I was absolutely shocked when they started playing 1/3 no junjou na kanjou!! I've loved that song for years, it's such an iconic song in the anime industry, even though I found it through Pop Japan TV and not anime. :P And RYUUSEI! That's my FAVORITE FLOW song! That and Life is Beautiful, but I didn't expect either songs, so I was ecstatic when they played Ryuusei!

Does anyone have the playset for Yuya Matsushita?? I wish I listened to him more before Fanime, he was SO sexy live. @__@ There's one song where he kept repeating this word over and over, very sexy dance song, I want that song so badly! Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?? XD

I'm so glad there was someone else who felt the same way! The anime that got me into this whole crazy adventure 8 years ago was Rurouni Kenshin, and 1/3 Junjou na Kanjou(one of the ending songs from it) was the first Japanese song I learned how to sing, so when I heard them playing it, I promptly freaked out and got up and started singing along, haha xD I could tell hardly anyone knew what it was (understandably so, the song is at least from 1996 or earlier, from a not well known artist), but it was actually one of the most memorable moments of the convention for me.

They definitely put on a great show. : )
I'm actually looking for more non-cosplay photos of myself than cosplay, but here goes, haha xD

*Luka (Vocaloid - Magnet)

*hANGRY&ANGRY Fashion Show (I was the model with the big, teased pigtails w/black hair)

*Kanda(D.Gray-Man - Third Arc)
*Lolita Fashion Show/Panel (I was wearing a blue Atelier Pierrot high-waisted corset skirt)

*Gyaru(I was wearing a white/floral Liz Lisa dress, pink cowboy boots, and a Korilakkuma jacket)

Thanks in advance! :D
@Gale Wolf: Just letting you know I sent you a PM; whenever you can check it, that would be great, thanks! : )
Got an email this morning saying I got accepted as a model! Can't wait to model for Gashicon again, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you! : )
Sure! I hope it benefitted you in some way! : )

Unfortunately, I hate to burst your bubble, but if you get a JR pass, you don't go through the normal ticket gates, you have to show your pass to the person in the booth to the left/right of the ticket gates so that they can let you in. It only takes a second and isn't a hassle, but you don't put your tickets through the ticket gates like everyone else.
Just as a heads up, you can dye it a darker green (as long as the wig is made out of kanekalon fiber, preferably) with FW ink or sharpie ink, just search for the tutorials on the forums! The sun will not fade the color. xD
Really? That's bizarre, I still haven't heard from them. Anyone else here heard/haven't heard from them?

i heard from them, and got declined >.<
I might be biased because I'm a wig commissioner, but I personally think that 99% of the time, a (well styled, high quality) wig always looks significantly better than real hair. I could go on and on about why, but I'll leave it at that : )
You're definitely correct on your first point, a JR pass is only worth it if you plan on taking the Shinkansen more than once (which I personally did), but it's definitely incorrect to say that it's worthless in Tokyo. I personally used it several times a day on the Yamanote line and Chuo line in Tokyo. The only time I didn't use the JR pass for my two weeks in Japan was when I took the Keio line once to an outlying area, and when I used my Odakyu free pass in Hakone. Otherwise, if you're in central Tokyo, I see no reason why you couldn't almost exclusively use your JR pass.

on the train thing, i was lucky and never hit rush hour when we were traveling.  i would highly recommend picking up a jr pass before you go though - it'll save you a lot of time in the train stations because you wont have to worry about tickets on any of the local trains.  it also allows you to ride the shinkansen (bullet train) for free.

A JR pass is only worth it if you're taking the Shinkansen and staying somewhere not in Tokyo. Most of Tokyo doesn't use JR, so it'd be kind of worthless. Odakyu, Oedo, etc. etc. etc. is what you'll be taking around Tokyo which aren't part of JR. If you go to Kyoto or Hokkaido (basically if you take a trip to the Northern or Southern areas)then the JR pass is worth it. Buying a ticket to Kyoto is about the same price as getting a week JR pass.

Oh, I should explain. A JR Pass is basically an unlimited use train pass on the JR Lines. This pass is ONLY available to foreigners and you must buy it in advance before coming to Japan. You local travel agency or what not will have information on this.
I'm seconding the question, have they just stopped accepting applications, or have they contacted the chosen applicants? As far as I know, they were supposed to be accepting applications until the 20th, so I'm surprised that they closed them, much less picked the applicants.
Registration / Re: Schedule?

The schedule tends to be posted about a week before the convention~

Badge pick-up generally starts around 5:00pm on Day 0, although people line up a few hours to many hours before that. There is another thread about Day 0 badge pickup, just do a search!
Is it safe to assume that the guest is Gashicon and the fashion show is for Hangry&Angry? : )

1990's - Rurouni Kenshin!
They usually post it anywhere from a week to a few days before the convention : )
Submitted! I have a quick question about check in/start times: in the rules, I read that check-in is from 2-5:30pm and prelims start at 6pm, however, on the confirmation page I got when I signed up just now, it said that check in is from 3-6:30pm. Which one is accurate? Thank you!
I was wondering why last year's line was so much longer compared to previous years; I had no idea they lumped in early-reg with pre-reg! This makes total sense now, I know I stood in line for at least 4 hours on Day 0, and I was there relatively early.
Can you release any more information, like if they are looking for gothic-styled models versus normal or sweet lolita-styled models? I would like to enter, but I look drastically different in differently styled photos and would like to know what to send. Thank you very much!
What PyronIkari and Haruka said are very much true, although I hadn't known before that halfs were looked down on so much. I just came back last Saturday from Japan, and me and my somewhat Japanese-looking at times girlfriend were treated extremely nicely the entire time we were there. It helped that I speak a good amount of Japanese, enough to carry on casual conversations, and they seemed very impressed with our Japanese and honored that we were there during their time of crisis. I was actually blown away by random strangers' kindness, which ranged from helping us with our baggage when we kept having problems on the streets (some lady with a baby even tried to help us, and the owner of the ryokan we were staying at personally lugged our heavy bags up this steep hill to the train station), to just little things like moving seats while they were eating dinner so that we could sit down.

It definitely helped that we understand and respect their culture and customs, unlike some tourists we met who were from Mississippi who were rather rude and were thus treated not as nicely as we were. We were also wearing different Japanese fashions when we were in Tokyo and Kyoto, and several middle school and high school kids thought we were celebrities or something, because they kept asking to take photos with us, it was really cute. xD

Anyways, point being, you are inevitably going to get some people who are going to fake politeness or possibly act rudely to you, especially if you are going south of Kyoto or north of Tokyo, but as long as you maintain some respect and common sense, I think you'll be just fine. I find it hard to believe that anything someone could do within those areas could be any worse than any way people could treat you here.
Seconding Abingdon Boys School, Gazette would be more than awesome, but unlikely.

Chaba - Kind of obscure, they did a few Naruto endings.

Aqua Timez - Star Driver, Bleach, Naruto, etc

Nico Touches the Walls - Did some Naruto op/ends, FMA, etc

That's all I can come up with that aren't the obvious, but highly unlikely to appear choices. xD
