Thank you registration staff for working super hard. We had it pretty insane the first few days this year and I'm proud to say the people down in registration pushed through. Always a pleasure working with them.

And a shoutout to Rovers manning the lines for at-con registration. The Rovers were definitely an integral part and helped out tons, kudos to you all.

Just wanted to say a few things since I actually helped out in Pre-reg pickup today.

Things were definitely a little out of hand today but if a staffer was rude to you, you definitely need to let a Lead or Department head know. We're all volunteers and fans, too, so treating everyone with respect should have been the norm. Thursday is the where we are most understaffed and long lines/pressure builds, but we all need to stay cool, be they staff or fans.

I think I remember your situation (1 pre-reg and 2 early) and trust me when I say that we had about 5 staffers hunting down your badge with no luck. If we gave you the impression that we weren't trying, I apologize for that. The staffer assisting you should have politely explained the situation back to you that we tried, were unable to find it, and would print you a replacement paper badge. Because the special laminate badges are printed in advance, we can only give you a paper badge at the con.

NOTE: A paper badge in place of a pre-reg badge is NOT the same as an Early reg badge. It still carries the full weekend admission and you still are getting the locked in discounted price. An Early Reg badge, officially, carries a higher price than a Pre-reg badge and does not avail you a special laminate badge. If we were unable to locate your laminate badge (among the thousands we had prepared), we are TRULY sorry for it.

Registration hit a few snags and bumps the first hour or so, but after that, we worked really hard to provide everyone with a fast and efficient service in picking up their badge. We were supposed to close at 8pm and officially didn't finish until 9:30-10pm.

I did the same and am now waiting for a reply.

Yeah, these last couple days, I've been feeling kinda down and empty. I just realized it's PCD. Fanime is the place where I see some of my friends only once a year because of school. Had a blast hanging out with them. I'm sad because I came late on Monday and the dealers room was closed, didn't get to make one last run!

I stayed at the Marriott this year, as I did last year. Valet parking was great, half price with in and out priviledges was great. The guys running it were pretty cool, nice people. Seeing as how my cousin was fronting the bill, I had full access to all the services like internet and room service. The elevators were as bad as last year, but that's not their fault, more like insane con-goers. They let me check in early at around noon and I got a room on the 9th floor. Wish I could have gotten a lower floor, so as to avoid the elevator waits. Overall, the Marriott was as good as last year. I'll probably be staying with them again next year.

I regged at con also. Did it Sunday evening when the guy in the artist alley announced it. Haha, the line was like, deserted when I showed up.

Cool. I was in the Tekken Tourney two years ago. Couldn't take part in last years, but I'd like to play again this year. Can't wait.

Like the last couple of years, I'll be staying at the San Jose Marriott that's connected to the convention center.

Registration / Re: Anyone already set?

Yeah, I've been set. I pre-regged for 2008 at Fanime 2007, so I was ready before the 07 con was over.

Hotel and Facilities / Marriott fanime 07.

I stay at the Marriott for Fanime07. It was just like the year before, perfectly fine. They let us check in at 11am and had our room ready at the 4th floor, which was cool cause we could take the stairs instead of the elevator if needed. I had my best friend with me and two girls. Being two guys, we were fine with the bathroom having no locks. For the girls, it was a different story. We basically put up a sign that if the door was closed, don't open it. And we had to have someone guard the room just in case whenever the girls were inside. It's interesting to see how the girls can be so understanding, and then turn on us because we're guys and the bathroom doors aren't lockable. That's something to keep in mind if you're gonna have opposite sexes in one room.

The discount for the parking was a nice bonus, too. The front lobby kept our things for us when we checked out. I had a big scroll sticking out of one of my bags and it came back perfectly fine. I'll definitely be staying with the Marriott again next year. Maybe I'll even bump up to a suite, since I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Definitely more wallscrolls. I only saw two dealers have wall scrolls this year.

Oh my gosh, I just realized. I forgot to tip the valet. Crap. I feel pretty bad now, cause I was all prepared to tip him. He was really cool, too. Oy.

I stayed at the marriott in a double. It was the same as last year, and I got a corner room so we had a short hall way at the door which reduced noise from trailing into the room. Staff was very nice, although it took them almost 2 hours to get us some extra towels late night. Valet parking was cool, too, and the discount fanime got made it worth valet. Will definitely stay with them next year.

Registration / Registration feedback for 2007
May 29, 2007, 01:27:57 PM
Pre-reg pickup was longer than I expected on Thursday. A friend and I waited for 1.5 hours. And it only took them 2 minutes to get us our badges. Kinda made me think I should have just gone early on Friday like I did the last couple of years, since I got in and got my badge in like, less than 20-30 minutes.

I went to the pre-reg badge early pickup today. WOW. The line was freakin long. It started at 5pm, and Me and My friend got there at 7pm. Tons of people. We stood in line for almost an hour and a half. Crazy.

Wow, this is freakin early. 07 Fanime hasn't even passed yet! haha.

Next year:
-Hitsugaya Toushirou from bleach, cause I ran out of money and time for it this year.

Due to poor time management and being poor monetary wise, I'm gonna have to withdraw my hitsugaya cosplay. maybe next year.

Yahoo! Finals are over for me! Now I need to finish fixing my pants for my cosplay. Can't wait for Fanime! AHH!!!
