Title: Staff exodus?
Post by: otakuforlife on February 11, 2024, 08:30:40 PM
Seems like a lot of Fanime staff have resigned within the last few days according to posts on the unofficial Fanime Group on FB...should I be concerned about that? I hope the upcoming open house is successful because I fear Fanime running on a skeleton crew and the existing staff and volunteers burning out

I'm certainly worried 😅

Mostly worried for the staff, since this kind of thing happens after years of mistreatment and not just on a whim, and I can only imagine that will get worse if they're severely understaffed.

My friends notified me this and I thought it was just a prank until I read the story. #failedbyfanime. Fanime used to be amazing but now it felt Less and less exciting!

Yeah I read that one many weeks ago and I was debating about wether i should particpate fanime con or just visit a different convention altogether. ALot has changed and it feels more intimidating to enjoy the con. If this year has any improvements then I MIGHT come back but this might be my last fanime con if my friends also decided NOT to particpate.
