My brother was 'accompanying' me then, but he was off somewhere while I was paying for my badge. So, I guess some things were a little off last year, huh? xD

I don't remember where or how my brother heard about using his hotel ID as a badge; he probably misunderstood when and how it can be used. Good thing for him to know now, and not later. Don't want to get into any messes. ;P

Ahh. Alright. So it won't matter if I'M the group leader, as long as I have valid gov. ID and my brother by my side, then?



On the side note, we now understand all these rules, and we completely agree to why they are in place. :] Legalities are one of the most important things when it comes to something of this nature.
