Regardless of beatmania/IIDX's status as not-really-a-sim, I still say: put it in. :D (Yeah, I know, impossible for IIDX.)

Also, bring back both ParaParaParadise and DanceManiaX.

some that i would like to see return that probably will are Maximum Tune2, DDR, and basically everything that was there for 2006.

one request that i would like to make is for a greater presence of shoot-em-ups, like espgaluda, dolphin blue, and the sort.

The arcade industry would have ended in the 90's if it weren't for fighting games, so I'm gonna suggest:

Capcom vs SNK 2
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Guilty Gear XX: #Accent Core
Soul Calibur 3: Arcade Edition
Tekken 5.2: Dark Resurrection
King of Fighter XI

These games are guaranteed to draw a crowd of people from shoryuken.com. I too would like to see Melty Blood, but last I've heard, it was really expensive. bytheway, will you people be using the same vendor, OnCampus Entertainment?

EDIT: changed GG:Reload to GG:Accent Core

DDR Extreme 2
Time Crisis 4

And maybe a Wii section if possible.

I'd LOVE to see the New Hokuto no Ken(Fist of the North Star) Fighting Game. I'm DYING to play that game being an avid fan of the series! I hope they get it at the con, cause then I know what I'm going to spend at least $50 on...

Seconded! I know that AX had the FotNS game where it is kinda like Mocap Boxing but you hit these cusions for the punch. I dunno how easy that is to get in the bay area but who knows!

Also I would love to see the two samurai simulators one is the Namco game (I forgot the name) that is at Dave and Busters and there is another one by Konami that came out a couple of years ago.. ugh I forgot what it was called but both are pretty damn cool and give you a work out.

Too bad there isn't a GOD HAND arcade machine.. oh god that game is mindless fun!

Good picks. :D It's always fun playing new Bemani games and trying out the new songs. The new Time Crisis also looks really good. I can't believe its already been 10 years since the series started.

Some others I'll be hoping to play soon..
After Burner Climax
Virtua Fighter 5
Initial D Stage 4
Beatmania IIDX 14 Gold

WAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO

(I apologize for the comment, but I realistically think that if we're even going to have IIDX in the first place, it's probably going to be an older style. I'm hoping for 9th+.)

well, if you think about it, JP only has a few of the test machines out right now, so the chances of us getting Accent Core out here in time for Fanime seem slim. but yea, if they can get that to the U.S. before the con, then we want Accent Core. the masses beg for it!!!

The thing is that location testing usually happens about three to four months, tops, before the actual game is released. They're in location testing right now, which means that GGXX Accent-Core should be available in Japanese markets by February 2007 and marked for exportation by April, at the latest.

Taking this one step further: I request the deluxe cabinets if at all possible. The difference between a standard and a deluxe cabinet? Motion feedback. Your seat moves according to wherever ya steer. <3 I had the privilege of experiencing two such machines in Circus Circus Las Vegas, and goddamn, it's fun.

qft on all games except supernova, just because an itg r21 with hacked songs can get you any supernova song you want, and because itg r21 period = infinite # of songs so yeah

otherwise yeah definitely all those games[/quote]

I think you just don;t like DDR.

I remember what you said about it last year. I c wut u did thar.

I don't think that DDR players like myself are going to bother going out and gettign a flash drive to load the songs and step charts on to ITG.

However, I think we should go with Extreme instead of Supernova. Extreme just has a bunch of older stuff that supernova doesn't.

You were bashing DDR last year hard core status along with the people who played it. I remember *slinty eyes*

As far as supernova goes, it's not just about the songs. The options for supernova can't even compare to what you had in Extreme, especially with the arrow colors and such.

Supernova is cool and all, but if I had a choice, I would go with Exteme.

And I demand your source for that there expansion. I call BS.

Okay, look, I'm sorry that you have to be so crazy about "which version is better blah blah blah" (and Supernova does NOT have Solo. At least not the arcade version) I never cared enough about DDR to be part of a "community". I'm pretty content with playing casually.

As for not knowing much, I have not exibited my knowledge of DDR. You are jumping to conclusions, probably because of the lack of information that I decided to provide. I was giving my OPINION. Look through, I did not give facts. Granted, I may have stated my opinions as facts, but anybody could read that I was stating an opinion.

And I don't think I need to know stuff about DDR to be able to play a stupid game. I don't need to know a whole freaking history to know what I like.

