Okay, so I still want to sing "Brothers" from FMA and I still don't know if I can sing the english version even though it didn't appear in the anime. If it turns out that I can't sing the english version, will it count against me if I brought the russian lyrics up on stage with me? Obviously it shouldn't hinder my voice, but will this prevent me from getting those mysterious 'coolness' points?

my duet partner and I are bound to drop in when we can ^^; be it open mic time or "official rehersal" time.. well.. I never fail to try the mics/sound at least ONCE before contest starts...

I wish I was wise and tried the mics before I competed two years ago. I was able to get into the final round, but when I tried singing Life is Like a Boat, the karaoke software had weird effects on the song and it threw me off. I even knew how bad I sounded.... Five minutes of pain... >_< Not doing that song again.

My friend might be going as Ran Fan if she can get the armor done in time. ^_^

Hey, I'm cosplaying as a lesser character! I'm so much a lesser character, that I don't even appear in the anime. (Mei Chang) .... *sigh* I just hope no one will be like "wtf!? why's a little chinese girl in the FMA group!?".

In lighter news, I found my Xiao Mei! In fact, I found three. 0_o;;

dangit! I have play rehearsal from 9am to 10pm straight tommorrow because our drama teacher is insane! I won't have computer access for most of tomorrow to even sign-up.... ;_;

Did Vic perform this version in the dubbed version of FMA? If so, it is okay. If it's something he made up on his own for fun, then no.

I don't think he sang it in the dubbed version, but he did release a recording of him singing it, so it must have some permission or officiality from the anime series. I don't see how it would be less official than a remix. I remember one year a girl sang "Fly me to the Moon" with an added verse at the beginning, completely in english, and she got 5th place. So by that reasoning, I think I could perfom this song in english, especially since this song was written solely for the anime series.

I've never actually been to gathering before, so I don't know how long they tend to be. I don't see why going past noon would be a problem unless people have to eat exactly at 12pm.  :? Oh we could just meet at 10:00 or 10:30. But in any case, sunday morning looks like our best bet.

Hi all! I just wanted to drop in and say that I'm cosplaying as Mei Chang from the manga. I'm going to be at the con all day saturday and sunday.

Edward Elric's voice actor! Vic Mingnon (sp?)

Jonny Yong Bosch (who plays a ton of roles. Kaneda, Vash, Ichigo Kurosaki, etc.)

And I know it's technically not 'anime' but if we had the creators of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Mike Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko come(they did it at PMX), then I could die happy. (okay, maybe I wouldn't die happy, but at least I'd be happier.)

Anyone see me? I was the gothic bat thing with a pink heart. (I was supposed to be the Hellsing Organization's logo) I was only there for saturday, but I won first place in the saturday 10am Game Show! Yep, that was me!
And my friend was the girl who won the Yaoi con raffle on saturday. (she won the riza/roy poster! *hates her*) :XD The funny thing is everyone thought she was Ed form FMA when she was really Alucard from Hellsing....

While I'm dissapointed in Naruto, the anime I was most dissapointed in was Kai-Doh-Maru.
It's from the creators of Blood: The Last Vampire, and was said to have amazing animation. I read a review saying how great and artistic and revolutionary it was. Kai-Doh-maru was utter crap. The storyline sucked, because they tried to fit an epic story with a ton of characters to develop in 45 minutes, and it was just boring. The animation quality actually HURT my EYES to watch. It's supposed to change film quality in accordance to the season, but the grainyness and humidity of 'summer' took away from what little art there was. All the character designs and backgrounds and buildings were extremely plain. The blood was neon red and I can't tell you how much it irritated me to watch the series.
Like in Blood: the Last Vampire, it used actual taped footage in the anime, though while it worked beautifully in Blood, it looked like a cheesey home video of random plants in Kai-doh-maru.
I feel so decieved. The dvd wasn't even worth the coupon I used to buy it.

It's not exactly cosplay, but does anyone remember the WWII veterans reunion at the SJCC during famine 2004? My friend bought a japanese head band, and me who can only read a little kanji, saw the word 'wind'.
Me:  "Hm... wind... kaze... what would include kaz-Uh, *friends name* you might want to take that off!"
Friend: "Why?"
Me: "Because it says Kami Kaze!"
Friend: "OMG! :shock: " *takes off headband*

Yeah, fortunately we reconized it before it was too late.

Lil question about languages- so last years rules say:
"New or experienced, causal or in costume, singing in Japanese or English"
so doe sthat mean "Canta Per Me" - Noir and  "Sea of Miracles" record of Lodoss war Chronicls of the Heroic Knight are ok to sing??

The group that won the karaoke contest last year sang "Canta Per Me", so I'm assuming that as long as it's in the anime, no matter what language, it's okay.
