You guys need another Bridget? If so, maybe I can be bridget, cause I'm going as Rosette, and I thought I could use the same habit for both of them!

I'd like to see more manga translated into german....for no reason except that it would be entertaining. You know, I found a german manga-type book at a used book store. It was awesome! I should of bought it.

Ideas and Suggestions / Your ideas here
October 07, 2005, 06:17:32 PM
Quote from: "likkyan"I'm liking the idea of a dance that's a little less... clubbish.  I'd prefer swing to ballroom, though, since it's more of a social dance than a romantic dance.  With swing, it's easier to toss around/switch partners.

Isn't swing considered ballroom dancing? Anyway, I know eastcoast, merenge, and salsa, so anyone who wants to learn, just find me! Yeah, we don't need too much romantic dancing, do we? I guess we could throw a couple of those dances into the mix. But swing sounds great. Especially if there was a small class/panel about the basics beforehand. Maybe? Maybe not?

I love the cosplay chess idea, to death. As for the fashion show, it sounds cool, but I dont know anyone who makes their own costumes up. Maybe the fashion show could make it a more popular thing to do, but I'm not sure about this.... And also about the cosplay chess....what is speed chess?

Ha! This year I'm gonna do two cosplays:

Rosette from Chrno Crusade

Mitsuki OR Anne from He is my Master (they wear the same outfit anyways!)
#30
Yeah, but would the cosplay chess have to be Naruto against Ranma 1/2? I imagined it more of everyone dresses as whichever character and we use paper hats to tell the pieces apart. And the teams could be black and white or something.

And a Clannad anime.

Go yotsuba&! We need more!!! Prequels, sequels, all of it! Oh...and an anime would help too...

what if it's just a semi-realistic toy gun that makes lame sound effects when you press the trigger?

General Anime Chat / Anime "too cute" to watch?
September 18, 2005, 11:25:21 AM
Yeah, that snow fairy one is WAY TOO CUTE. Just watching the preview made me get a tummy ache. And Di Gi Charat (or something like that). I've never watched the show, but unless those adoragoddamable little fairies are being violently mutilated, it's too cute.

General Anime Chat / Um....
September 18, 2005, 11:21:45 AM
One thing that has been upsetting me is that anime is becoming too "mainstream." Now I've got nothing against mainstream, but things do tend to lose their magic after that happens. I remember when I first started getting into anime, there was only a small section in a couple movie stores for it. Manga was a tiny little area between the fantasy and science fiction books at Borders. Most of the anime conventions I went to were alot smaller. Now you can find anime at every place that sells other movies. The anime section at bookstores has its own row. And even Hot Topic has a fairly large section of anime. Everyone knows what it is. And now that it's becoming more popular, the people that are making anime want to make something that will sell, and something that will appeal to everyone. Theyre trying ideas that have been popular before. But hey! Us diehard anime fans have to hang in there! Personally, I've been exploring older animes that I've never seen before, the classics man.

General Anime Chat / Which Anime Character are you?
September 15, 2005, 09:34:35 PM
Osaka from Azumanga Daioh. I'm hella spacy, ask weird questions, don't know diddley sqat about nothing, and I always fall asleep during class (or anywhere else for that matter.)

Panels and Workshops / Dollfie workshop

hey, a dollfie panel isn't a bad idea. Those things kinda scare me....but at the same time are quite intriguing.

Staff & Volunteers / Becoming a Volunteer
July 22, 2005, 11:44:53 PM
I'll meet new friends if I'm staff? Does that mean I won't meet anyone new as a volunteer? That sucks! teehee! I dunno, staff sounds kinda scary....like there's more responsibility involved. And lemme get this out now, I'm great at doing what people tell me, but I suck at telling others what to do. Is there a huge difference between staff and vols?
