LOOKIE----> Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.
Currently the time you have listed will not work to have this. If you must have it on Sunday I have only one suggestion. Start this cosplay chess game @ 12:30 pm and move the gathering to 2/2:30 pm. At 3 pm the Jump gathering starts and at 3:30 - 3:45 is the Jump CE so the Hilton side will be full of peeps. If you are willing to do this suggestion I would STRONGLY recommend the CG gathering group are talked to about this IMMEDIATELY. Time is of the essence. Other wise the chess game will have to fall on Fri, Sat, or Monday

It's not much of a fighting character, but I'll be cosplaying Stoner from Eureka 7 - If that 2nd Rook spot isn't taken, I'd like that, but otherwise a pawn's OK I guess.

My board comes with sashes and crowns for the King and Queen. You don't have to worry about that part; just make sure no one breaks them or we'll have to have someone pay us back for them, the crowns especially and such.
Prizes, you're on your own ^__^
edit: we also have a little chess board included so the players can play using that instead of being confused with the big board.

NEWS FLASH FOR CODE GEASS AND COSPLAYERS' SIDE:
I'm taking out my spot as Bishop because I need to be a player, judge, and announcer for the game so I don't have the time to play the actual game >_< also Oniko has backed out for being the queen so the C.C. (the former Knight 2) will be our new queen and I need people to fill in those 2 spots for the Geass side

-"Best Death" given to the best dramatic death that will amuse the judges XD (us mentioned above :P
-"Most in Character" given to the person in character ALL the time or most of the time... like even after dying or something XD gosh that'll be decided by everyone but mostly us judges XDDDD
-"Most Creative" given to the person who is most creative out of the categories above decided by the judges as well =)
-"Special Mentions 1-4" given to people who fit the categories above but didn't get the award but I LOVE to mention them haha

Um...if no one else minds, I could be the knight. Knight seems a more appropriate position for Kallen than rook anyway, in my opinion. YMMV, though.

I just wanted to say that really, don't worry about not having enough people right now for your game. Remember, not every cosplayer comes to these boards or reads coscom, you'll be able to pick some off the street when the time comes - we did that last year for Bleach Chess xD;

I would be a normal Gekkoukan HS student from P3 but during cosplay chess I would be a wannabe SEES member who, during battle, would attempt to unholster his Evoker only to realize he's really not a SEES member so instead would actually take off the holster and wack someone over the head with it.

Oh no problem! I kind of like it better this way with both of us being rooks. The pattern of the characters as the pieces look a bit more organized. x3

Us as in the Cosplayers even thought i had lil action as a Near Pawn it was funny watching people get smacked around
Man i had a tough time prolonging the game and elimnating as many pieces as i could at the same time, especially after i could have already checkmated after just 8 moves! But dang that was fun!!! Definitly gotta do it again next year!

Hi all! I was the Zero / black side player.
I thought I would've made a better performance, since I was VP of my high school's chess club
(Granted, it had only 3 members and was the lesser of the school's 2 chess clubs - which was founded after some bitter drama between the club president and the other club's president, but I probably shouldn't elaborate here.) :P
Oh well. The game was still totally fun-tastic though - kudos to my opponent, the organizers of the event, and everyone else involved. You can definitely count me in for next year! ;D
