I'm looking to share a room with other females.
I'll be 38 & I'm a female.
My hotel costs me $900 for 2015.
I'd like to save that $ for Con

If your friend is listed on the room, just ID and his/her CC will be accepted to check in.

Do paid online (after may 1st) attendees get plastic/design badges?

I'm also added to an existing group (from 1st database).

As a footnote:  they need to check their prices and links before going live (huge issue last year)

http://www.sanjose.org/content/downtown-san-jose-parking-and-maps <--- These should apply if Fanime doesn't degotiate any deals. But I think they do negotiate a lower rate, but I don't remember what it is.

*bump*
Now that Staff is onsite, I am hoping something can be lowered...a speculative $10-12 thur-mon would be nice again.

Everyone should take note of the shuttle service:

Related to #5 (and part of Hotel/Facilities), are we lucky to get Convention Center "Special Event" parking at $10-12 in the past? And what days? (staff confirm please)

So the walk is from the Hilton to the Fairmont.

Hilton-Marriott, walk the safe concourse inside, exit Marriott entrance
Marriott-St. claire, keep in eyesight and lighting of the parking staff
Path from hotels-Fairmont, walk alongside the street parked cars to see and avoid people in the dark, keep alert for the duration of a few walking minutes
You've reached the brightly lit open area Fairmont/restaurant area with hotel staff and low floor rooms within earshout.

As always coverup/dress mundane if u can, hold cell in hand, and be within help if people are heading the same direction, don't appear vulnerable.

Now I am glad I got the $91 room because the other one was sold out =3

Sold out?  Wow, that many got scre...umm..affected.

Update:  CMRhousing won't give those the $91 price.

#1 King w/rollaway $79 staff price
#2 King no rollaway $91 attendee price
#3 King w/rollaway $124 changed price (offered only because of mistake)
#4 Double no rollaway $124 attendee price

Can't get #1, so converted to #3 at #4 rate, but will settle on #2.

Um yah...I room alone and just want the lowest attendee price.  Easy logic would say this is an easy compromised fix.  Pay slightly more, forgo rollaway for someone who needs it. I'll see.

@Lucifargundam- #1 was offered in error to attendees, 2 hours later a revised confirmation states $124.  Some like me are in a pickle if they were aiming for a low rate.

Hotel and Facilities / Marriott $79 Price actually $124
January 24, 2013, 03:15:28 PM
QuoteThere was a technical error that occurred on our website today with one of the room types at the San Jose Marriott. The room category: King Bedded Room with Guaranteed Rollaway Bed, was reflecting the pricing for staff, not attendees. The correct room rate per night for attendees is $124.00 plus tax, not $79.00 plus tax as previously confirmed. At this time, we will not change your room type but will change the rate in your reservation to $124.00 plus tax. If you wish to change to a different room type at a lower cost, we will be happy to move you as availability allows, or with priority on the waiting list.

At Noon, I darted toward Marriott and the cheapest price.  $79 Great!  Only to get a technical error email 2 hours later more or less stating mistake and I need to pay more.

If I had know this I would have picked the now sold out $91 option (the actual lowest price).  So now this becomes a $100 mistake. I'm on the waitlist (2 hours later).  This is so wrong...

If you clicked the Reserve Hotel button on the front page it led to Fanime 2012 Housing.  My friend suffered the same fate.

edit: they just sorta fixed the link now.  Any consolation for those scratching their heads around noon?

I've always believed a con theme lives and dies by the amount of awareness and participation going on.

"Why do you have a giant tennis ball?"
"...Uh, do you know what the theme is this year?"
"Really...?"

Getting some of the 20,000+ in on any type of theme challenge makes it a success in my book.

Title says it all.  Wanna know if they are easy to remove, fit in ones keepsake holders, hide during photos, can take a con beating, etc...

Dealers Room / Official Fanime T-Shirts
May 19, 2012, 03:46:57 PM
I have been collecting the shirts each and every attendance.  Great designs, quality material!  I have accepted the gradual price increases and addition of  taxes each subsequent year.  But I will stop my string of purchase if it's a repeat of last year. (besides black) One color...yellow?!  For those that paid for it, wasn't it a bit disappointing compared to previous years.

Do we have the price and (kool) 2012 design?  Just please make it more colorful and theme "sporty".  Throw in colored cotton Tee besides white and I'm sold again.

P! out.
