Thanks for the info Kava.

Meirin I've sent some information to you through PM. Let's organize this ASAP.

I have been thinking of having a general panel in which addresses the current culture that is vocaloid; some early ideas currently are the beginning of the madness, nicovideo in-jokes and reasoning behind derivative characters (Yowane Haku, Akita Neru), recognizable/early popular fan parodies (I.E. MikuMikuDance App, Chibi Miku-san).

The panel is looking to be somewhat informative, with commentary, and other workings in how the system really works.

I'm thinking that doing this panel alone may be a little intimidating, so I'm looking for some partners to help me with the material.

If pockystix is reading this, this is based off of your original proposal.

Ideas? Comments?

I just got my copy in from UPS. Game Crazy didn't have it in their system (though they had it on the pre-order list) and the EB in Valley Fair didn't either. Now I just need to find time to get around and play it.

Anyone else got this and can give me an idea of differences from the first? With minimum spoilers? :P

It's something I'm going to start after I finish Persona 4.

Some differences Include:

Ability to use more than one Reyvateil during normal battles

Block/Attack Phases that allow you to null decrease/increase damage

Dive system still stays the same

I haven't started it yet, but I think those are more of the notables. It's the first game with a different battle system and two new heroines; I assume Grafmelding and the lot of equips still exists.

Online Gaming Planet (OGP) has been interested in a venue since last year of being able to hold a booth in the dealer's room and promoting their games.

They also tie in with a possible third year Pangya panel that I have in mind.

Since this is a general request thread, I'm naming most of the seiyuu that come to mind, except for the two below.

I request these two every year, so here goes:

Kumichi Yoshizuki (Artist)
Norie Yamada (Writer)

This duo is responsible for Someday's Dreamers.

I would not mind (albeit unlikely) any these seiyuu (All of them play a role in Nanoha one way or another, and have even more roles beyond):

Kana Ueda
Nana Mizuki
Yukari Tamura
Kaori Shimizu
Natsuko Kuwatani
Ryoka Yuzuki
Ai Shimizu
Aya Hisakawa
Tomokazu Sugita

and a couple others:

Ami Koshimizu (Notable as Yukiko in Persona 4, Kallen in Geass )

Jun Fukuyama (Aka Lelouch)

Just watched Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. (Up to 2)

Hella quality. This is definitely going to be a season top. Great OP and ED track too.

Uh, no, I think a BlazBlue cabinet could be "borrowed" from some place or another. I know that SJSU has one and I know SVGL has one; hopefully by con date there will be something in the works (I don't know how that will work out, but not having anything BlazBlue on the floor would be a mistake, in my opinion).

To be frank I don't really care for the GG series with BlazBlue out, and I know that many GG players have moved towards this game as well.

I went to the cabinet this afternoon after my final and it seems like a lot of people are using Taokaka and Tager aside from the usual crew. It's too early to tell tiers but it seems like Tao's pretty high up, and given the Rachel footage I've seen she's pretty high up as well. As for Ragna he's pretty there (Damage it up like Sol, really).

Jin's still pretty annoying though for JP "low tier".

VOCALOID Panel. It's becoming less obscure, so there should be quite a few people that are interested. It's been quite the phenomenon this year and I was surprised to see any VOCALOID cosplayers last year at all. (There was quite the turnout at AX, though).
Anyone want to try? I'd help. P:

You have me a little intrigued pocky, but at the same time I don't think the US community really understands VOCALOID culture as a whole so it might be ambiguous in its prospects. Honestly I like the obscurity in the US right now, but if we host a panel on this we may very well just go over how to work out the software and the running in-jokes about it... maybe.

RE Episode 7:

Miyazawa~ I had this girl pegged from the beginning. This just keeps getting better and better.

But hell, I wouldn't have minded an extension of Misae stuff beforehand.

That's... more funny than moé.

It's not relevant to the thread in any aspect, frankly, and should be removed.

His situation was not a lay off, not an economy-based decision, according to statements by the company. They are planning to hire even more employees later this year.

Which means it was something based on his own actions that caused him to be let go.

I'd like to hear someone's opinion who voted "YES" for Prop 8 that was somewhat knowledgeable of the topic and ACTUALLY READ THE BALLOT MEASURE.

A discussion from my friend playing devil's advocate told me one of the key points behind the proponent was simply this; in the Christian faith you are taught from the beginning that the existance of homosexuality, and just the existance, is offensive/affronting to your morals. So YES supporters feel that homosexuality was something that never existed in the first place, made as a choice, and the very thought/exposure to them infringes their rights as Christians.

Personally, I think this kind of logic is preposterous as it still forces "my religion says you're horrible", but the expanded strings of thought deviate into faith of a possible higher being and the proponent of faith and why people feel how they feel.

More than enough politics for me for the next two years.

I am up to date on it, but since the first chapter I've really felt like the author is trying to force-feed the audience to accept this "drool relationship" as some wonderful new concept; not to mention the way info transferred is just strange.

To be honest it's not something that amazing; Urabe will eventually get much closer to the protagonist and a love triangle is going to form at some point (Probably with the recent events of encountering his past interest).

Drool isn't my kind of ... fetish... for lack of a better word.

Just for the sake of being clear:

The following is based on the LEGAL TEXT, NOT TELEVISION:

All this "protect children" and "forced marriage education" business is not mentioned in the text of the law. In the actual statement made in the California voter guide (Official .gov), there is no mandate requiring ANYTHING to be taught or banned from teaching given the proposition does/does not go through.

In other words, voters assumed if NO was passed on the proposition, a new law would be passed that reforms district teachings (Which is false).

THERE IS NO SUCH CONSEQUENCE. It simply removes the right for homosexual couples to marry. That's it.

There's no such child protection act or banning in schools. In fact, the education system HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PROPOSITION FINE TEXT.

This isn't a matter of tolerance for free speech. This is a matter of Californians failing to actually research what mess they approved.

http://www.voterguide.sos.ca.gov/title-sum/prop8-title-sum.htm

Show me where it protects Children. It does not.

guys it just occured to me that I dont know how to cook rice :D

How the Foreigners Do it: Add water to line according to number of cups you put in, click button.

How the Asians Do it: (Optional: Wash white rice up to 3 times in tap water, swishing lightly to remove excess powder/processing grains) Alternatively you can put your hand down flat on top of the rice and fill it with water until it raises to your knuckles.
A little less for harder, drier rice, and a little more with Chinese sausage on top (Due to moisture content).
