I LOVE Ranma 1/2 infact for this con i am goign as Ranma to con one of the days others kenshin, Ranma, edward elric, kurama. I hope to complete Kenshin and kurama but rite now i am working on edward elric and am done w/ Ranma-san ^_^ talk about ranma here. or about who u r going as?
when me and my mate eventually have money to spare we will go to an anime convention although deciding which one to go to will be tough as there is so many to choose, I intend to go as Ranma I ham even growing my hair in preparation for the pigtail hairstyle although I am undecided whether I would go as the male or female form of Ranma I'll probably know nearer the time as for my mate he wants to go as either Ryoga or Kuno although if he ends going as Kuno I will probably hit him harder then I should as i despise Kuno in the anime and manga of Ranma lol where even planning on re-enacting a scene from Ranma when we go to a ani-con although where not sure what scene would be best to do I'm thinking along the lines of one with Kuno, Ryoga and Ranma in it although we will have to find another Ranma fan or convert someone to it anywho I am a big Ranma fan and so is my mate give us a shout on MSN if you want or Yahoo

Ooh, PLEASE try to get your friend to come as Kuno; I would've gone as him but my budget and resources didn't allow for that... plus it'd be fun to have someone to re-enact with!

I should have made this clearer but I am a fella and don't have a boyfriend nor do I intend to I dont swing that way lol not that I am against anyone who does neither do I have a girlfriend yet at the moment. its just my mate suggesting I go as the female Ranma I am thinking more along the line of male Ranma though unless someone else does then it means it'll look odd having two male Ranma's so it all depends I suppose, as far as meeting up is concerned I would have liked that but chances are I wont get sufficient money for this years convention probably next years though as Ive only turned 16 and need to save up money first so Im sorry to dissapoint you if I have but you will probably see me next year and my mate however if you want to keep in contact with me off this forum my e-mail address is

yeah thats actually prob true when we kinda met up last year there were quit a few im going as my 3ed year as ranma + edward elric later (but i didn't say thAT XD)
we all make mistakes so no problem besides the gender is not shown under the peoples names so how are you meant to know whether I was male or female although if jusenkyo existed *starts thinking like I've never thought before* lol if only never mind though needless to say your list is quite right so no alterations are needed

did the Ranma anime end like the manga or was it different as I have only got up to season 5 on Ranma anime but have read all the Mangas if someone could answer it would be much appreciated
I could be wrong but I don't think they've quite finished translating the manga

The manga series in Japan ended with what we know as volume 35. The anime lasted... six seasons, I think? (In either case, viewing the entire series actually DOES bring a CONCLUSIVE ending, in case of debate over if it "really ended".)
In regards to Cosplay, it seems that four Ranma Saotomes are appearing. That means that the picture opportunities increase, as well as the possibilities to "compete" as to which one is "real" (just kidding). Consider how many people go as Naruto, or Sailor Moon, or even FMA characters. Doesn't confuse them a bit. They just have more interesting pictures, cosplays, skits... whatever they're doing.
Any Ranmas entering the DDR Cosplay Perfect Attack Tournament, however, will have to face the fury of Martial Arts DDRing! :lol:
there is actually seven series of the anime that much I do know regarding the costumes Ive got another question who of you going as Ranma actually has the hair suited for the trademark pigtail hairstyle or are you gonna wear a wig not really bothered but Im curious as to who has the hair suited to the Ranma hairstyle

