... Besides waiting in line to pay up, I'll sneak around and check the rooms out first before I hang out with anybody. I don't know about the Fanime folks, but for me, Fanime is a time where I can wander around freely and just think about things. No one really knows my face, so there's a different atmosphere that sometimes leads me into thinking, "Hey... I'm finally away from school." It's kinda nice. I'm... finally away.
So, what about you guys? What's the first thing you're going to do?
Check in ----> get badge -----> check around town - find something good to eat -----> going to swamp meet
Thursday: Drive 6 hours to San Jose while listening to insanely loud jpop, jrock, and all things dance. Arrive at the Fairmont, check in, head to the center and wait in line for my badge.
As for Friday: First thing I'm going to do is head to the dealer's room when it opens and pray to Jesus the same booth with all the contact lenses is there so I can buy a pair of green contacts for my cosplay X )
Jump out the car with everything I need fo Mask and Flag to Cash and skit CD, and Run. RUN to the reg booths!
Probably enter the kareoke contest. Stake out the rooms. See who's arrived.
Check in to hotel, pick up badge, go to con ops to get my props peacebonded, and then commence the wandering around.
Other than dropping all my stuff in the hotels and running out like a maniac, Im going to handcuff myself to my sister, then im going to run to the dealers room to buy an item for my costume.
Or maybe stand in the middle of the area and squeal in excitement?
Get badge > Get hotel key > Put stuff in hotel, change into cosplay > Work at Registration. :D
Now thats something I can't decide.
maybe I'll go look for cosplayers to take pictures of them or go to the dealers room and buy that Hellsing backpack I saw last year but couldn't buy
I'm going to point at the first person I see in cosplay ;)

1st thing at Fanime: Take a concept, and run with it. ;D

I typically stand in line, get my badge, and then abandon the con for food. :P There's just something about queuing that makes me hungry - although someone in registration gave me licorice while I waited in line last year. Whoever you are, you rock! (Bring more licorice for this year.)
Arrive on Thrusday, check into my room, spend some quality time catching up with my friend, possibly grab a quick nap as I need to be up at 5:30 in the morning Eastern time, then go get our badges.
Check in to my hotel room, get some food and sleep. Wake up when needed

Anyways when i heading there in the morning by Caltrain so I'm gonna get my badge first.
Thursday: Go to class until 11 > drive with my dad for three hours to San Jose > go to my uncles apartment for the night.
Friday: Wake up > shower > drive to convention center > get my badge > scope the con > once it's 3 check into my room > go get groceries > get into cosplay > go wild > Around 7 meet up with my high school's anime club, my best friend, and some friends from out of state.
Saturday, Sunday, Monday: No plans.
Go to my hotel room and get my my badge. :)

PS: I admit, that this isn't on-topic, and what I'm about to say doesn't belong in this forum, but it's a message I really need to get across to people here.
I have a fan art caption contest that I plan to hold at the con and I need volunteers. I posted a topic about the event in the panels and workshop forum a month ago and due to that forum's inactivity, I haven't gotten one response for it, even though it has a description along with rules and disclaimers and I even posted my e-mail address in the topic telling people to contact me if they wanted to participate in the contest or volunteer in it.
So if anyone reading this is interested in participating or volunteering in this contest, could you please let me know? I plan to have prizes for this event and it's going to be almost impossible for me to run this event, if I don't have at least a few volunteers.

Thursday: Buy booze at Mitsuwa and hang out with people, eat dinner, drive home.
Friday: Pick up my hotel roommates at south hayward BART, drive from Hayward to San Jose(hopefully be there by 9 a.m), go to line to pick up badge, get food, con begins, check in the hotel later, drink(rinse, wash, repeat during the entire con), find Fanimafia People, take cosplay pics, go to swap meet and sell crap.
Rest of weekend: PARTY LIKE A M'FER XD

Supposedly planned for Friday and Saturday evening with a brand new event for Sunday evening. Now I need to figure out which cosplays to wear for the best...performance :-*
Arrive, bump into a million friends on my way to my hotel, go to random places, finally get to the room, go to other people's rooms, get distracted on my way to getting my badge, take lots of pictures, probably bump into a million more friends and get side tracked some more, go wherever the wind (re: otaku crowds) will take me
...then try to go get my badge again
Check in, settle in, relax, wait till about 7 on thursday, then go get my roommates badges! After that..dunno. lol