Supernova got rid of quite a few songs that I really enjoyed. Even if it was just five or so songs, they were five or so GOOD songs. And I think a good majority of the other DDR players would agree with me.

SO, please stop being such a big-headed windbag and drop it.

Im pretty sure Ive mentioned this several times before but lets be sure to have 3S and CvS2. DDR, ITG or Pump, it doesnt matter anymore, its just for fun, Noobs and Veterans alike will play them regardless; however, my preference is for DDR. If they have SN, then Ill play SN if they have Extreme then Ill play Extreme but I dont like to get that sweaty anymore.

Hell no. I'll play PPP if I want to, and everyone who doesn't like it can simply look away. I'm not going to give a damn about what someone I don't know thinks of me.

On another note...
- Giga Wing
- In the Groove (with the r21 patch)
- Mario Kart Arcade GP (if possible, get the carded version, so we can win new items)
- Para Para Paradise 2nd Mix
- Pump It Up (Zero or NX)

I'll second this for the sake of one of my friends... I know she's love it. OwO

Seconds Arcana Heart as well. XD

All regular fighters are standards for anime con arcades: MvC2, CvS2, SCIII, T5DR, SF3, even SSBM or SSBB.

I have no strategy in Super Puzzle Fighter 2.  All I do is play at the fastest setting and drop items as quickly as possible.  Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I'd say my playing style for this game is analogous to button mashing in fighting games. XD

Yeah that won't happen. If OCE could track down a Beatmania III: The Final machine (not 7th mix I play that like every other day.) that would also be alright. Since I already have the floppy drives for Sozai mode.

I dunno if everyone's read it or not, but Dave and Buster's is considering the purchase of IIDX GOLD in their locations nationwide (aparrently they loved it at ASI in Vegas.)
Since I'm drinkin' age, and a devoted follower towards IIDX god-tier status, I believe this would be the nail in golfland's coffin for me.

Golflands have gotten pretty bad lately, but since I moved I've stopped going there. Drummania V in San Francisco is pretty good, plus the fighting game competition at SF State never seems to die down. And there's always my place (bemani/3rd strike central as I call it.) I just need one more fighter stick and I'll have a pretty nice setup for 2 people. PM me if you're ever heading in or out of the city and need a place for the night. My roommates are pretty cool about guests.

P.S when are you heading to Japan again?

DOC? Oh man, I remember my GF at the time and I were really addicted to that (we titled it horsey-crack.) The problem is that cabinent is so huge I don't see how they would get the cabinent and monitor in there. That, and to my knowledge none of the University Arcades, or the OCE warehouses have that in their library. I could be wrong though.

From what I heard the arcade will be in the same place, so it wont be too hard to cart it into the SJCC. I think it would be awesome to have it during the con esp in the late hours where there will be more players and people can bet/cheer for their favorite horse.

Just would be awesome! I wonder if there is anybody from Sega that reads the forums that would be able to bring it to the con. heh

It's actually quite possible with the 'slimmer' cabinet -- e.g. the version at the Boardwalk, as opposed to the XBOX HUEG one MGL hosted not quite a while back.

But if I remember correctly, Sega keeps a tab on all of the DOC cabinets, so would getting them into a four-day convention be possible/okay with Sega?

Currently impossible, because of the very nature of the game (the machines must be connected to Namco's iM@S servers, which IIRC keep tabs on all arcades that have the game).

If it were possible, we'd be seeing e-AMUSEMENT on Bemani machines by now. ;)

I guess the only place in the south bay that has it is Dave and Busters.. oh well :(

I do notice that all the golflands in Northern California (bayarea/roseville) is starting to suck bad nowadays.. sign of the times I guess?

Be certain that it doesn't work because IM@S is region encoded.  Region encoding is optional to developers and is done in-software.  It just so happens that Namco always likes to exercise that option. >.<

Thirded, and impossible.

I don't think there's an F-Zero AX machine in the Bay Area anymore. The only one I ever knew of was the good old Deluxe Cabinet at SVGL. It's long gone, and it's whereabouts are unknown.

If there actually is one in the Bay Area still, it should be brought to Fanime.

Only other games I can think of are Hokuto no Ken and GitaDora V3.

My recommendation would be to get both Accent Core and Slash as not many people have much experience in playing AC. There would be a better chance of really good matches if Slash was present, but if it would be possible to swing both machines, that would be the best of both worlds.

Edit: And I know this is a long shot, but an MBAC ver.B cabinet would be quite awesome as well.
