Title: PC Gaming
Post by: zemric on March 30, 2010, 12:20:27 PM
hello all pc gaming is coming back this year taking a new approach on running it.

i will have an open wifi (no internet though so dont bother)

EDIT* that also means no internet period.

i will be running a few different games

Starcraft
UnrealTournament 3
im thinking of a few more
(no steam games)

bringing in equipment

if you would like to lend us your computer that would be fine bring it to the
pc gaming desk and have us sign it in. (for security purposes i wont take
laptops, but you still can bring them i will have open space for you to sit
down and have some fun.)
i will have about 6-8 computers

post questions and requests here.

UPDATED 04/26/2010

games being played

unreal tournament 2004

starcraft: broodwar (custom maps are ok with free play games but im gonna have slightly tweaked maps for the tournament)

warcraft 3 TFT

and a future game that i need to get rounded off.

I don't particularly play this much, but it seems that League of Legends is on the rise and it's free and account-based. Might be something worth adding.

Well, I think I've already mentioned these before but it would be great if we could have some old style Command and Conquer on the main machines.

The other thing I was wondering, is since we have a LAN would it be alright to use it for non-official games, as in if people brought there own machines? Perhaps even some possibly arranged in advanced?

8 licenses of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne?
You mean, 8 copies or what?
Cuz we have a couple TFT discs laying around the house.

I just realized you really only need one key.
Since it's a LAN game style we'd be playing with WC3, C&C, you can just use the one key on all the machines. I don't know if you could use back-up disks for all the machines though.

&why no dota? :(

i'm only answering this because I think I know:
I think they use an ethernet cable to hook you up to the router so you become a part of the connection.
amirite?

Pat, do you need me to bring ethernet cords per chance?

Wow 1 year since last reply. So whats going on with PC gaming in 2011?

the gaming room is open 24hr right?
Can I bring in my laptop & play my own thing when I'm bored?

My schedule.

Morning = Sleep/EAT
Early Afternoon = Cosplay
Late Afternoon = Event
Evening = Anime
Late Evening = Dance/Gaming

Mod edit: It's called a dance:)

Fortunately, I am on the staff this year. What I can say for sure is that PC Gaming is a no go. However, we do have a substitute for that.
