Title: Suggestions for Video Programming 2011
Post by: marisuga on August 12, 2010, 02:15:54 PM
Hetalia Axis Powers. It wasn't there last year and I was very sad D:

Each episode is only around 5 minutes so the whole first season only takes about 4 hours to air (not that the whole series would need to be aired but still)

I don't have any problems with the dub, but I have a feeling there might be some complaints if it was used so probably the subs would be better.

And yeah. That's my suggestion!

CatShitOne ~ This was cut off to the U.S. shortly after the DvD released. However you can still watch it on youtube!

Chi Sweet Home ~ This is good to learn basic japanese! Each episode is under 3 minutes long!!!

Yuikume Merry ~ Has an interesting concepts of Dreams. (Rememinds me of Inception in some ways.)

Genius Party Beyond ~ Haven't seen it, but WANT to see it. Watched an AMV of it and it was GREAT!!! It's called " Norstrom - Binary Overdrive"

I don't see anime hell on the list.  I hope that's an omission as over the past few years it has become one of my favorite video events at fanime.

Can you please, please, please show some fansubs of Michiko to Hatchin. That anime has not gotten enough love and it deserves more. It's one of the best series people have not seen and it has amazing pedigree behind it. It really does need more attention.

"Arby n the Chief" would be another good web show to see with an audience.

here's a short episode that sums up what the series is about.

My Requests/Suggestions

(Japanese with English subtitles is preferred whenever possible for these videos)

Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva
Phoenix Wright Takarazuka Musicals 1 & 2
Yu-Gi-Oh! 1st Season (the one unaired in US)
Sailor Moon SuperS Movie
Sailor Moon (any season)
Space Battleship Yamato
Godzilla, Minilla, Gabara: All Monsters on Parade (known in English as "All Monsters Attack")
Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror
Welcome to the Space Show

Also, I think it would be pretty fun to have a Kaiju/Giant Monster Movie marathon room :D

In addition, I support the previous suggestions of the Miku Live Giving Day Concert (if possible, the Live In Tokyo Concert would be fun to see too), Summer Wars, and Shinryaku! Ika Musume.

This has probably been suggested already but I wanted to add Puella Magi Madoka Magica / Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica since I don't think I suggested it earlier :3

I would also love to see Madoka on the list. Maybe there could be a "deconstructed anime" theme night or theme room or something.

Big Robots = Evangelion
Magical Girls = Madoka

etc

It might be impossible since I've yet to come across an English-subbed version in my limited search ...but I thought it'd be a fantastic idea to have the Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) live action musical, considering our musical GoH stars in it. I think there'd be quite an audience interested in it. I don't even think it'd be that terrible to play the official DVD without having a translation.

Nice pick! That anime was great, yet not many people know about it.
Besides that I'd have to throw in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan. Or anything to get us "Amped".

The entire "Full Life Consequences" series would probably go over really well!  (I'd hope!)  Nothing beats the antics of John Freeman; Gordon Freeman's brother.

And a great big second for DBZ Abridged.  Seeing that with a massive group of people would be... nothing short of awesome.
