thanks for the heads up c;
Well i go to school all of 2 blocks away and the weather has been saying rain and only been doing it at later in the day. But in case they DO get it right for once people need to know. Don't need girls in cosplays and wet weather Even if it may be some pedobears dream lol (is their a animal for that? lol) I also posted this in the gathering section don't want a wet gathering
Weather forecast THAT far ahead is almost never accurate. I wouldn't bank on that.

Ill update this post closer to the event but its fairy sure the Temperature will be correct.
There was one year that I went, where the forecast was scheduled to rain for most of the con. We had 4 beautiful sunny days. I'm going to hope the same happens here since I hate the rain.
diddo, i don't wanna be walking to the con in my school girl uniform and getted rained on :x lets hope for happy weather this year
This year might be the first Fanime since 2000 to have rain in the forecast. If it does rain, I hope it isn't a storm.
22.8C? That's not cold.
It's more then double the current temp here.

Didn't it rain last year on the morning of Day Zero?
I remember waking up, in San Francisco, to a thunderstorm and while on my way to San Jose noticed rain in the south bay too.

Well, I would rather have heat than the horrible weather that San Jose has been having recently.
Last week it was quite warm and now its raining, windy, and cold.
I think there have been sprinkles in more recent years than 2000, or at least the threat of sprinkles. :/ (Since my first year was 2003 and I seem to remember sprinkles at some point!)
Well, I hope it doesn't rain on Friday, but I'm all for cooler weather on Sunday, since last year I got a nasty sunburn and think I got heatsick, haha. I love th heat, but not if I'm going to be outside in it for a few hours with little shade or water~
^^ I meant heavy downpours (in 2000, Fanime was in Feburary), light sprinkies are really nothing
I honestly like cloudy and cold weather, especially for something like Fanime because it's (a little) harder to get heat exhaustion and the sun doesn't get in my eyes. It would suck for big event lines and cosplay gatherings if it were to rain.
Bay area weather... Sometimes, it's random. :P

and i feel like the only one who would be down for rain (y);; oh well xD;;
I hope it warms up. Last year was absolutely miserable. I was FREEZING.
Considering that the costume I plan to wear on Friday, I can't say I mind news of cool weather too much. Rain would be unfortunate, though, and I do sympathize with people in lighter outfits. Ideally, winds will shift to prove a lovely compromise of 75-degree weather with a cheery sun; still, keeping an eye on the weather seems wise.

Its the same in Modesto, Sunday morning was hot then it got cold, then Monday was warm and now its raining and windy. Hope it all evens out by Fanime though.
I love thunderstorms, so I wouldn't complain if we got one.
However, wtf at flying from eastern Canada to California only to be colder there than I am here XD

Well, I was worried about burning up in one of my cosplays, but now I think i'll just be warm. And in my other cosplays... well, I hope I don't freeze to death. (Though, I was stupid enough to go to AOD this year during a big rainstorm in my Ulala cosplay... that was fun! ::) )

Yeah, we're planning to have a forecast weather news post next week (Tuesday, maybe?) as a reminder to everyone.
Last year rain was also forecasted for Friday and Saturday in the 10-day :/ yet, nothing.
I wouldn't start worrying about it until next week, when the forecast will be more accurate.
all the times i attended Fanime(since 08) it always said rain of some sorts only ONCE have i seen minor sprinkling but it went away its mostly always sunny
I'm hoping it doesn't rain, I'm sure a lot of us would be miserable waiting in line for MusicFest :(
I love the rain...
Just not on Fanime weekend. Here's to hoping it won't rain.

Na all the people will be so pushed together the umbrellas will act as an roof.
The weather is incredibly random in California to a point of annoyance,
It was raining dogs yesterday but today was really warm and sunny.
adn today 70ish windy
*looks outside* I don't think weather will be an issue anymore. In fact, it may even be a warming trend (not actually a 'heat wave' but close).
You guys are complaining about Cali weather? My god... come to Boston or any New England area. The weather here is beyond crap. Like it mists. Ever heard of misting? It's like half assed rain which is more annoying than anything.
where i'm from -california wise- was always heavy mist too c; not just the east coast lol
I'm really hoping for that warm weather. I'd hate to walk outside the convention center while being poured on.
I want some scorched earth on my Fanime weekend!
I personally love cloudy overcast days that are warm with little to no wind
EXCELLENCE
I think other than the rain, the cool temps would be optimal for cosplayers (minus photography)

Glad to hear the weather's not so hot. Lugging a heavy backpack around crowds in the heat is not exactly something I'm looking forward to.

10 Day forecast from Weather Channel shows promise, with precipitation chances very low for the weekend. Sunny, high 60's during the day, low 50's at night.
Suggestion from a lowly native to those travelling from other places: bring layers. The winds are a bit gusty of late, so the temps are nice, but the breezes can be a doozy. :)

Has it been windy up there too? I'm down the coast several hours away and we've been getting some crazy winds lately (especially after sunset), but didn't know if being further inland made a difference for SJ. Good to know!
(The forecast makes me 99% happy; I may actually be comfortable in most of my stuff! Just need to find
something warmer to wear over my Ball outfit. XD )

They dont normaly tell the wind till later but that area tends to be a protected zone not alot of wind gets in there from what ive seen.
But it might rain wensday XD
I'm so sad about the freezing cold temperatures this Fanime. =( I was hoping so hard it would be 78 or above.
It's really windy right now, here in the north bay.
Bad for my hair that takes 2 hours to style. ;)

Pretty much! I'm a little south of SFO (bay side, not ocean side), and the winds have definitely picked up late afternoon/evening. SJ during the day (where I work) seems less so, but I generally think 15 MPH+ is at least enough to get a kite in the air (or tangle a wig or billow a dress, etc).
so hows the weather looking

Just re-checked the Weather Channel link I posted up and there is one change that was made.
Saturday shows a little "WINDY" icon, and the wind speeds (you have to change a toggle box to get wind speed) is noting 20 MPH.
Thank goodness my wig is a ponytail, but I may have to tie it twice if I go outside XD
