I'm hoping we can get more game industry guests. Reuben Langdon is a fun reoccurring face, but I was exceptionally thrilled the year that Daisuke Ishiwatari and Toshimichi Mori attended. The personal autographs (request sketches!) on the custom posters were awesome, and it would have been even more incredible had they gotten their own panel.

I don't have any celebrities in mind, but Ishiwatari is so iconic among the fighter community...could we get some more iconic designers/developers/composers to Fanime again?

Gaming / Re: Tribes Ascend (MMO+FPS) PC game

Halo was heavily influenced by the first Tribes, Starsiege. I prefer Tribes, and I'm happy they revived the series with Ascend.

I wish they'd hurry up and bring it to Steam though. Something's up with my client but I'm too lazy to repair/reinstall.

Skullgirls for sure! Mike Z, the project lead, stops by Fanime almost every year to play GG and BB. How cool would it be to play his own game with him?

I'm pretty sure it's OK to even use, since there is no danger for the users or people around you whatsoever. The ""smoke"" you exhale is just water vapor.

Alternatively, you can get those fake/joke cigarettes from Halloween stores that expel powder when you exhale into it. I'm sure those are much cheaper, but have less re-usability.

Hey, any final word on the exact day/time/location for this gathering?

I'm all over seconding the Castlevania music.
Here's a lovely waltz from the already suggested SoTN OST

Haha, I was definitely one of those people gushing over your armor that you mentioned! I remember you mentioned to look up vacuum forming (which I had never heard of before) but I had no idea that you made the actual vacuum former yourself!

Sign myself up as Lili Rochefort and my friend Kaizoku as Steve Fox!
#9
Go ahead and put myself down for RED Soldier, and Kaizoku down for RED Medic~ I'm sure you feel more obligated than anything to organize this another year in a row, but we all appreciate your dedication :)

It's been brought up already but I want to reiterate that scheduling EVERYTHING on Sunday at the same exact time (except for the J-rock whoevers concert) was ridiculous and stupid.

-a huge sign in front of the cc. such as:

This would make Fanime look quite professional, I like this.

Haha, I remember you! You were the girl with the EPIC rocket launcher! You were with the Medic right? You guys made the guns from scratch right? I've got a few pics of you I had my friends take. Right now I'm editing a few videos out of the footage I got from Fanime. I'll post a link to the photos later. I have a ton of questions for you about how you put your cosplay together as well. I wanted to take you out to lunch so we could talk about it I was so impressed!

Thank you so much, I'm really flattered! And yeah, they were all made from scratch. I'd be happy to answer any questions about the construction. I really think anyone could make these props if they had access to the tools, it's not too difficult!

Here are some pics of the props with comparisons that I made:

Rocket launcher (It deserves a full image, DAMN IT.)

Was awesome seeing you all again! And as last year, Avi did a fantastic job of organizing. I especially loved the hat trading snap, hahah.

I didn't get that many photos because the LAST thing I want to do is lug around MORE stuff while I'm holding a rocket launcher, so if you've got any pictures of me and/or my medic (I'm the RED soldier gal), I'd loooove to see them.

I already can't wait to see you all next year :D

Hello everyone!
Last year I was the Red Sniper with a hunting vest but I believe that this year I will be coming along as a pyro of either color.
I will also be bringing my friend along as a Spy, and another as an Engineer.

Cant wait to meet up with everyone again!

As long as I don't have to witness you drink your own jarate again.

- Cheap red contacts lol. Willing to pay up to $25/pair.

For red contacts, I can personally recommend these ($34.95). $10 more than your max, but you won't find better looking or SAFER quality for cheaper. :S

Here is a pic of me wearing them. I have blue eyes but the iris is 100% opaque, so they would look just like that on dark eyes. Sorry for the weird yellowy light, they're very much crimson.

The site also has 3 or so other pairs of red lenses for about $4 less each. The Twilight red is extremely popular. You could go for the vampire reds but in my personal opinion, without a little detailing, they make your entire eye look infected, opposed to having red irises.

Hope this helped.

Hi! I have a question about one of my props:

In 2009 I cosplayed a character with a baseball bat, but the bat was a home-made REPLICA bat. What I mean by that is, the dimensions are smaller than that of a factory baseball bat and it is not made out of Oak/Birch wood, it's made out of Balsa wood (the kind used for model air planes). It's very light and somewhat fragile and if dropped on a hard floor might actually snap.

here is an image of my prop: http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z105/psyrate/fanime2009/badgirlprogress6.jpg

It looks like it could be real, which obviously is the effect I wanted. But I was wondering, given the actual construction of my prop, is it allowed?

Thanks for your help.

Spontaneous progress shot of the Blutsauger I'm making to keep the thread aliieeeve

It looks small because the image is small but I can assure you it takes two hands to hold this thing.

haha man people still play on the official servers?
how is it.

Official server. They all merged and the population fluctuates from about 500 to 800. When I played, there was almost 2k on Chaos...

...but also when I played, my sinx build and gear was effective :/ I came back just to check all the new stuff out, but everything about my character and a lot of my gear is dated. The economy is EXTREMELY inflated too, which I'm guessing is thanks to the Kafra shop with the special elu/ori or whatever.

I'll probably stick around for a little bit just to see what guillotine cross is all about.

I'm horrible at everything except Meta Knight, which my boyfriend has assured me must be a broken character if I am able to successfully use it. He has faith in my gaming skills, as you can tell.

Aw that's sad :( I think you can learn whatever character you want to, it just takes practice. I'm in a bit of the opposite situation- my boyfriend would actually like me to get into comp play with him.

I like using Ness or Marth when messing around, but when the trypants are on I typically go Falco. I'd LIKE to learn more characters to be able to counterpick, though.

(as an aside, many do consider MetaKnight a broken character lol)

Gaming / Re: Favorite Video Game OST?
February 06, 2011, 02:06:40 AM
No More Heroes, No More Heroes 2, Godhand, Half-life 2, Chaos Legion, and MadWorld.

As an aside, I am STOKED for (the select few excellent tracks of) Portal 2's OST.

Little tip of advice- GET THERE ON TIME.

Last year I was 5-10 minutes late and my class group photo had already been taken :(

I would assume that the gathering will start just as punctually since Ava has volunteered to co-ordinate it again.