Hm... it seems that in the previous "Roll Call", someone lumped all the Ranmas together. Maybe if it were sorted by Kun and Chan (Male and Female), it would stop some confusion.
...or is ANYONE going as Ranma Chan? (Unfortunately, it's difficult enough to go as Kun as it is... I've yet to test the whole costume... but I'm under the Kun list.)
id consider going as Ranma chan but wouldnt be bothered id either go as Kun or Chan but it would be easy to pull off chan as its only a case of doing my hair red which doesnt bother me besides fellas dress up as sailor moon so im sure ill get away as ranma chan lol

hey no offense but does it matter if i went as female Ranma or not its the character i like so fair enough noones saying you have to but I would I am quite offended actually at the end of the day I dont make a point of going around as a female through everyday life and anime cons are there so you can go as who you like without getting judged and to have a laugh at the end of the as I have said fellas go as sailor moon and the likes which isnt exactly my cup of tea but I respect the courage they have so at the end of the day sorry if I have offended you in anyway but its what id do so please dont bust my balls over it

sorry.....I'm just used to guys cosplaying only as guys....girls on the other hand I've seen do both on a somewhat regular basis....
I believe there's a thread devoted to what you find irregular, Kyle. Look for "Crossdressing Cosplayers" in this very forum. You'll find both sexes going both ways.

seeing as I dont live in the US i can hardly ask my mum to book me in the marriot hotel and I dont have any friends 19+ who like anime Im only 16 and so is my mate so it looks like I will have to wait for 2 years first which is annoying I was planning at staying at the Marriot Hotel but there age policy is ridiculous so I shall not be gracing my presence at the Fanimecon even if I had the money for it by the looks of things

Uh, there ARE some hotels around Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz, from which San Jose is just a bus drive away. There's a Hilton in Scotts Valley (Along with one other Inn, but it's rather iffy.), as well as a MULTITUDE of hotels in Santa Cruz... WITHIN ONE MILE OF THE OCEAN, and Boardwalk. Very nice hotels, some very cheap ones too.
I'm sure one of those would work for you, and the Bus system is JUUUST easy enough to get the hang of. And I'm sure ONE of the hotels nearby has no such age policy. We sixteen year olds have to sleep somewhere, ne? ('Course, I live in Scotts Valley, so I have little CHOICE other than the bus.)

yep they probably would but you have one advantage I dont your journey only involves a bus ride I have to get a plane from the UK which wouldn't be cheap then Id have to try and find the hotels and learn the bus system there I dont particulary no my way round the states I can barely get around my home town of Liverpool so I shudder to think how lost Id get trying to find the bus station there lol although not as badly as Ryouga even I aint that bad

Chances are, you'll be not too far from San Jose Airport ("SJC"). From there it's a simple ride down to the Convention hall, from which there are bus times posted at the bus stop. From there, take DASH (Downtown Area Shuttle), Route 804 by Light Rail, to the Diridion Station, which is the portal for all buses, including the Highway 17 Express. THAT will take you to Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz, and back to San Jose.

Maybe next year, I could have a script written, I'll know you all well enough, I'll have some better time-flexibility to practice with you guys, I'll have some better remixes of the original tunes, and I'll know what it takes to actually DO a masq skit.
I know you're trying to help zoupzuop, but if I remember correctly the highway 17 bus does NOT run on weakends or holidays such as memorial day (the weekend of the convention). as far as where the plane would come in, my bets are on the plain landing in SFO, the only flights that San Jose supports that go international are to Canada, Mexico and resently it was opened up for flights to China....as far as the planes coming from the UK, unless he's gona make some kind of transfer (somewhere near denver as far as north/south) it will land in San Fransisco

My "Under $5" costume has become an "Under $10" costume! I just went down to the new Goodwill in town and got me a nice red shirt... all I have to do is remove the pocket, get the weird button-thingies, get a white undershirt and roll up the sleeves...
...and I'll have pictures as soon as I can. :)

Jerome Russell's "Natural Color Highlights"
It's temporary (sprays on, washes off), and can cover your entire head using less than half the can. It should have a picture of a VERY white girl on it, where the color lies solely in the hair and the lips. It's a little under $5.
I didn't use it as well in my current pictures as I have before. Maybe I need to get another can before Fanime...
my solution is a wig with a very short buzz cut underneath.....it's what I have done during the summer anyways XD

yeah well Ranma had purple hair in one manga cover XD it soo random but yeah i hafa say i like it better red to but im not going red :roll: black or my hair color XDi tryed a red wig once and i looked like areal (little mermaid) grrr horrid thought
