Will picking up you badge at clockwork instead of fanime affect how the badges will look?
Yes. The Clockwork Alchemy pick up station will have the Clockwork Alchemy design and the FanimeCon ones will have the FanimeCon designs.

Do you know if people who signed up for Fanime are aloud or are able to go to the Steam Powered Giraffe concert?

The FanimeCon/Clockwork Alchemy badges will let you participate and watch events at both FanimeCon and Clockwork Alchemy.

(I changed your post subject to reflect your question.)

So has anybody been confirmed for a table and moved passed step 3 at all? I know there's a time limit until we can pay for tables and it's getting pretty close.
The listed time limit will be moved for any individuals that are accepted after the cut off date so you won't need to worry about that.

Hey guys!
I won't be at Fanime this year, but I do love this convention dearly. I've attended this con for almost 10 years. I do hope one day to return..

I recently posted an editorial on encouraging conventions on how it is important to make everyone feel safe and have a reporting system (know who to contact) and encouraging enforcing disciplinary action against perpetrators.

Link here: http://scarlet-rhapsody.com/?p=2883

I thought I'd open up the floor on how staff can keep Fanime attendees safe and have a way to report / punish people who do harassment.

Good article! I did want to say that FanimeCon makes every attempt to ensure that all of our attendees are in a safe environment from each staff member to our rovers to security to the San Jose Police Department are constantly communicating to ensure that the safety of everyone is there. We don't let our staff slide in anyway if they're harassing *anyone* and we treat every reported incident in the same professional and careful manner. If someone is harassing you, report it to the nearest staffer (with as much information as possible like badge number) - if it's someone with a radio, even better (as they can report it directly to our Convention Operations, instantly). If they are staff, you can ask for their staff badge number and they should give it to you.

Quote from: chibimonster on April 10, 2013, 10:39:58 PMI heard people saying on facebook that people started getting waitlisted after about 7 minutes. Then again, facebook has already proven to be unreliable.
Once the dust settles a bit more on the AA tables, we should be able to say how long it took to "fill" out the tables.

Maybe we should have some sort of online obstacle course in order for people to register for an AA table. Something like "Answer these 100 randomly selected questions completely correct!* :D

*Not serious**
**Maybe***
***No, not really serious

Quote from: chibimonster on April 10, 2013, 10:34:16 PMUgh that means that it can only get worse from here on out. Are you going to post signup stats like you did last year? How quickly did tables sell out this time?
Less time than last year. I believe last year's official stat was "15 minutes" and this year's unofficial stat is "<15 minutes" (only because I haven't received the official word... yet).

Quote from: chibimonster on April 10, 2013, 10:06:24 PMYeah, my sister was using chrome and she said that she had to refresh pages several times. I guess that's just the way the table war goes these days. Just out of curiosity (sorry if this is off-topic), were artist alley signups less crazy in earlier years, like 2008, or have they been crazy since Fanime's early days?
No problem on the offtopic (this time :P): They've been crazy for as long as I can remember. There was a time when we wouldn't sell out but there was still a mad dash for artists wanting a table.

Quote from: chibimonster on April 10, 2013, 09:57:47 PMWeird, because people on facebook have been saying that they didn't get their verification emails at all and that there were issues with Chrome. Maybe I should stop taking things I read on facebook for fact...
Ah, we did get the report about Chrome handling the links incorrectly. That should be fixed by now, but there wasn't any crash that I was aware of. Our mail server was dishing out e-mails as fast as they were being requested.

I know that crashes were reported, but those were just slowdowns. :(

Big Event Showcase / Re: Cosplay Spectacular 2013

Just a small update that our Cosplay group is aware of this thread. They are dealing with some other high level priority things and will get to this post as soon as they can.

Hi. Please do not speculate about prices or changes. We are looking at releasing more information as soon as we finalize it. Speculation is how rumors begin and I've already had a few people message me if any of the speculation in this thread is fact.

Did anybody get a table yet? Can a mod start a "buy table space" thread to contain purchase requests?

Generally those threads are started by artists. Why don't you make one and ask a mod to make it a sticky or something?

Did you not get a table? D: I heard the app crashed pretty badly. I was on an airplane when registration went up and my little sister had to full the form out for me, so I don't really know what happened.
It was sluggish from about 5 minutes beforehand to about one-two after we released it and then recovered. It never crashed as far as I'm aware (I was able to access it just fine).

I have this at the top of my page when I log in: "Congratulations! Your table request is preliminarily approved, pending the final review of work for compliance with the table agreement by AA Staff."

But I also have this further down: "The Artist Alley application site has closed for the season! We've selected all our artists, and we are full!
Thank you for your interest in FanimeCon 2013 Artist Alley!"

I'm confused. The first message was the "you have a table" message last year, but is the second message the waitlist message?
I can definitely see how this could be confusing, but the second message is something that should be fixed*. It simply means that we are no longer accepting artist applications (they at 11:59 PM on Monday - April 8).

*Edit: already fixed.

Has anyone received a confirmation that they have been accepted? Because I logged into my account and it said all the artists have been picked. Not sure if this is true or just an error?
Oh wait, I think this is just a generic message that lets people know that applications are no longer being accepted. My mistake.
That is the message that you are on the waitlist for an AA table.

These vendors work directly with the San Jose Convention Center and we (FanimeCon) work with them on who to get. If you have questions, feel free to PM me and I'll try my best to answer.

Locking this thread as I would prefer to keep conversations on the same topic in one thread.

I know this sounds completely rediculous but I wanted to know what do you call the seating arrangement that is in the middle region but its at the end zones! where the artists enter and exit!...

if this was bread I would like to call it "the crust seating area" reason for is I kinda find that a favorable Entrance and exit without having the hassle to Bump into artists or accidently trip and Destroy their precious works!

again really sorry if this question doesnt make sense, if you want a picture, i can be happy to provide details about it since it make sense, but I fear moderators will block it
The layout won't be the same since we're changing locations.

How long is selection waiting?
There's no exact timeframe for it since it heavily depends on how long it takes for our Artist Alley team to go through each portfolio. This can be really quick or long, depending on numerous factors.

Artist Alley registration will be opening at 7:00 PM today (4/5/13). Here are some very important links:
