Below are the bands I would like to see in Music Fest 2019 (25th anniversary edition):

TOTALFAT

In my opinion the best Japanese punk band in Japan! They played the 19th anime ending song for Naruto Shippuden. They have a great powerful sound and are sure to make the crowd dance and cheer to their unique upbeat songs! They love California and have never been to FANIME!

SPYAIR

Awesome rock band, have done lots of songs for anime and movies such as: The Amazing Spider-Man, Gintama, samurai flamenco, mobile suit gundam, haikyuu etc. They have played internationally in Korea, Paris, and across Japan. They held their first world tour last year, they put on a great show and I think they would be great or FANIME!

FLOW

Awesome rock band which have done a lot of anime songs for animes such as Naruto, dragon ball z movies, eureka 7, code geass etc! They have been to FANIME twice in 2010 and 2011 and are loved by the fans! I'm sure they would love to come back to FANIME and put on a fantastic show that is guaranteed to bring old and new fans together!

These are my top 3 band recommendations for MusicFest 2019! I believe that either of these 3 bands with powerful music are bound to put on a great show and attract a lot of fans as well as make new ones! It also gives them an opportunity to expand their music across the border and be even more recognized internationally! Any consideration would be greatly appreciated!

TOTALFAT (In my opinion the best Japanese punk band in Japan! They played the 19th anime ending song for Naruto Shippuden. They have a great powerful sound and are sure to make the crowd dance and cheer to their unique upbeat songs! They love California and have never been to FANIME!)

SPYAIR (Awesome rock band, have done lots of songs for anime and movies such as: The Amazing Spider-Man, Gintama, samurai flamenco, mobile suit gundam, haikyuu etc. They have played internationally in Korea, Paris, and across Japan. However, they have never played in America, I think Music Fest would be a great place for them to mark their territory in America!)

I would really love for TOTALFAT or SPYAIR to come to Fanime!!

TOTALFAT are a punk band and are very energetic! They've done an ending theme song for naruto shippuden. Would be awesome to see them perform! And the guys seem very awesome too!!

SPYAIR has done a couple of anime songs for gintama, gundum, bleach, haikyu etc! I saw them in japan and would love to see them live again!

personally I would love to see FLOW back again. I travel specifically to see these guys, and will do it a third fourth and fifth time if they keep coming back. As for other bands I would love to see Orange Range  or maybe a Visual Kei band. I'm not a fan of their music but I'm sure Asian Kung Fu generation would be popular,  though I'm personally not a fan of their music.

YES FLOW :D

I would return just to see FLOW again (I wasn't even their fan until this year's concert!) They really know how to work up a crowd. All my friends (who had no knowledge of FLOW before) became fans immediately after too! Their concert really was a lot of fun.

I know it's their third year but (maybe this is an incorrect usage of the idiom) "Why fix it if it ain't broke"? I really would love it if they came back! And scrolling through the thread I see that a majority agrees with me/would love to see to it become a Fanime tradition :D

IN SUMMARY.

Want:
FLOW

Heh and perhaps ANCAFE if thats not too much to ask from the Fanime gods. Should I make some offerings? XD

I totally agree with you! :D for the past two years my friends and I have traveled to fanime specifically to watch FLOW! We would love if this became a yearly tradition! I love san jose, fanimecon, and of course FLOW! We hope they can come back very soon  :)

I think the group pic was up on their website after Fanime. It's been awhile but let me see if I can dig it up ;)

I SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVED it to my laptop last year...
But it's not a group picture with them, it's just a picture that they took with their camera and put on their blog.
My dial-up is slow in Taiwan, but if you haven't already seen it/remember what I'm talking about I can upload it. xD
I think I remember which one it is. You should upload it just in case others havent or would like to see it  :)

I second this! FLOW is just so amazing! I would see them as many times as possible! Thank you MF for making our, FLOW-fans, dreams come true!  :)

So, what happened to the Sainte Claire Hotel?

Has anyone else found other FLOW articles/interviews? Has anyone also found the group picture that the guys took with everyone during the concert and the Q&A? It would be great to see them! Thanks in advance! :D

Our coverage of FLOW at Fanime is now available on J!-ENT.  It was fun to cover FLOW for the second year in a row.  Please enjoy our interview and photos!

Thanks a lot, awesome interview!!

A question that a lot of fans are wondering (maybe you can ask them next time) is if any of them are married. Everyone wonders about that and would be really interesting to know. Thanks again, great job!  :)

The concert was so FANTASTIC! It was really nostalgic hearing some of the songs, especially 1/3 Junjou na Kanjou. Really, me and my girlfriend flipped out when we heard it xD I didn't expect to hear them play that song, especially since it's so old, it reminded me of watching Rurouni Kenshin back in the day. I had such a blast getting to experience this concert! Both FLOW and Yuya gave amazing performances :)

The reason they played it is because they just recently released their own cover version of it:

(In case you're interested~)

Oh, I was wondering why they were covering an obscure song like that :) thanks for showing me!
Who was it originally sung by?

If anyone can be on the lookout for anyone selling the FLOW "On The Line" t-shirt in a S size, I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
I'm going to be looking out for it on eBay and garagesalejapan. If you know any other websites or LJ communities where i could possibly find people selling, please let me know. Thanks!

1/3 no junjou na kanjou was originally sung by "siam shade" :D

I would like to express my gratitude to all of the rovers and the staff involved in this years fanimecon. Everyone did a great job and know that all of your work and dedication is greatly appreciate by us fans. I would want to thank a specific person for helping make my fanimecon 2011 experience a fantastic one.

I would like to thank Chris, he is one of the people that makes Music fest happen, for being the great host that he was throughout the con. I loved the energy that he showed during the music fest concert, i was front row center, and throughout the concert he was cheering with the audience! It was funny because during the FLOW concert my friend started spinning her her lanyard and he told her to put it down since she could hit someone!  :D His sense of humor and approachability made him an outstanding host. Overall, superb job! Please continue the outstanding work in the future years to come! Thank you very much for making everyone's experience an enjoyable one! And of course thank you for bringing FLOW! We hope that we get to see them in the future!

Once again outstanding job to everyone and continue to bring us the amazing work you have shown us! :D

I think a great combo for next year would be: Home made kazoku and FLOW! Both of these bands would be amazing to see, since they are very talented and popular! The concert would be amazing since they did a song together a few years ago that they could perform together on stage! I think they would be a great choice for next year (or future years) since they both have such a large fan base. This is what I would suggest!

Yes FLOW!!!! like someone mentioned it would be amazing if they could come every year as a tradition!! I would be there every year if they made it back!! So please try and bring FLOW back!!! :D

They got all their gifts. Unfortunately things such as flowers and other perishables could not be taken back to Japan w/ them

The band always really appreciates support from their fans and they said that the crowds spirit? is the one of the most memorable.

Great to know! Thanks a lot! :D
