hmmm...center, like the person in the middle of the formation? dunno, having a strange time visualizing this. o_<
Dress center dress (or hut it it's an American mace or military DM) = look to the center person and align up with them.
Ready Front (or hut for A.M/Mil) look forward.
I have been looking for a decent example on youtube but have yet to find one.
Note: I teach drum line so we use squad ready set (or dress center)
Example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpJ-0vrQ4-M
note: that's also one of the two lines i teach ^_^

+ kids that say they are "I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEAN?!" uhhh if you live with your parents, eat your parents' food, have your parents pay for your bills, & don't have a job etc etc then no lol you're not independent sry. :D and i'm really not ragging on anyone that still does this, i mean my parents live halfway across the country, they don't pay for any of my necessities (car, rent, food, insurance, phone bill, school etc.) but i still enjoy the fact they're paying for my plane ticket for my birthday... harr
/tl;dr
Well, er, independence can describe several things for a person. A teenager living under their parents' household can still be described as independent as a personality trait, as in, capable of taking care of themselves and their own business to the extent that they're able to, but they wouldn't be legally independent.
