I'm currently trying to apply for a (temporary) seller's permit, and I can't complete it without some information.
What is a phone number I can put down for the event/building?
What is the space rental cost going to be?

Also, if I am signing up for a swap meet spot and want to share the spot with a friend, if their name is also on the permit along with mine will we only need the one permit for the both of us? Or will we each need separate seller's permits?

Edit: What NAICS code do we use for the permit application? Does this count as Retail?

K all, it's holding steady, so I'm going to bed zzzz

Gnight! e-mail me if you have questions.

Marisa

Thank you for all of your hard work, Marisa!! I appreciate all of this effort, and the masquerade is always smoothly run and so much fun!
Our group is all signed up and ready to go.... time for rehearsals! Cannot wait!

Oh, I did have a question, though. My group was thinking of using a few chairs in our skit. If I remember correctly, there are some available that we could use, right? If so, if we made a generic chair cover (just so that the chairs weren't distracting), would they be able to be used on said chairs? Would stage ninjas be able to set the chairs up with them on?
Sorry for the complex question~

Thanks again!

>Sees Asian Pop on schedule every night

YESSS! You don't know how happy I am to see that. Now all of my groups' kpop outfits will actually have a purpose!

I am officially pumped for Fanime!

The one and only reason my friend and I even went to the dances was because we saw 'Asian Pop' in the schedule, and we assumed that included k-pop. We had a BLAST dancing the night away to k-pop/asian-pop, and even the songs we weren't familiar with were still fun! It's very disappointing to hear that k-pop hasn't done so well overall at Fanime's dances, but I would definitely suggest bringing it back for 2012! Other than my friend and I, our whole group of friends was not at all into k-pop/j-pop, BUT after dragging them to the k-pop panel/musicfest/hearing all of the k-pop during the Masquerade- they're all hooked! (I don't know if there's a huge difference between the type of people that go to the dances and the ones that go watch the Masquerade, but SO many skits had k-pop this year and the crowd would go nuts every time!) K-pop/asian-pop is expanding more now than ever before, especially with so many artists doing the openings/endings for anime. Also, pretty much every k-pop group nowadays promotes in Japan, as well, so k-pop and j-pop are very much intertwined. Hopefully Asian pop gets another chance!!

Oh, also, I really loved the idea of the different dance rooms. However, I feel that the Hilton room could have been advertised/announced more clearly. It seems like most people are familiar with the main ballroom, so maybe posting up some signs there letting people know of the alternate rooms? (My friend and I asked the staff at the ballroom about any other rooms and they told us that they didn't even know there were other rooms.... -_-';; )

I'd like to know where it would be first before the date.
I'm hoping for the Performing Arts Center (2007) across the street instead of the Civic Center (2008)

As of right now, Masquerade will be at the Civic Center. The CPA is currently booked for that weekend in 2009.

Whew. Okay.
As much as I love the comfortable and fancy PAC, the convenience of the Civic Center just cant be beat.

Okay, since it's so late I just came up with a crazy idea.

It started off as, 'It would be so much fun to make a short video interviewing cosplayers at Fanime! [like Eerie, Kwoon, etc.]'
then 'What if I could post it that night of the con so people could watch the interviews throughout the weekend?'
which lead to... 'What if someone went on blogtv.com and did a live stream right from the convention!!'

and I think that would be so much fun! Have a group of people interview cosplayers, check out events, see what's going on at the con, and stream it live on the internet, so that people who couldn't make it/want to see what's going on/are bored in line can check it out.
And maybe during certain times some highlight moments can be recorded and then shown on Stage Zero for people to see!

Eh? Eh? =D

Does this seem like a good idea or am I just speaking nonsense? xD

As Fanime gets ever so much closer I know that a lot of you (like me) have TONS of stuff to work on cosplay-wise! So what are you guys working on? Do you have everything you need? Will you be able to finish in time?

I'm taking 6 costumes, two of which are completely done, two are about 80% done, one is my masquerade costume (which is no where NEAR being done... lolol), and one I barely started xD';.
I also have to style a complicated wig for my friend and help my other friend make her masquerade costume... ^^';

ahhhhhhh~

I'll be going as KH2 Riku again. *slightly heartless, if you know what I mean* With a remade and revamped costume. Looks awesome.

Looking forward to it, but it says on the gatherings listing page that the gathering is scheduled for 5pm instead of 4 pm. I can do 4, but my group and I are performing in the masq again this year and the mandatory meeting is at 5pm at the civic. So, if someone could clarify, I'd love to join up with you guys before the masq.

Yeah, my friends and I are in the masq., too, so I was also wondering if it could be at 4. ^^;

I'll be there as Fairy Rikku from KH2, and my friends will be Fairy Yuna and Fairy Paine =D
#10
I think my other friend is comming as Namine so you can add her =D

I just started working on my Rikku costume! Yay, I'm so excited<3

I'm going to be making either a Wailord, Victrybell or Gyrados gijinka cosplay, and my friends will be going as Marill, Milotic, Clafairy, and Pokemon Trainer from Brawl. =D
#12
....So Sunday at 10a.m.? Okay!
I'll be there as Dizzy, and my friends will be there as Faust, Millia, and Jam =D
#13
I'll be there as manga!Karin =D
#14
I'm gonna be going as Rikku, while my friends are gonna be dressed as Yuna, Paine and SchoolGirl!Kairi :D
#15
Hm, I dunno if I'll be able to make it on Saturday, but I'll try to be there!
I'll be dressed as Gym Leader Candice from Pokemon Daimond :3
#16
Omg, if this gathering doesn't conflict with anything else, I'll totally wear my Cooking Mama costume! :D
Or if not then a Pokemon costume :3
#17
Let's see, I'll be wearing Renge from OHSHC, SnJ Rock Lee from Naruto, Seung Mina from Soul Calibur, Tiger Lily from Peter Pan, my masq. csotume, my Superman themed dress, and Starfire from Teen Titans, so 7 costumes I think =D

^awww :/

So, I think we have a Shino now, but we still need an Asuma. And basically all you'd have to do is run onstage, mouth a line, and run off. :3
Anyone interested?
#19
Hay guys~!

Right now my friends and I are in need of a Shino and an Asuma for the fanime masquerade. The skit will involve some simple choreography, as well as some lip-synching but it'll be really easy and we'll have rehearsals at the con (when it's convenient for everyone)

If interested or want more info, just let me know! Thanks!

So, since this is exhibition only, can you do a special performance with a performing group, and then do a completely unrelated skit with other people? Or is it just either or?
Right now some friends and I are planning a skit for Fanime, but two of us in the skit are also in a clarinet choir thing and right now we're doing a Final Fantasy IX peice (only a few minutes, don't know exact time) and it would be cool to perform it at Fanime :3.
